This is a whole campaign against the Jews by the USSR. You need to do a video about the anti Jewish campaign of 1968 in Poland. The KGB had a whole division that enforced discrimination against those with Jewish nationality in their passport. A whole series of videos about the USSR against the Jews. Anti Israel was one facet. Operation Rimon and many Soviet troops fought against Israel.

The Soviets did not give birth to Palestinian nationalism, but they definitely midwifed it. The Soviets provided the Palestine Liberation Organization with hundreds of millions of dollars. When the Soviet Union fell, Arafat had no choice but to accept the hand of peace that Rabin was offering. But he never gave up his hope of destroying Israel, launching the Second Intifada in 2000 mere weeks after refusing to give a counter-offer to Barak. However, as I said, Palestinian nationalism predated the KGB's meddling, having been started by antisemites like Haj Amin al-Husseini in the 1920's, long before Israel was established as a state.

@Klopp2543 Um, actually the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic was founded in 1918. Palestinian nationalism, at the earliest, began in 1920, when the locals began rebelling against the British occupation. Ariel Sharon did not enter the al-Aqsa Mosque, and even if he had, Arafat planned the Second Intifada already after leaving Camp David.

No Israeli took part in the massacre, and Ariel Sharon won a libel case in the United States over this claim that he ordered it. Have you any idea how hard it is for a public figure to win a libel case in the US? He had to prove actual malice. In any event, there is no proof of mass Palestinian nationalism prior to Sykes-Picot's revelation by, you guessed it, the nascent Soviet Union.

The title overstates the case a bit. But the KGB did boost the PLO as an attempt to create geopolitical difficulties for the US and it's allies in the Middle East. This kind of geostrategic game was common throughout the Cold War.

Perfect, thanks for this one. Just few notes regarding Czechoslovakia' s role in 1948: Czechoslovakia was member of UN Special Committee on Palestine (1947). In February 1948 there was a communist putsch in the Czechoslovakia, but the Government resigned only in summer 1948. The aid to Israel was secured before the putsch and after Bolshevik power structures were established in Czechoslovak state the arms delivery was stopped, And one more note: SSSR was antizionist since ever, but surprisingly for a shirt period in 1947 supported Israel and thanks to SSSR vote Israel actually was established. But it was done with the purpose to cause future disruption and Soviet strategist understood the potential of future conflict even before WW2.

In 1977, a PLO leader from Syria confirmed in an interwiew with a Dutch newspaper that it was Arafat who first claimed Palestinian nationality exclusively for the Arab population since the mid-60's, saying it was a media ploy to emphasize their claim to the land. During the British mandate, all the inhabitants of the region were called Palestinians, Muslims, Christians and Jews alike. He added that there was no notion of a shared nationality among the Arabs before. Allegedly Arafat followed advice coming form the Kremlin, but I don't remember if it was mentioned in the interview or if I've read it elswhere.

In 1967 during the war against Israel the entire Egyptian air force was comprised of the Soviet planes and Soviet pilots. Gamal Abdel Nasser was awarded the highest military honor of the USSR, The Hero of Soviet Union. Most of the African anti-Western regimes were funded and supported logistically and politically by the USSR. Fast forward to the 21st century, Russian Wagner mercenaries operate everywhere in Africa and Middle East where any anti-Western activity is happening, from Syria and Libya to Mali and Niger. But they are not too altruistic: they are after gold, rare metals and diamonds, or whatever else natural resources are available.

sorry, this is simply untrue. You think that for the centuries since the Arab conquests there were no Arabs living in the region? The fact of the matter is that while the ancestors of those who identify today as Palestinians did not really see themselves as jointly "Palestinian" as an important identity marker, there were in fact unique and indigenous Palestinian Arab populations in many places, such as Hebron, Nablus, Yaffa, Jerusalem and so on and so forth. The Arab migration into the land of Israel in the decades prior to 1948 is minor relative to the explosion in natural multiplication due to reductions in child mortality and so on. I say this as a Zionist Israeli Jew. Not everything which would be convenient for our narrative is actually true.

Nah thats cap I am Palestinian from Nablus and my family was in Nablus from fathers side for centuries while the maternal side of my father was originally from khalil (west bank) but went to Jerusalem before '48. Also many of my friends who are Palestinian have Jordanian passports either because their family were made refugees after '48 or '67 or they decided to migrate around that time but all have ancestry in Palestine spanning centuries if not millenia's also Palestine and Jordan are essentially one and half of Jordan became Palestinian due to Palestinian refugees fleeing due to Jewish zionist incursion. how ever my mothers side is Syrian hence I am Palestinian-Syrian but still my Palestinian side which is descendant of Samaritans who likely converted and got arabized are Indigienous we aren't Arabs who migrated the only side of the family that migrated was my Syrian maternal side and that was likely a millenia ago.

My mom told me about anti-Zionist compane of the Soviet government even after Stalin’s death in 1954.. I saw the newspapers «Известия» and “Труд” with anti-Zionist rhetoric in 70s (just like the current one in American CNN, MSNBC and Academia). My family immigrated to the US in 1982-92, and I am glad that this video shows the truth, which many, especially young, Americans and Europeans don’t really know.

From 1948 to 1967 parts of Judea and Samaria aka the West Bank and E. Jerusalem were under Jordanian control while the Gaza Strip was occupied by Egypt. Question - Why during 19 years the Palestinian state wasn't established in the borders they want it now? Wasn't it the best opportunity for the two-state solution? PLO was founded in 1964 in Jordan. Question - What 'Palestine' were they going to liberate? The Palestinian kind of Liberation movement was pretty much a copy of the Algerian National Liberation Front with all its anti-colonial ideology. They still believe that if they hit the Israelis hard enough they will flee back to Poland. The war has been dragging on for more than 75 years but they still don't have a clue what Zionism really means and how it is connected to Judaism and what the Jews really are. Looks like they still believe in the Soviet fairy tale of white colonial imperialist Jews who have no connection to ''Historic Palestine''. Yup, kids on US campuses and Muslim immigrants in the West buy this fairy tale very well and modern Sovifombuero, Al Jazeera has fed into this narrative a lot.

Okay, I am Palestinian-Syrian Arab Muslim and my view on zionism is that it is a (mostly not entirely) secular Jewish (nationalist) movement started or popularised by Herzel to resettle Palestine (as it was known during that period even zionists used to call it Palestine) by all means neccesarry such that it was met with resistance by some religious Jews/rabbis and the Ottoman caliphate/empire. The zionist ideology (Popular in Britian amongst British jews including Rothschild) sought to establish a colonial entity loyal to Britian (like how canada or Australlia were) while others wished for a independent Jewish but secular nation state akin to nationalist movements popularised at the time. This would be achieved as believed by many but not all zionists to be achieved with the "resettling" of established non-Jewish populations (mainly Arab Muslims/christians) or by living with them. While Britian promised this to them Britian came with the condition of respecting the civil liberties of established non Jewish populations instead of resettling them but why would they listen to the entity that allowed them to mass migrate and promised them a state? Nah rebel against Britian even though technically speaking the whole thing would've been impossible without them.

Israel was declared within the 1947 partition borders on the 14th May 1948 as a state which included a large Arab Minority already living there as full equal citizens. There would have been no ''resettling'' (as a result of many people fleeing to get out of harms way) had the Arabs declared their own state instead of declaring war on the Jewish State.

Not only there was no Palestinian Nationalism before the Soviets invented it, "Palestine" was part of Syria Palestina under the Ottomans or 'Palestine and transjordan' under the British mandate. In 1945 when the Arab league was formed for all Arab nationalities who wanted independence- one "nationality" was missing (they brought in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria etc.. but no "Palestine" which they themselves consider to be Jewish- and that's in 1945 before there was an Israel) Then in 1948 the Arabs invaded "Palestine". The Arab league decided to unify its militaries and attack Israel. The Arab league decided not to recognize Israel's existence but only recognized "Palestine" after failing to annihilate Israel in so many attempts- only then they moved to play the "social justice" card saying the Arab Israeli conflict is a national determination issue, when in fact it had been and still is an issue of Arabs wanting to annihilate the Jews

Yasser Arafat said in the 1960's there is no such people as Palestinians. The people who inhabited Israel under British Rule when it was called British Mandate Palestine were Jews, Arabs, and others from various nations, all entitled to the term Palestinians; no different to when the area was under Roman occupation and referred to as Syria-Palestina. Arafat and his cohort unashamedly appropriated the name "Palestinian" to bring cohesion to the mixture of their Arab followers for political purposes and to further to agenda of Islamisation in the world. That agenda dictates elimination of the Jews and all others who won't submit to their "god". Readers may be aware of all this and that Al-lah means the-god; he is only "the god of the Muslims". One doesn't need much intelligence to see the truth, however it is sadly evident the intelligence of multitudes of people is decreasing. The fact that the portion of Israel now named The West Bank is actually Judea-Samaria, and the people of Gaza are Arabs with a majority of Egyptian family names, some from Syria and Jordan and other Middle East Countries, are either unknown, ignored, or denied by the world. Those in the western world who have foolishly allied themselves against the Jewish people and Israel, those who mindlessly rally as "pro-Palestinian" but are actually "anti-Jew" and "anti-Israel", will be extremely sorry if Islam gains control in their own countries. Let's also not forget that Jordan was created to provide a homeland for all the Arabs who wanted to have a separate national identity. Jordan for the Arabs, Israel for the Jews. If the term "occupiers" is to be correctly used perhaps it should be applied to describe the Arabs who now possess Judea and Samaria and Gaza, who refer to themselves collectively as "Palestinians". The other fact that many "anti-Israel" supporters are ignorant of is the over 2.1 million Arab Citizens of Israel, who are Israelis along with the Jews and many others from different nations. Many of those Israeli Arabs are Muslim (and some may even call themselves Palestinian!).

@@Keithphysics Indeed. There were partition plans just like that were in India and Pakistan where there was a so called 'Nakba' of 14 million people. India for the Hindu and Pakistan for the Muslims. Just like in the ME, India still has 200M Muslims but Pakistan has almost no Hindus. There are 2 Million Arabs in Israel (>20% of the population) while all the Jews were ethnically cleansed from the ME and are not allowed to enter 'Palestine'. They call Israel genocidal while calling outright for Intifada and call it appartheid while no single Jew can go into the west bank or Gaza and not get lynched. They start genocidal wars again and again knowing that Israel is the stronger side because they want their kids to die so they can portray "Innocent Palestinian suffering" in Palywood and then force Israel to give away territory. And despite the fact that Hamas wants Palestinians dead for this reason, 92% of Gazans supports them and want to become martyrs (where they can have squares named after them and become celebrated as heores). The world wants to portray Israel as the bad guy (I wonder why) while totally ignore the death cult that developed in "Palestine" that glorifies death of infidels and of their own people as "glorified martyrs". Arab Jihadism is to take over every piece of land Muslims ever lived in and claim it (beware Europe, you're next)- this is "settler colonialism". Zionism is exactly the opposite. There are Jews all over the world and instead of claiming lands where Jews are, it calls to bring them back to their ancestrial homeland. The only solution to this crisis is if there will be ever a similar movement in the Arab world that will call to move all the made up "Palestinian" Arabs back to Saudi Arabia. But this is very unlikely, as they dont have peaceful Herzl-like leaders, but rather Arafat-Sinwar-Bin Laden type leaders and a willing populace that love pursuing Jihad and 'Shuada' (martyrdom)

The first person to call Palestinian-Arabs as "Palestinians" was Khalil Beidas in 1898, far before the USSR even existed. Before that, the Greeks coined this territory as Palaistine, which comes from the Arabic word "Falistine". A lot of the Jews you are talking about that were called Palestinians were also called Arab Jews, which they ended up differentiating themselves among Arabs by calling themselves Mizrahi Jews. The Palistinian problem was created to destabilize the Ottomans and British control in the area by the Russian Empire. The term "Palestine" is a geografic region name, not an administrative entity. It was never a state. We have many other geografic regions on Earth, like Amazonia, Hymalai, Scandinavia, Sahara, Caucassus, Balkans, Baltia, and so on. We can of course call those people who live in these area's Amazonians, Hymalanians, Scandinavians, Saharans, Caucassians, Balkanians, Baltians. But these are general terms and has nothing with citizenship or ethnical background. In reality, in all of these regions I noted above, there are many, many countries and states and even more ethnical cultures. But as a geografic region, none of them is an administrative entiry, has preciesely defined boundaries, same valuta, constitution or parliament. Palestine was never a state and after 7 october 2023 it never will be. End of story for Palestine.

Arabs had billion possibilities to build a state. Starting with UN Resolution of 2 state solution in 1947/48. Jews accepted the deal, payed the money for their land and founded a legitimate state. Arabs refused and started the w ar. They were refusing every proposals ever since. Ar abs started all the wa rs against Israel while Israel never started wa.r against Arabs. Even so, untill 6 october 2023 Arabs still had right to found own state. On 7 october 2023 they have lost that right once and for good.

It is now clear to me that this chanel is biased and not in favour of truth. UsSR did support the palestinian movement, however it didnt created it. The Palestinian nationalist movement has roots that predate the formation of the USSR. Palestinian nationalism began to take shape in the early 20th century, largely as a response to increasing Jewish immigration to Palestine and the political developments following World War I and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. However, the USSR did play a significant role in the Middle East, including in the Arab-Israeli conflict. During the Cold War, the Soviet Union supported various Arab states and Palestinian groups both politically and militarily. The USSR's support for the Palestinian cause was part of its broader strategy to gain influence in the Middle East and counter Western (particularly American) influence. So, while the USSR did support and influence it during the Cold War era, it didnt created it as this guy wants us to believe.

Great video! Whether or not it is the mission of "Unpacked," this video and others exposes the manipulated narrative imposed on Palestinians and those who shout in the streets in support of them. This is to say, I believe most Palestinians are good people with a strong desire to live peacefully, and yet for 100 years there has been a very calculated effort to do 2 things: 1) Undermine the Palestinians as a people - primarily by their own people from Arafat to Abbas, to Haniyeh, and 2) Undermine the right for Jews to have a sovereign state ANYWHERE in Palestine, even though it is absurd for them not to have a nation in their historic homeland. With that said, Palestinians obviously also deserve to have a sovereign state of their own, but the main problem preventing this from coming to fruition is that their leaders continue to put "Annihilate Israel" first on the Priorities Table.

I am an American who grew up in a Communist household. I remember when suddenly we considered Israel as part of western imperialism. We would get issues of Sputnik, a Soviet propaganda magazine showing a "heroic" Palestinian fighter standing on an Israeli helmet. Before this we were pro Israel as a place of refuge after the Holocaust. I didn't understand this change in attitude at the time but I have discovered since that what the narrator in this video said is true. Remember that the Soviets had a long history of betrayal, as when they made an alliance with the Nazis to take over Poland and Eastern Europe. And now the woke extreme left has made common cause with Islamists like Hamas. The USSR has been detrimental to the world and it still is the case.

They don't deserve a state Israel borders were made at the San Remo conference same as all the surrounding countries there was no Saudi Iraq, Syria, or Lebanon that was all just Ottoman Empire. The rights of the Arabs in Israel were very clearly stated they have the right to freedom of religion and access to their holy sites but it's very specific in its wording, and it says that the right of national aspiration is reserved for the Jewish people. It would be the biggest mistake in the world to give them their own state inside of Israel. Good thing they never even wanted a state inside of Israel. they just want to replace the Jewish state with the 22nd arab muslim country and a 2nd Palestinian state since Jordan is 60% "Palestinian" they have a majority in that country so it's essentially a Palestinian state.

I agree with almost everything you said except when you said Judaism and Zionism are not the same thing. They are… it’s our movement for self determination and right to our homeland in Israel (as I’m sure you’re well aware). I feel that Zionism is a core part of Jewish identity and really always has been (Jewish yearn to return to Jerusalem during the diaspora times etc). Other than that great video as always

Both of you guys are wrong fundamentally it isnt. Zionism is a nationalistic movement prompted by many leftists and socialists and overall secularists. It aims to establish a ''democratic'' Jewish national state only for Jews (however due to some reasons mainly international law they couldnt fully expell everyone else living there). In a zionist state there would be adultery and gambling hence its a state for jews and not a ''Jewish state abiding by the Torah'' (which is the book of guidance for the Jews). Hence it had and still has heavy opposition from ultra orthodox jews (I am talking about zionism as a movement).

As to Arafat claiming to be a "Palestinian," well, he was born in Egypt. Arafat was born in Cairo in August 1929. "Palestinian" ancestry? Arafat's father was from Gaza City. His father's mother was Egyptian. Gaza City is in the Gaza Strip -- which was part of Egypt from 1949 to 1967 (with a one year gap). So was Arafat's father even Palestinian? Probably a matter of definition. But if a person with a Russian parent is born in America, are they themselves Russian? So ... was Arafat "Palestinian" or Egyptian? I would say he was an Egyptian with family ties and grievances (validly or not) directed at Israel. The area known as Gaza was indeed narrowed in the 1948 war (that's why it came to be called a "Strip") so it is plausible that Arafat's father would have qualified as a "Palestinian refugee." But Arafat himself was not a refugee, he was an Egyptian by birth, and his claim to being a "Palestinian" could be debated.
