Considering the amount of Hulk characters going to appear in Captain America 4, I wouldn’t be surprised they threw in Doc Samson for a quick cameo appearance complete with those flowing green locks.

Immortal Hulk is absolutely amazing. Even the praise here still undersells it.

@@TheWeenyHutJr Same. I used to love him a lot more as a kid, then I kinda lost that adoration, and this comic bought it right back. It really makes me look at Hulk differently in anything he's in now.

I think my favourite part of Hulk: Grey is the exploration of Betty as someone who has been so enveloped in a world of monsters for so long that she’s come to love them, even though she knows it’s probably not good for her.

Doc Strange references "The One Below All" in his Team Up with Hulk, so it’s definitely at least referencing Immortal Hulk.
@BuildinWings18 күн бұрын
Hulk is hard to film solo. The audience wants SMASH, which Bruce goes out of his way to prevent. The protagonist is at odds with the audience. It's like a werewolf movie, but we're all rooting for the werewolf.

I've alwasy been a strong defender of Ang Lee's Hulk. It's the closest to what you're describing.

@@stevencooper564 although its origin for the Hulk is insanely convoluted and honestly he becomes too big.

@@stevencooper564 Same. Ang Lee's Hulk understood the assignment. And it should be liked by that.

I think framing Hulk as half-demon haunting Banner, half-force of righteous anger at *a bad thing* is both fun and widely appealing. A lot of great Hulk stories do that successfully, but movies are often stuck with not committing to anything and mostly using Hulk for action
@mr.iiconic17 күн бұрын
@@stevencooper564 I think the writing is really shallow though and Bruce himself is insanely uncharismatic to me, which is generally a problem for most live action Banner portrayals save for SPECIFICALLY the 2012 iteration of Ruffalo Hulk, none of his later appearances

I really like this format. It encourages people to go out and read good comics and if you did a more obscure character a chance to get people to discover some good deep cut stuff. Good vid Nando

I love this. As someone who didn't grow up in the US and only learned about these people in cartoons and movies, these dive into the characters is very eye-opening. Books really do matter especially in comic book characters, but this gives a very good glimpse. Thank you Nando

I love this idea. I was asking my friend this exact question for Wonder Woman the other day because I wanted to read some of her stories but didn’t know which ones to buy.
@joaobueno45018 күн бұрын
Mind sharing your friend’s list? Your comment got me thinking… I guess everyone would suggest George Pérez, Gail Simone and Greg Rucka’s runs, and they’d be right! My less-known recs would be Phil Jimenez’s run in the early 2000s and Steve Orlando’s short stint during DC Rebirth. Both are kinda messy due to editorial interference, but are filled with great character work and WW lore beyond the Greek-Roman myth stuff. Also, the currently releasing Absolute Wonder Woman, by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman, is the best WW has been in a loooong time, even if it’s an alternate version of Diana.

IMMORTAL HULK MY BELOVED! All of Immortal Hulk is excellent, but if you're interested in anything featuring Betty Ross, Issues 14-26 (or so, can't recall the exact issue) are stellar stuff. And Issue 19, "Butterfly," lives in my head forever. I'm gonna have to check out your other reading recs!

For the rivals thing about his connections to Immortal Hulk, while I can’t say if they’re gonna do anything big with it, it’s definitely canon to their version of Banner and Hulk. Mantis mentioned in an interaction with Hulk that she senses something “unnatural” in him and one of Doctor Stranges lines for activating his team up ability with Hulk mentions a certain thing related to the story that I probably shouldn’t spoil given your recommending the story. I think there’s even one dialogue with normal Bruce and Adam Warlock that references his relationship with his dad. So hey that’s neat.😅

Hey there. I normally don't self-promote, but this is Hulk related. For almost three years, I have wanted to make a Hulk fan film and currently running a crowdfunding campaign (at the time of this comment). I've always admired the 70's television series and wanted to pay tribute in some form. "Banner: To Seek Refuge" is my passion project that I hope to make a reality. A story of an immigrant who desperately tried to evade the worst people she could encounter. David Banner is a refugee in a sense, so writing this story was a sure thing. However, I CANNOT make it without your support. With a cast and crew behind me, I cannot afford to disappoint them. I ask you all to help support this project. The link to the campaign is in a video on my channel.
