During President Uchtdorf's satellite address, he identified problems faced in society and urged members to be spiritually resilient. "We do not have to fear. Let us not be guided by our fears. At a time (when) economic or moral challenges in the world like to take their toll in individual lives, we have to remember that God is with us and we do not have to fear. We do not have the spirit of fear but of hope and of power."

Fellow you tubers... heed to the words on this video and do not behave as did the Pharasee's and the Saducees who didn't not recognize the savior in the same manner that many do not recognize HIS church as it is being ran under the direction of contemporary prophets in the world today.

It's probably a fabulous book if understood with the spirit of prophecy. Its probably a favorite among anti-mormon's because they've latched onto something that they feel explains their interpretation of the scriptures but when has private interpretation of things every amounted to anything? All it did for men is create hundreds of churches each with their own interpretation. For this, I'm eternally grateful for contemporary prophets. I no longer walk in darkness; I have no stumbling blocks.

There were many in the days of Israel while being led by Moses, that they also had their doubts and trials. Its no small wonder that the early members of the LDS church had their own "growing pains" but instead of "bearing with them" for their imperfections, the critics of our church would rather point out each and every flaw regardless if its true or not; It's quite sad to live such a life. I couldn't bear living a life hating others and preferring to remain in Hell vs. have Jesus heal me.

They have a thing about "following the Lords commandments" and being obedient... which I'm sure you have no difficulty doing; but even GOD commands the ultimate test, at times, to see who will stay or who will go... Christ himself invited the rich man to give up his wealth to follow him; this commitment would have required that he ignore his friends, make enemies with his clients, etc. In like manner, Joseph Smith knew he'd lose friends for following the Lord.

The first explanation is definitely the cool one. I would have thought that Joseph Smith would have been all over fallen angels, with his emphasis on the corporeality of divine beings. But it turns out that Joseph didnt believe in Watchers. Hugh Nibley wrote an article explaining how Josephs theology in the Book of Moses provides a solution to the dilemma:

There is no way to keep any of his commandments without God (Jesus). God knows this and knew we could not do it on our own. The great thing is with God all things are possible and he came to earth as a man (Jesus) to save us. Don't make what he did for us a thing you can earn or do to complete. His Grace is free to you and me, no strings attached. Now when you receive his Grace you WILL do good, not for grace but from grace.

...for as they condemned Jesus under the "charge" of Heresy, the same do they towards us as followers of Christ. I've even had people tell me that I have no claim on the redemption of Jesus Christ. That I have NO forgiveness of my Sins nor the Atonement with the REAL Jesus Christ because we have a different Jesus. If the true knowledge of Jesus was as they suggest, there is no hope for any of us! We would all be utterly wasted upon his coming because no one would then be prepared!!!

Cornelius and Permelia Lott, Farm hands, who had seen the Prophet frequently, attended the meeting with their children. When Brigham Young got up to speak, eleven-year-old Alzina Lott thought he was Joseph Smith, and she turned to her mother, Permelia, and said, Mama, I thought the Prophet was dead. Her mother answered, He is Alzina, and this is the way our Heavenly Father has told us who is to be our next leader and Prophet (quoted in Descendants of Cornelius Peter Lott, pp. 1011).

Point well made! I keep telling these people this same thing: they are just like the Jews in those days. Prophets had to be ancient to them. These people today read the Bible and don't see that when those things happened they were modern. Peter was as modern as Presidente Monson. Jesus was someone they could talk to and believe or doubt. The people love so much the Bible they worship the Bible and don't even know... like a Jew worshiped the Law and the prophets (ancient only that is...)

Remember, the gift of prophecy can work out in many different ways. A few examples might be in dreams, special insight either in the Bible or in life situations, direction for future events, declaration of sin, and even just "truth-telling." And it can come from many different vessels, according to Acts 2-men, women, elderly folks, and even children.

. . .Yet finding a voice speaking about the LDS Church isn't always easy, explained several local journalists. "I always want more than usually I get," said Jennifer Dobner, who covers the LDS Church for the Associated Press. "It's an institution, and institutions inherently have limitations on how much they can say, what they're willing to say, and sometimes that's never going to be enough for a journalist."

It seems clear that John 15:16 applies to all Christians. Therefore, Christians can rest in and take joy in the encouragement that Christ's decision is the foundation of our faith, not our decision (John 1:13). Christ's love is a powerful, strong, trustworthy love that cannot fail. He loves each individual Christian with this awesome love (John 13:1). God's love saves. It causes you to willingly come to Him. Finally, we can take encouragement that if Christ has chosen us, we will bear fruit.

They announce sins before promising blessings: A blessed life is no good if youre still lost in your sins. God has always had the condition of obedience before blessing. They will always agree with scripture or what the Lord has previously spoken. Such was the case in 1 Kings 13 when God told a certain man to deliver a message to King Jeroboam and to leave without eating or drinking in that town. omiolo2, The WHOLE Bible does not need interpretation. Heres an example: Ephesians 2:8-9,"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9not by works, so that no one can boast." ------This verse plainly says that we are saved by FAITH and not WORKS. This verse does not need "interpretation" because it says it's point so clearly and plainly.

Why would Christ not be related to us spiritually? Was he not both the "Son of God" and the "Son of Man?" Son of God after the spirit and son of Man after the flesh? Making him both our fellow sibling according to our creation before the foundation of the world... and also as part of the "family of man?" This does not diminish his calling as the Alpha and Omega; he is still all of these things. Jesus Christ was the son of God created spiritually just like every other spirit child of God.

(Genesis 10) Today, the former territory of Midian is located in what is now a small area of western Saudi Arabia, southern Jordan, southern Israel and the Sinai. In the Bible and archaically, a large region covering northern Sudan, modern day southern Egypt, and parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia were known as Cush. An Ethiopian is of the "Cushite" tribe, but to be called a Cushite is not always a good thing in that time.

@martlut John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath COMMITTED "ALL" JUDGMENT unto the Son: so if God and Jesus are of the SAME substance/essence/mind..how can this be?

I know Jesus is the Christ and that he loves me. He is the only begotten son of God. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God like Moses or Isaiah. I know this because I truly studied the book of Mormon and Bible and asked God for an answer to the truth of these things. I have been given an answer by Him and do my best to live by it. I am truly happy and at peace. If you sincerely study and pray God will show unto you the restored truth but you must be willing to be molded by him.

They wont predict "new truths" about end times and their words will not conflict with or go outside the bounds of scripture. Revelation 22:18 says, If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. Their gift isnt one size fits all. Consider King David. cont.

@martlut Why is it that one can sin against the FATHER and the SON but not against the HOLY GHOST as we read in the "bible"..if they are of the same essence or substance or MIND as trinitarians say ..why is it that you are not sinning against the HOLY GHOST when you sin against the Father and Son..if they are the same ESSENCE or SUBSTANCE or MIND?

@martlut Acts 7:51-53 “Ye STIFFNECKED and uncircumcised IN HEART and EARS, YE DO ALWAYS RESIST the HOLY GHOST: as your fathers did, SO DO YE. Which of the PROPHETS have not your fathers PERSECUTED and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have RECIEVED the law BY THE DISPOSITION OF ANGELS, and have NOT KEPT IT”.

@martlut You believe that Christ performed miracles but that the miracle of the Book of Mormon could not be true? Or do you not see Him as the Savior but simply as a teacher of morals?
