Kuki-Chin-Mizo or Zo people are mostly 3/4 Tibeto-Burman anyways by genetics and we do not have any amount of Semitic DNA….as a Kuki, I always saw my Jewish Kuki friends as somewhat weird. But the elders staunchly defend our oral traditions….ultimately I think it’s more a case of convergent traditions rather than a case of divergence. The Jewish tribes from Israel, as fabled in the Torah left like 2500 years ago. It’s far too long of a time, to say we still would have Jewish/semitic blood in our veins. So I don’t know how he can say, genetic test can prove our Jewishness. If anything, we might have convergent folk traditions. Yes, and also unlike the upper Assam and Arunachali and Naga tribesmen, who I think have kin in China and Southern Tibet. We Kuki and kindred tribes inhabit the North East of India and North West of Burma exclusively. This is why Kuki are politically and geologically in the toughest spot…hence the situation of things for us.

Jewish identity is not solely determined by genetics. Throughout Jewish history, communities have been formed and defined by religious, cultural, and historical factors rather than just biological lineage. Conversion and cultural transmission have played a significant role in many Jewish communities. Even if genetic evidence isn't conclusive, the Bnei Menashe's strong connection to Jewish customs, traditions, and beliefs holds significant weight in defining their Jewish identity. The Bnei Menashe believe they were displaced from ancient Israel over 2,700 years ago. In such a long timeline, genetic markers can diminish or change due to mixing with local populations. Given the long period of separation from the Middle East, it’s entirely plausible that they might have lost genetic markers specific to the Middle Eastern or Semitic populations. The Jewish faith emphasizes conversion and acceptance based on religious practice, rather than purely genetic descent. Many Jewish communities (e.g., Ethiopian Jews) may not have genetic ties to the historical Israelites but are still recognized as part of the Jewish people due to their religious adherence. Similarly, the Bnei Menashe have maintained practices that align with ancient Jewish customs, which should be considered more important than genetic evidence alone. Despite the lack of direct genetic evidence, the Bnei Menashe have preserved key aspects of Jewish traditions, such as Sabbath observance, dietary laws, and other practices, which could indicate their historical connection to Judaism. Oral traditions and cultural continuity often hold more weight in identity formation than genetic markers. Genetic studies are still developing, and the lack of a direct genetic connection does not definitively disprove their origins. Genetic data, especially from ancient times, can be incomplete or inconclusive due to the complexities of human migration and intermarriage with local populations. Additionally, many Jewish communities have diverse genetic backgrounds due to historical intermingling. Ultimately, religious identity is a matter of belief and community recognition. If the broader Jewish community accepts the Bnei Menashe based on their customs and historical claims, then genetics becomes less relevant in their self-identification as Jews. Conversion to mainstream Judaism is also an accepted path for those with ambiguous lineage. The absence of genetic evidence doesn't necessarily invalidate the Bnei Menashe's claims of Jewish ancestry. Jewish identity is multi-faceted, encompassing faith, tradition, and historical experiences. Their preservation of Jewish customs over generations remains a key aspect of their connection to the Jewish people.

Amazing the blatant misinformation that a simple search clears up. 1. The “beni menashe” started out in the 1950’s as a Jewish messianic (christian) group and learned all they did about jewish practice from books in the 1960’s. Literally the group began because one man said in a dream God told him so. They have is no history before that point. 2. The group was named the “beni menashe” by rabbi Eliyahu Avichai, the leader of a group that explicitly looks for these so called lost tribes. 3. Dna testing has at best been in-conclusive at best and at worst shown there is no middle eastern substrate to the "beni menashe". Incredibly dishonest.

The social scientist Lev Grinberg commented that "right wing Jewish groups wanted such conversions of distant people to boost the population in areas disputed by the Palestinians." This is politically motivated- these people were Christian- they’ve been Christian for generations. The movement began in 1951, when a tribal leader reported having a dream that his people's ancient homeland was Israel; some tribal members began embracing the idea that they were Jews. Before the movement's start, the community was largely a Christian one. DNA testing doesn’t exclude the possibility they could be *extremely* distantly related but just look at the Wikipedia page! “researchers found no genetic evidence of Middle Eastern ancestry for the Mizo-Chin-Kuki men.” All of this stinks of Israeli settler propaganda. (Coming from an American Jewish perspective)

Chin-Kuki-Mizo people They have no written history but their legends refer to a beloved homeland that they had to leave, called Sinlung/Chinlung. The various tribes speak languages that are branches of indigenous Tibeto-Burman. During the first Welsh missionary-led Christianisation movement, which swept through the Mizo hills in 1906, the missionaries prohibited indigenous festivals, feasts, and traditional songs and chants. After missionaries abandoned this policy during the 1919-24 Revival, the Mizo began writing their own hymns, incorporating indigenous elements. They created a unique form of syncretic Christian worship. Within couple of more generation they invented new ideas around Christianity and their past history in the state of hyper imagination under the influence of psychedelic substances they invented a new mythological history built around Christian mythology. Shinlung in India is a community of Indian from various Tibeto-Burmese The Bnei Menashe (Hebrew: בני מנשה, "Children of Menasseh", The movement began in 1951 when a tribal leader reported having a dream that his people's ancient homeland was Israel;

The Bible clearly demonstrates that the 10 tribes of the North weren’t fully lost, many people from each tribe settled in Jerusalem during the war with Assyria and the archaeology in Jerusalem verifies that there was indeed a sudden population boom and refugee crisis in Jerusalem during the reign of Hezekiah…. Hence there are no “Ten lost tribes”, but there are indeed a massive number of Jews from those ten tribes that were displaced centuries earlier than the main Jewish diaspora in 70AD

@ read the books of Kings and Chronicles, it’s as I said, the majority were taken into exile, but a remnant of those tribes fled to Jerusalem and took refuge there where they were never taken away. There are not 10 lost tribes, it’s a myth. Even today many members of the Jewish diaspora(70AD) trace their lineage to tribes other than Judah and Benjamin

@ you should actually read the Books of Kings and Chronicles. They refute the myth of 10 lost tribes. @@gouhaokip1 Jews are the descendants of Judah or Benjamin, two of the sons of Jacob (Israel). Jacob had 12 sons, the descendants of 10 of those sons (Reuben, Simeon, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Manasseh, and Ephraim) were taken captive by the Assyrian Empire, they are the 10 lost tribes of Israel. Only the descendants of Judah and Benjamin survived the exile, and Benjamin's descendants eventually integrated with the descendants of Judah. So, modern Jewish people are only the descendants of one or two of Jacob's sons. If the people they are talking about in this video are descendants of Manasseh (one of the 10 lost tribes) then they are not Jewish, but they are Isrealites and have just as much rights to consider Israel their land as the Jewish people.
