Eh, he’s back on the board but he’s also aiming at Nat and Cal rather then us. With Kelso part of his group there is at least one person with a conscience. Unless Kelso is suddenly ok with bio terrorism we should be fairly safe.

its interesting to see that keener and his rogues knew of the hunter threat and wanted to deal with it, his rogues would've made a formidable force against the black tusk and the hunters. especially with all the support that he had from various factions with those rogues

I agree. It’s unfortunate that he spent most of his efforts using those assets to take out JTF, Division and Civilian folk but not one Hunter we know of.

​@@TheStoryModewell in retrospect they were pretty tainted at that point clinging onto the division and jtf for support. Keener was able to break some of that over reliance. All the people stuck in the island were the reason Manhattan could not recover.

There could be a SHOCKING lore revelation at the end of the vanguard manhunt. Also, I get the feeling that there is a small chance that Aaron Keener might not actually be dead, and that either he was seriously wounded at the end of the liberty island mission, but survived like HORNET did, or the guy who we fought there was one of his doubles. Keener is always two steps ahead of everyone else...

I’ve gotten a good bunch thanks to NGN, nothing viral but I’m certainly grateful for those that follow. They tend to comment and interact , such as yourself. Can’t really ask for more. I agree. I think Faye may have found her self too pinned down for some reason (maybe murdering the president) so she needed someone to carry the torch for the remainder of the mission. Could probably be why it appears a bit like she left breadcrumbs specifically for Kelso to follow.

Keener was definitely on to something before he died, and scrubbed the ANNA database before we could access it during the liberty island mission. Faye Lau was on to the same and went deep undercover as a double-agent to find out what it was. Hopefully we'll find out about it at the end of the current manhunt. Perhaps Keener's beef was not with the division, but with Calvin McManus, Natalya Sokolova, and the sinister conspiracy between homeland/black tusk and why they (and the hunters) are hunting the division.

Yeah I think the story changed a bit and Keener’s hatred ended up going for a better target. Kudos to the writing folk in giving Aaron more depth, since he resonated with folks. But in character: “even if Cal was his main target there was a whole heck of a lot of Division caught up in the crossfire. Maybe minor casualties of war when you look at it until you start to think that we were part of those targets too.” **out of character: I agree with you, thanks for commenting.**

Keener didn’t really pull me in when I first saw him, a first impression where in an ECHO, he shot a civ without hesitation and looking when being given orders, totally the prodigal son he claimed to be. For a decision to try mask his agent status, not a good one from my view. But his speech about our “deep state government” is quite intriguing. I was only recruited to be activated for an event, nothing else more I can’t get from other than my former trainer or recruiter. Until I know Cal exists. But perspective is the key to all of this, and I still think he’s a jerk. That Stock Broker mindset never really left him even it means cutting ties to anyone who done their purpose. Jupiter was the only agent I was hesitant to go after, her refusal to use Eclipse was quite odd but understandable. Some rogue agents are heartless but with Faye and Jupiter, the end’s justify the means. And I’m concerned more eyes of both sides are watching everyone and I’m clearly not on anyone’s side here. I’m looking for the big picture Theo and Keener were talking about, but with Kelso knocked out because it’s not the right Watch, maybe Keener’s that I’m wearing could do the trick. Me and you will learn more of what documents we’re about to uncover. And you know why I’m still alive? I’ve been doing lots of truces with SHD agents helping their “Operations”. Quite a few of them so far, and they’ll cover my name when the deed is done. So if that’s how it’s gonna be, then so be it.

Might be I see through Keener cause I have a problem with his venture capitalist background because like you said he’s carried that mentality over to everything he’s done. He’s a shark, looking for the his return of investment, maybe not in regards to money anymore but in the psychology sense instead. His ideals mean everything to him and everyone is expendable for “the cause”, even Theo Parnell who you mentioned. I agree on your take with Jupiter. It was unfortunate that the same thing that made her get rid of Eclipse didn’t allow her to negotiate with us for a better outcome. Magnus was another casualty I wish would’ve turned out differently, for personal reasons. As for Faye, I respect her time with us. I disagree how she went about things. Cutting us out on the whole decision making process just bothers me. I have to say , I admire the whole free agent vibe. There’s not that many of us willing to not pick a clear side. But whether you do a few jobs with SHD folk or with a few truckers like me, (even with BTSU if the situation calls for it) as long as it coincides with whatever our ideals are, then our conscience is clear. Especially if those same people can vouch for you. Keener has his legacy, we’ll all have our own. I think it matters the right people carry ours forward when we’re gone. Hopefully that’s not for some time. As for the foreseeable future, there are some interesting things that will come to light. Like more of what Theo was trying to tell us. I just hated that Keener got his hooks in him like he did. He would’ve made for a great asset right now. I guess I’ll just have to enjoy the spoils of his legacy , unlocking ANNA. And speaking of watches , it makes sense that Keener’s watch , like you suggest and which you possess, could bypass some security measures like the two factor authentication. We’ll have to wait and see I guess. I’ll certainly be watching.” Good stuff , thanks for the immersive comment

“Amusingly enough I repected him at the start for his whole survival at all costs thing especially cause it really didn’t seem like we’d be able to pull it together at the start. Then he started on his bioweapon and Conspiracies and it became clear he needed a bullet. Shame about Juniper as well though. That island is a festering pit of infection and the longer the cleaners had it the better. Can’t say I regret stopping those EMP’s though, Juniper may have been alright but the rest of his cells certainly weren’t. Also as a neat thought, with all the AI’s dropping their data on the cloud none of them are particularly more secure then the other, That also applies to the BT and diamond so if your one of the techy types could be something there. Lastly don’t get too fixated on the big picture you lose sight of the little people. Anyways It’ll be nice to get a beer and swap stories with the “other side” once we arrive at the new normal”

“Fair point on Keener. Totally agree about Molly Henderson. Hadn’t even considered the cloud stuff tbh but that’s a game changer. I’m admittedly of the mid-level tech variety but now I know what to keep my eyes out for. Reading this I can only sit here and hope that it’s the little people that will help shape the world to come because it’s the big ones that gave us what we currently have (Cal with SHD, Nat with BTSU among others) . It makes sense that I don’t allow any focus on them to cloud what really matters. Thanks for the reminder. This makes the liberty island mission a bit more interesting. With Faye and Keener working together the BT trying to blow up the ferries seems like Faye’s idea. Kelso is important for some later part and blowing the ferries keeps her from interfering. That could either be to keep her and the agent safe or because they were the only threat to keener on the island. The Black Tusk never stood a chance with Keener stealing all their tech but the agents were good enough to deal with Keener. That deals with Keener wanting to get killed and raises the question of where the missile was going?

All good points. Keener is being retconned right? If that’s the case I do like that they left enough room for Keener to be part of something heroic, it’s a credit to their narrative team to find a way to clean his motivations up if so. I think Keener was just the big bad wanting to hit the reset button on NY and the long term thought may have been to have Schaefer be that good guy. But I think they saw Keener’s potential for a longer arc and switched it up so now that missile was pointing at a Hunter target. But where? 🤷‍♂️
