Awesome video as always. I am small KZbinr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I haven't used a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

Phily, I stumbled across your channel some time last year when I tried running for the first time. I remember binge watching nearly the entire library of videos lol! Both you and Daniel are some of my favourite KZbinrs. You both bring great energy, honesty and fun to the whole running process. I have really enjoyed seeing your career progress and lead you to where you are today. Your early videos like the park runs with Daniel were/are still some of my favourites! Here's to 2024 and the future!

Story time then. I got into running last April. I started to consume running content for inspiration and after a few Jog On videos the algorithm threw me into your video with Harry. You were so positive in attitude that I knew you were a creator to follow. Then after the algorithm immediately gave me the Halloween parkrun video with Daniel I SMASHED that subscribe button and haven’t looked back. You’re an inspiration and I’ll watch your original video now since I never have and you told me not to so now I must.

A lot of people don't realise the amount of editing that goes into making a video like this. With the amount of quick changes in camera angles, topics, old video clips etc. I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to how much time this video took to edit. I am no film maker but I think that it has been done really well.

I really love watching your videos even though I am not an athlete. I am an artist. A blind artist. I also have a rare heart condition that is affecting my whole body. Sometimes, I would wake up depressed but just last week, I thought about what would help me get out of bed no matter how much I was hurting. I didn't want to hear yet another motivational video. I have over a thousand motivational videos in my playlist. It helped me to a point, but I was thinking that I needed something totally out of the box. That is when I found your videos. Even though you talk about running, you have great advice and motivation that I can use to get out of bed even when it hurts and go do my art. Lol😂 when my hand cramps up from painting, I think about what you said. "Love the grind." I drink a Gatorade, eat some protein, and I keep going. You also taught me how to set a schedule for myself. AND I'm keeping it🎉❤ I also learned not to overdo it and listen to my body. I may not be able to run a race, but your videos are helping me to be an artist. Like you, I'm still doing what I love to do despite all the setbacks. Because of you, I get up every morning and train like an artist. Lol😂 You should see the tone muscles in my art hand💪😂❤ I just want to say thank you. I really love your videos. Lol even the bad ones❤

I think I discovered you through the video you did with Jog On : it put you on the map for me, and then when the algorithm recommended you to me, I remembered you. I might also have watched the one you did with This Messy Happy, and I thought : "Oh, that's her, I remember her !". I can't remember which was the first video of yours that I watched, but I remembered that I really liked it. It felt both very authentic and yet beautifully created and edited. Philly, you and Daniel have my huge respect for the kind of content you are able to produce! You both are incredibly talented and skilled, it inspires me to work on my skills too. I just started posting videos about training for my first half-marathon and it takes me AGES to think of video idea, create footage, edit it, and put it out. I think people don't realise just how much work it is to create a video that ends up having just a few minutes in total. Only once you start making your own videos, then it really hits ya, haha! Fingers crossed on hitting 100K, you deserve it!

It's so exciting that you and Daniel are supporting yourselves using KZbin, coaching, and editing. I'm happy to be one of the people who joined sometime in early 2023, and I think you'll hit 100k before the end of 2024! I travel alone, so I plan, film, and edit alone and the videos don't attract many people, so I know how difficult it can be. I prioritized my enjoyment of my around-the-world trip (for which I created my channel) instead of concentrating on the channel, and the results show that. But I wouldn't change it, I fulfilled one of my dreams.

I think I came over and subscribed after seeing you run parkrun with Harry (March 22). Then I went back and watched the ones I’d missed. In fact I’ve found a few fave channels that way - e.g. Benisrunning did a tie up with Andy FOD runner and Ben from the Messhaps where they each set a session for eachother to do and I subscribed to them. I reckon doing the odd video with other KZbinrs might be a good way to hit that 100k. Though I’m sure you will do it anyway and smah your PB. 💪

You remind me of the runner I could have dreamt of becoming if I had started 25 years earlier -- more talent could have helped also. I love that you have tried lots of types of jobs and have had some struggles along the way. My only suggestion is to feature your wonderful gray cats more - there is an entire parallel universe of online cat lovers for you to tap into. ❤

Question! Does a viewer skipping the ad on videos impact your pay compared to allowing the ad play all the way through? I’ve heard it both ways.

Great video Philly! Coming back to KZbin after a couple year layoff..you've helped inspire my wife (from pro runner) and I to document her running comeback after having kids...what part of her journey should we focus on to grow our subs? I have decent following currently from how to swim vids but anytime we put something personal other than swimming..our views are next to nothing...your feedback would be awesome, we want to live the dream too!

Great video. People should be watching more of these ‘real athletes’.. Not the ones who have been doing it 5 mins, giving wrong advice but somehow those people have 500k followers and earn an absolute fortune!

Hey Phily! Love your channel. Could you please do a video on what your running schedule looks like after a Marathon training block! I’m finishing up my Marathon training this week and looking ahead, I have no idea how to structure my running outside of ‘the block’. Many thanks!
