Can't wait to one day see you move to trail running. You've inspired me to get back to running (currently sort of preparing for the first marathon next year, managed to do HM last Sunday after month and a half of consistent running). Gl in Valencia, sub 2:20, that's ambitious goal, hope you get it 🤞🤞 As they say: shoot for the moon even if you miss you still end up among the stars 😎

Great interview Phily. I've just gotten back into running this year aged 55 after more than a decade off and you n Ben are proving inspirational to my old legs. Am now training 4 times a week and have (possibly optimistic) hopes of getting another sub 3 marathon before I'm 60. Keep up the good work. Love the grind.

Ben is a major inspiration for me. His story of going from an amateur runner to where he is now is very inspiring. Also, enjoy his down to earth, personable attitude. Loved this video. For future guests, I don't have any recommendations. However, regarding the questions, I'd like to know what motivates people and what they think/say to themselves to keep improving even when there are setbacks.

Enjoyed this video since I watch both of you. Both of you are inspirations to me. I am racing again (5k’s) after almost 30 years of not racing. I never really stopped running but was not running big distances but now am putting in the miles.

Loved this, can't wait to see who you have next! Those times seem unreal for someone who has been running for such a short period! You need to get Mark Lewis on, the guy is absolutely nuts (in a good way) and will bring a lot of people to your channel that aren't really focused on running. Ben Parkes and Sarah Place too .

Nice video! Good idea, interesting discussion about running is always interesting! I predict that, with another 12-18 months training at his current volume, Ben will run comfortably under 2:20. His abilities clearly lie in the more aerobic areas. Only thing is that he really needs to get faster over 5K & 10K if he is going to break into the real elite at the distance.

If you want to interview someone who only took up running three years ago, already run three marathons with a fourth in two weeks' time and is now targeting a Boston Marathon qualification place at the age of 67, then I'm your person. Love it Philly!! As a guest I’m hoping you know her (I want to say you did a track race right at the start of the season together), I’d love to see a chat with Samantha Harrison. She has obviously had an awesome year, but she is 100% her and doesn’t fit that typically runners appearance. I think you both being so authentic and not afraid to be incredible women are just what the sport needs.

I’m not a paid KZbin subscriber so can’t play videos in the background-I’ve tried, but running causes the video to skip, or stops altogether when the screen locks🤣

Oh man. We had a bad trail race this month. It wasn’t even an ultra, just a Golden Trail series in Wales. Awful day. I’ve never run so poorly. I kept trying to remind myself that even good runners have bad days, so I can, too.

Aaron Reynolds - Recommend him as he was a former runner on the track. (Power of 10) Fell out of love for the sport and now thriving in the sport. Gone From sprinter to half marathon/marathon distances. He has a great story to tell. Check him out. P.S great video
