1:29 you could tell Luka doesn’t like the word “easy” when describing his game. In the full interview, Luka interjected two times beforehand. It’s almost as If he views “easy” as a backhanded- compliment, when in reality we’re tryna say his game is smooth, & looks effortless. He works very hard at his game to refine his skill, & doesn’t want it to be under minded. I respect that mindset so much. The moment you view something as easy, the foot comes off the gas.

What I get from this is his life is basketball. He was a pro when he was a teen. Everything just comes natural because almost his whole life is basketball. He just plays, practices, gets better and stuff just happens. Like the 73 pt. game. This is why he says it’s not easy. Primarily the injuries and then the inconsistent play from the other players. The Mavs never had a definitive third best player on the team that would have stepped up when Kyrie was down (for about half of the season). Some nights its THJ, DJJ, Exum, Lively, Grant or Josh. Players get good stretches of games then suddenly get injured or fall back into a slump.

@@MrDiMES123 If there was a poll for the most embarassing moment of the playoffs that year, perhaps even of the last 10 years, the Suns choke would win overwhelmingly; no. 1 seed that was in the finals the previous year, in their most important game of the season so far, on their home court, trailing for as much as 50 at one point, with Book playing like absolute crap after trash-talking in the games before, with the team leading 2:0 and the fans chanting "Suns in 4". Compare that to the over-achieving Mavs losing in the conference finals against the eventual champs whose core players are the most playoff experienced squad in the past decade. Booker having a better regular season record against Luka won't mean jack after their retirement if he cannot capitalize it in the playoffs by beating him or winning more rings. Not to mention he has to go against the fact that Luka has been a better individual player so far.

It took booker cp3, ayton, kd and an overall much better squad to have a winning record against luka and unhealthy kyrie and porzingis, and YET in the most important games luka schooled booker. Oh and btw, Lukas much younger yet hes the one that seems to be more experienced n calm.

Luka and Booker have a competitive rivalry going on but it might be extreme to think that each “Hate Each Other” it’s a good media narrative but they’re certainly tension and bad blood but it’s not personal. Luka beat him in the playoffs but the last 2-3 regular season matchups Booker has outplayed Luka. I’m a Luka fan and they’re both generational talents but I think the media is going overboard. Let me know what ya think!

Hi jj, I think you feel the same way about the basketball player that Luka is as I do, remarkably talented. What do you learn (as an established player) talking to a player who can manhandle such a good team, about how to be able to do that? That game he clearly separated himself from D-Book, but what do you think truly separates them?
