@And so it begins I just think it's kind of disrespectful and it made me uncomfortable watching the video when he was talking and Mia was laughing. I don't see what was wrong with Mia. She wasn't dissing him by laughing, she was even agreeing. I think she understands the world and how it is to have polarising conversations in the real world. Also just reading Mia at the surface level, this is what I observed. She seeks the attention of all for insecurities she has in herself, but presents herself as a carefree no shits given individual but finishes every reaction with a calculated expression of her being the vulnerable one. Her reactions with Justin seemed to be completely over calculated in the sense that he was more disapproving towards her, so she had to display her beliefs of him holding judgment over her was his weakness even though it was her insecurities of him making her display her predetermined judgments of him. Her prejudice made her become close minded; which, contradicted any of her statements that made her feel so important and forward thinking. This is just my guess at a Surface level.

@waveyvlogs
@waveyvlogs Жыл бұрын
They said that
@alala4027
@alala4027 Жыл бұрын
Those issues may not exist for you but I'm sure you deal with complex feelings that maybe are not experienced as much in polyamorous relationships. Jealousy isn't something to avoid, like they said in the video, when you experience jealousy you get to learn more information about yourself and meet yourself on a deeper level whereas if you didn't experience it at all, you wouldn't have as much of an opportunity to meet that part of yourself. Like if a person doesn't want to be poly because they would be jealous, that's just avoiding a part of them that could help them grow to face. Of course people can do whatever they want and have boundaries. But being monogamous doesn't make it go away. it might still be there within them and it's just laying dormant. Avoiding something doesn't make it go away if it exists. Facing it helps it dissipate. But jealousy can happen in both poly and monogamous relationships.
@zakiyacarter3714
@zakiyacarter3714 Жыл бұрын
I agree with the replies that they stated this but also with you that there is also the underlying assumption from the group that lack of communication in mono relationships fuels jealousy and puts a lot of the onus on the person feeling jealousy or getting abused. Plus having shared romantic feelings towards one person would probably not resolve many hetero problems but fuel them. Alas to say, painting with broad strokes tends to miss many parts of the canvas. People have been poly forever but mono tends to be sufficient for most

Yeah, it felt like she didn't understand the assignment in that regard. But it can be tricky to be instructed with "you can't say how many partners you have" - so what, you just let others move you around? Same with the one with 0 partners (Anya?) - she should've stayed put at number one because she knew no number is greater than her 0. Kind of an iffy concept.

Mia said “jealous is hot” I want an explanation on this. It’s hot when someone is feeling jealous of her? Like one of her partners is jealous she is sending time with another and she likes that? If the jealous partner is into that then it’s fine and it can work, but if they aren’t then that could be very toxic, as in she’s attracted to her partner feeling a negative emotion

I hate the whole "if people are polygamous it'll stop/reduce domestic abuse" argument. Like there are very dangerous monogamous and polygamous people. I was groomed by polygamous men when I was aa teenager, and have met so many polygamous people when in the dating scene who would objectify me and were jealous of anything I did even though we'd never even been on a date. It's definitely not all polygamous people, there are lovely people who are polygamous. But just like monogamous people the community has issues and dangerous people in it who will pray on others, get jealous and be abusive to their partners EDIT: I MEAN POLYAMORY! I'm dyslexic and the two words basically look identical to me, and I'm not going to risk changing them as I'm worried my autocorrect might correct some words as polyamory and others as polygamy, so will confused more people with inconsistencies. So yeah ai mean polyamory, sorry for the confusion

100% agree, abuse is not because of a relationship structure, it's because of problems inside the person who's abusing. Abuse can happen in any relationship, between any types of people. The onus is on the individual who is behaving poorly, not on the relationship structure.

I think that his argument made sense. A lot of domestic abuse comes from control and jealousy and if people were able to speak about it more openly and be honest with how they feel and where it truly vibes from, it wouldnt bottle up as much and explode. Of course there will be shitty people everywhere but jealousy is at the root of a lot of violence.
