I wonder how many people will come into this video and be reminded that Cassandra Nova is a weird old goop monster and not a strangely attractive 20-something bald warlord. At least one person.

I mean, she was able to construct her body. So with enough time, she could construct a younger, hotter version if she actually cared. I mean, we know she can survive 150 years into the future, so the age thing seems like a choice to contrast Charles as much as anything.

It's funny that Cassandra unleashed the Wild Sentinels on Genosha. Xmen 97 had the Sentinel attack on Genosha without Cassandra. And Cassandra is in Deadpool 3 without any Sentinels. Each one gets half of the story

Also… did she and Charles like PHYSICALLY fight in the womb? Like with little baby arms? Like he was punching and choking her with under development arm muscles and soft bones?

I've found she works well with Black Widow and Absorbing Man too. Black Widow's Widow bite means that the opponent won't draw a new card for a turn, so you've got an extra card in their deck to steal power from. Same with Absorbing Man who could also be played after her to empower himself. Combine them both with Odin and you've got a pretty big power boost

Fantastic work. Are you going to do something about old cards? Would love something like that

14:10 it sorta branched from the original animated xmen series. Juggernauts helmet protected him from telepathic attacks, too.
@HotDogTimeMachine3855 ай бұрын
Did it? Afaik it was made for the first Xmen movie and then spread onto the comics and other adaptations. It was a plot point in Xmen 97, but I don't think it was a thing in the original Xmen The Animated Series

One interesting part of Cassandra is that despite seemingly being pure evil, she's had redemption baked into her since the beginning. After being defeated, she's sent to be rehabilitated and we see in the alternate future at the end of Morrison's run that this succeeded. And this is then echoed in X-men Red. What this says about Charles, that his opposite is an evil being destined for redemption, isn't pleasant. Probably not fully planned, but since the New X-men run, Charles hasn't really been much of a moral paradigm. Maybe it's time for Cassandra to come back and lead the X-Men, instead of a having the 'evil' fill-in always being Magneto.

FYI: E is for Extinction just got a release as part of the Modern Epic collection for Anyone who wants it. Also something interesting about her is she does appear at the end of Morrison’s run on New X-Men. I think it’s Here Comes Tomorrow? It’s interesting cause in that storyline she’s helping and leading the X-Men.

So this was a plotline that was retconned since it was a subtle background detail that I think most future writers either missed entirely or just didnt like, but post-rehabilitation Cassandra was actually around throughout the rest of New X-Men; as the student Ernst in Xorn's Special Class. The run's ending arc, Here Comes Tomorrow, has a future Cassandra Nova Xavier leading the X-Men, who is a close friend of Cerebella, (the same way Ernst was) wherein she tells Cerebella "of course you can still call me Ernst" which was supposed to be the big reveal for where she had been all this time and who that kid was. But, like i said, future writers didnt seem interested in that plot reveal for whatever reason so it was retconned and now no one knows who Ernst is.

Since Erik Voss on New Rockstars has to bring it up "Mummudrai" every time, even though it's never a factor in the movie (and I've grown to hate it every time I've heard it lol), the phrase is now usually pronounced as "Moo-Moo-Dry".

After seeing this video it’s interesting they cast someone much younger than the comic version. But I still loved Emma Corrin’s performance and would love to see her in a future MCU X Men movie

Magneto's helmet was just something the movie writers stole from Juggernaut. It was well established by that point that was what Jugg's helmet did. They wanted to protect Magneto, they weren't using Juggernaut in this film, they took the shot.

Interesting watch especially after seeing the movie! The Krakoa New Mutants with Cassandra was so strange, I didn't understand what it was trying to do at all. Why add another prehistoric (pre-cambrian??) mutant society in the middle of Krakoa just after doing the same thing with the Arraki at the start! FYI, I saw some datamines have Silver Sable coming out before madame web (but some don't have her at all).

There wasn't a backstory in the movie. It was just told , it felt like forced/mandatory dialogue too. Not natural. Show don't tell. Imagine how good it would've been if the backstory was shown, really show her power from there in a 3 minute time showing her growth story how she came to be, fleshed out. Only people who got proper backstory was Deadpool and Wolverine. Cassandra Nova sadly goes to the forgettable generic villains MCU has been doing their villains so dirty. Only Thanos was developed everything else dookie or mediocre at best. So many unnecessary scenes in Deadpool and Wolverine like the Deadpool corps, human torch was unnecessary brought nothing except as a joke. Keep the other villains on Cassandra Nova's side, remove all the Deadpool variants and really flesh out the story you know, let the jokes breathe , have more serious moments like that car scene where Wolverine came back at Deadpool. Because of all the constant jokes, it was unfunny for the most parts or they were forced because it fit their writing which if you look at that way it seemed they focused more on how to fit this that joke in their writing instead of the actual story which needed more room.
