In 1908, casein resin glue was branded "Marvel-Glu(e)" it was brownish and smelt like rotten milk that it was made from. It was widely used on Great War airships and aeroplanes on the linen fabric to make it more rigid and water-repellant, then coated on the outside with butyrate "dope" to make the fabric air-proof. The US Army used it on canvas for tents and traps to replace the flammable wax coatings as much as possible. The wooden frame and paper hull of the WWII De Havilland "Mosquito-Wooden Wonder" fighter-bomber were constructed ENTIRELY using improved casein resin glues as well as most WWII gliders to preserve "the use of strategic materials". I'm 71 and remember when hardware stores sold "Elmer's Casein Resin Glue Pellets (dry)".

I'm there with you. Always had a strange satisfaction with peeling dried Elmers off the orange cap, and the smell was weird. Other fun activity: melting crayons on the steam feeder pipes of the classroom wall heaters in the old schoolhouse I went to in elementary school! May have eaten some lead paint chips along the way and snorted asbestos too, who knows? Flabbock few delipon sporazi!

One important property of the 2:00 casein glue was it was waterproof and didn’t soften when wet.

I never knew that some Elmer's is supposed to look like that one 2nd to the left in the thumbnail. I found some in storage, must have been over 30 years old. I thought it went bad, threw it out.

Elmer should have used his glue to make his bond with Elsa stronger so that they would be together for a long time. However, if he applies too much glue on Elsa, it could cause 𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘶𝘴 that could make Elmer difficult or impossible to withdraw from Elsie.
