Hickmam era of avengers is my favorit avengers run ever. It feels really cool because it seems to have been all planned out from the begining. One of my favorite moments in the Infinity event is when Thor kneels to the Builder and calls back his hammer. Such a greay build up and impact to that.

I have been working my way to it, starting with the New/Secret/Regular Avengers in the early 2010s for some arbitrary reason (I think I had one, but can't remember it), which has been pretty rough so far. I think I might've read Infinity at some point, but might've needed better grounding in that era first.

If you wanted to give Black Swan an effect that sort of heralded a world ending event you could have her have an effect like "On Reveal: All cards next turn cost 2 less and are destroyed after revealing" so that her appearance becomes like the foretelling of this massive apocalyptic event that changes the game state. Definitely would need some experimenting with the numbers but I think it could be an interesting and flavorful effect.

So if Corvis Glave can not die if his glave is still intact. They could have make his effect that if he is discarded you get to keep his glave that is cheaper cost 1 or 0 and if you play his glave one the board he comes back to life, so if you discard him you get to play him for free Just a quick thought Great video. Honestly, wasn't interested in the Snap aspect but I do like these videos for sometimes highlighting characters I can't remember or don't know much about, such as Black Swan. This was a nice rundown, I look forward to getting to her introduction in my weird Avengers reading project.

i was always a Marvel kid but missed out on some major stuff in the last 15 years- only thing i knew about Black Swan before this was that she was in the comics and excluded from the movies -- buuut when you first started explaining her role it felt like Pariah from the og DC Crisis .. which, the Hickman multiversal convergence is kind of also that, which i dont hate-- i love actually-- it's all the same ragnarok style trope, turned around 90 degrees for the scifi age. The Odyssey told and retold, the story of theseus ..

God I love Hickman. He tells such a good story and then if someone asks you what's going on you have to try and explain years and years of buildup including time travel and multiverse shenanigans and it sounds like a mess but it somehow isn't.

I was disappointed with how the X books after HoX/PoX went back to being scattered across a dozen titles you had to follow, and then he got taken off the run before closing it out. He did an phenomenal job of modernising the X-Men while still keeping all their different major events as canon in the different timeline. Great use of Moira McTaggert too!

I'd not heard of her, and I was a little familiar with the Black order (I always get the name wrong, probably have again. For some reason I keep wanting to call them "Black Hand" too) Mainly through my friend playing a team of Proxima and Corvus in the marvel table top game, but then ofc also from the Avengers movies. I was wondering if She's always been a character, or was actually a new addition. I don't seem to remember her from the original Thanos comics, but then I don't remember any of those guys. The one thing that I remember is that Squirrel Girl beat him in 1 on 1 combat. We love you really, big guy :D Especially since I got Caiera last night... My first game with her I baited a killmonger,, and denied it, was so good. Got a screen shot of the "cannot destroy" speech bubble, too... that's getting framed.

@2:51 “It gets tricky” No, it gets expensive, Stan Lee and the rest of his empire built one of the best (on paper, pun unintentional but hilarious) capitalistic fronts of the modern era. Imagine if MARVEL was essentially like Shonen Jump, yeah, you’d need to be a weekly magazine for maybe only one comic you want to read, but at the same time you also now have an archive of stories to go back to that you didn’t read initially upon purchase but maybe now want to read because “oh man, do you read Guardians of the Galaxy?? It’s getting REALLY good” /response: “No of course not man, those guys suck! But i trust your opinion, and I have all my old magazines because this is my hobby so I’m obviously collecting, so I guess I’ll go and get them from my garage.” /end scene Like f’real, I understand why we have serializations based off of characters instead of everything an imprint is publishing housed into one book, but I think that’s why manga is more popular in the larger scope of groups around the world and different demographics while American comics are…well, they’re largely for and bought by Americans. That, and everyone and their mother pirates manga because it’s so easy. Not to say pirating American comics isn’t as easy, but it almost feels like comic book readers get a sense of achievement from spending $8 on 13 pages every week.

I had heard of Black Swan prior to this video, however I wasn't aware she was that tied into the Incursions and stuff like that, so it's cool to learn something about a character I only had a vague familiarity with. Also, you bring it up in the video, but I think Anya Taylor-Joy could absolutely be playing Black Swan in the MCU, assuming her casting and everything for the Fantastic Four movie is true. She definitely has the look of the character and with her being rumored as the Silver Surfer she definitely sounds like she'd play a similar role as Black Swan. I don't think she'll be Silver Surfer, mostly cause I think it's too soon to be bringing in Galactus and his Heralds, but if she does end up being the Silver Surfer I wouldn't be upset.

Hickman wrote my favorite comic. Fun fact there is a pale white woman in many of his comics. Not sure if he’s ever said why but I think they are all either the same character in different universes or they mean the same thing. Probably a symbol of the apocalypse. Or he really wants to be dommed by Lady Death. Who knows. He’s a weird writer.

I’ve learned more about side characters watching you than I have reading comics 😂 I’m a simple girl. I like to any character with an interesting power set and limitations. And side characters seem to nail this concept a little more consistently than mainline characters of whole many are effectively power fantasy fulfillment characters.

I think it's basically just to introduce people to her, which I think works since we're here watching/searching for her origins. While I agree Corvus could be a good season pass card, I think it's because they've already been introduced in the MCU (except Supergiant). Which is why they're holding onto their popularity and making people want to get them with keys 🤦. While my first statement could also be applicable to Supergiant (since she's been excluded in the MCU and is only known by comic fans), I think they didn't put her since she's an original member or maybe not that, but due to her fate 😂. More so, they're putting the original 4 (minus Ebony Maw, since he's released already) into the spotlights since they have connecting variants (from the Infinity Series) that might attract players to using their keys because of FOMO.

Black Swan would be a great pick for the MCU, because they really need recurring female villains. Her job is to drop in with a unique design, deliver exposition, and leave. She can defend herself but has no reason to fight whoever's movie this is.

I am a simple man with selfish reasons fir why I would not like to see Anya Taylor-Joy as Black Swan, Silver Surfer, or be in FF at all. I just want her to stay as Magik. New Mutants was cheeks, but she was great casting, and I truly think she deserves another chance as my favorite X-Men character.
