Who is ACTUALLY Better: Devin Booker or Donovan Mitchell? | NBA Versus

In a comparison that gets as discussed as almost any other in the modern NBA, there is only 2 players at the top of the NBA when it comes to shooting guards: Donovan Mitchell, and Devin Booker. All alone at the top, there has still been a ton of comparison between the two, especially after the most recent season that Donovan Mitchell had. So today, we are going to look at both players in their entirety, and try to break down who truly is better between the two.

this guy is living 4 years in the past. no one is comparing booker and Mitchell anymore. Jazz fans admitted booker was way better after years of riding for their guy. The only ones arguing it's even close anymore are Cavs fans who are going through the same cycle jazz fans did. for anyone else who knows ball booker is in a tier of his own amongst Shooting Guards.

The debate was basically over until last season with Mitchell’s career year. I still think there is a clear winner, which is apparent from what I actually say in the video, but people still have this conversation, therefore making it fair to talk about. Even if you think it’s clear, I’ve seen plenty of other people having this discussion

No not even close, Booker is better defensively statistically. Booker is taller/lengthier and stronger in the paint when it comes to backing down his defender. He is a much better mid range shooting, his 3 point shooting is not as great, but still nearly 38% and can easily get that in the 40's with the new starting 5 if he is wide open and not being double and triple team. Booker also just understands the game more with a higher IQ and has better court vision. Mitchell is fast, explosive but isn't as controlled and just isn't as smart.@@hoophierarchy

@hoophierarchy Mitchell is far more talented than Booker. It’s not close. Booker has been playing on super teams for years and has a piss poor winning percentage in the NBA. Devin Booker winning percentage in the NBA .4666, Mitchell .634. In head to head Matchups Mitchell also gets the nod at 8-5. It’s shocking that you wouldn’t include winning percentage or head to head in your evaluation. Defensively, Mitchell’s insane athletic gifts also enable him to be an elite defender like he was in college but he has to shoulder such a massive offensive load that he has to be prudent with his energy usage.

Great breakdown. I feel like you gave Mitchell the edge finishing to make it not as lopsided, even though Booker is more efficient, despite in less volume, but Mitchell is definitely more fun to watch in that category. The Suns are geared for a great year and Booker just might win the MVP.

Yeah that one is closer to a tie than an advantage Mitchell looking back at it. I do wonder if Booker will have MVP upside this season with as deep as his team is, his numbers may take a step back with KD and Beal taking shots from him and a guy with better stats may take it. Donovan is better. Utah never built around him and they still had the #1 seed. DG and Mobley went down and he they were 11-1 with him JA Issac and Dean Wade. Beal went down and the Suns could barely stay in the the top 7.
