After this game and my last game where I never got to hold Europe once, I see why you like North America so much. Much easier to defend from board police Australia. You not only explain what you are doing (and why), but you point out what you see as the other players' mistakes or correct moves, and you explain what they should have done and why. I had a game like this recently with Australia breaking my Europe over and over. I went a slow rolled his big stack a couple turns in a row. I got some decent dice and it enticed another player to take him out once I'd weakened his position. Definitely not the exact same situation, but it worked in my case.

Pete is definitely more patient than me 😂 Anytime this happens to me in Europe I give them 2 free breaks to change their mind while I consolidate & clearly point my stack at them. If they insist on doing it a 3rd time, it's game over for us both. Unfortunately Pete got terrible dice removing the neutral bot when initially taking or his fate would've been on his own terms too.

It makes sense why alliances are so important to the game. But when Noone will it really makes the game feel bad. Hence why I like progressive better, fast paced and feels more skill based then ohhh I got the first bonus and now Noone else can have one style of gameplay.

I often find myself with a short fuse. When someone isn't a good neighbor, and particularly, if I'm in South America, and I have a 10+ stack in Asia, and usually it's Australia that will take that stack out - leaving me sandwiched between North America and Africa. Drives me insane, which is why I try to avoid South America as much as I can. The problem with the game is - if nobody has a short fuse or is drunk or something, the games can last a long, long, time. Like what are we doing with the three of us left having 300+ armies? It's nuts.

With fixed a lot of the mechanism that ends games is a gap in skill levels. If everyone plays to a certain minimum the game can stalemate for a long time.

Pretty interesting that you left the part out where someone claimed to be Black and was stream sniping. Maybe discouraging attention seeking or just not good for KZbin? Either way it seemed like an important piece of this game to take into consideration seeing as to how these circumstances wouldn't have happened to the average person who came to this video for instructional Risk content. Although very similar to games that they would deal with being targeted like this, I doubt many players would have been finished by someone who sacrificed a troop lead and a generative position for 1 placement higher.

Just had a game on Europe that I played to perfection in the early game and had it well defended on all fronts. Game evolved so that 1 player was bullying me, another player was doing nothing sitting in the Australia corner and meanwhile the final player was able to scoop up all of Africa North America and South America without anyone but me attempting to trip him up. genuinely drives me insane how much Europe is a just a magnet of senseless destruction after 1 player gets it as stable as possible.

Love all the hard work you do for your KZbin and Twitch. The stream sniping sucks. Sadly it's a life of a twitch streamer. An idea ...maybe you just don't play ranked type of risk on twitch steam. And use twitch for play with friends/tourneys/subscriber games. That way you get to have fun on twitch and still get to make KZbin content that are fair play.

I was quite surprised to see you call out green, saying 'they suck' for playing 'that badly' after hitting 'a lot of bot material' at 14:00. You proceed by saying you would have 'obviously not done that' calling it 'pissing it away hitting bots'. Yet next turn i was surprised to see you hit a bot 3 stack (losing 5) and then a bot 5 stack still. That logic didn't make sense to me. Maybe green did good getting rid of bot stacks asap. After all, white didn't when he could have hit a purple bot 8 stack and was later stuck with a giant blizzard in his continent. Green probably got to hold NA eventually making his bot hits correct. You only held Europe for 1 turn thus making it incorrect. If perhaps the game being so shitty clouded your judgement here somewhat, i completely understand. In fact, I am often surprised how you remain so composed in other games. My solution: turn fixed Friday into progressive Friday or zombie Friday. Who the hell likes fixed anyway? It's just a popularity contest where the one who single stacks and doesn't take continents often wins, or the one who suggests a successful alliance and then immediately backstabs. Generally a sh*tshow.
