Who Is Elora the Faun? | Spyro Character Spotlight

If we get another Spyro game, I feel like the lore behind Elora could be expanded to where she has a much larger role like she did in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage but also as a playable character.

I'd like that. As for playability, I think it should be like the extra characters in Year of the Dragon; having her available for certain levels. Or maybe like the parallel levels in It's About Time in which her actions there affect the main level. This goes for Hunter and possibly Bianca too.

I know Elora's redesign in Reignited was controversial for many fans of the PS1 era of Spyro, but I really like how they updated her design. Given she was intended to be a Centaur before the switch over to Faun I think the design works better, as she always looked to be half-Horse rather than Goat in the PS1 games (though part of that may be graphical limitations). I like how her design was tweaked once more for Crash Team Rumble, but I hope this renaissance for Elora means she'll get more focus in future Spyro projects.

I think the Rumble design looks a little better, like they added small little nuances that make her look closer to the original while keeping faithful to the Reignited design. Only tweak I don't like much is the added leaf to make her look more fully clothed. I dunno, I kinda liked she just had that big white animal belly, you don't see many females with fully naked non-anthro lower halfs.

Theres still a chance to expand Eloras story shes got that sally acorn energy about her she's smart she's careing shes a natural leader but dosen't except the title of leader, her unique look compared to other fauns sujests shes a special faun possibly royalty but who can say.

Its not just her design, her personality especialy in reignighted its like Sally Acorn reincarnated as a spyro Character. I don't wana sound to literal since as a character and concept Sally acorn is dead killed by Ken penders everybody knows that. but thats beside the point.@@PlanetZoidstar

​@njfox3305 to clarify, Sally is killed by Sega, not Penders. Sega was just never interested in her as a character or popularizing her and let Archie comics do their own thing with her.

@njfox3305 nah, not personally keen on putting one characters personality and figure on another one. Elora is upbeat and brave fawn, Sally is flawed princess with a lot of responsibility struggles, they're both great characters and they're completely separate and independent. Besides, Sally isn't dead at all despite what Sega and fans say, comics and the show are forever there, fans work hard on comics continuation and season 3

Elora has always been a really major favourite of mine in the Spyro series, going all the way back to when I was a kid playing the original trilogy on PS1, and I'd really love to see more of her. Having a game with her as the protaganist, or even a larger role in a future Spyro game, would be amazing. I might be being a bit overly critical of the Reignited Trilogy here, but I honestly feel they didn't really do her justice. Don't get me wrong, the character model looks really good, but she doesn't really look like Elora to me. I mean, I get that the original model was very crude by comparisonn, but things they've added, like the spiky hair, not to mention how they've done the shape of her face, just doesn't feel like Elora.

I still can't wait to play as Elora in Activision's Crash Team Rumble today, but I still want to see Elora as side playable character in Activision's new Spyro game: Spyro 4: title when hopefully be announced in this year for Year of the Dragon, because this is Activision and Toys for Bob's last chance to make an announcement of new Spyro game: Spyro 4. I hope they'll make it happen soon. Because the wait is over.🙏

I always wondered who Elora is as well I couldn’t tell if she’s either the Princess or one of the leaders of Avalar But Hope Elora gets in the New SPYRO 4 And Hope Elora gets included in Spyro’s New brands of Merchandises as well Where they could add Elora in Plush Dolls Funko POP! I Hope They do become in item Cynder has grown in my heart but they could pair Cynder up with another Dragon dude or even another Creature Dude by chance And kind of hope the Developers could make Spyro and Cynder into Dragon siblings a backstory on how they were separated as Dragon Eggs by chance @@sagrawolf

this series growing up made my childhood and i beat Reignite Trilogy agian for 2024 this Year of The Dragon and ive got alot theories going all the way back for years on what Spyro 4 might be and with some of the clues up to now just narrowed down a few.. and ive liked her character ever since, and though it sucked thats the only games she been in but they could of utilize her character more back then but it was cool to see Elora show up in Crash Team Rumble an kinda hoping to see what part she'll play in Spyro 4 though 💜🐉🍀🦌im psyched as hell for it to come out soon

I think she fell to the wayside in the post-ND era due to Bianca sorta taking her role as being a sort of tutorial character and expert in magic. Since Spyro didn't really go back to Avalar with the exception of Shadow Legacy, it feels like they kinda forgot about her

Rumble's translation of her into a playable set of powers is quite interesting. She actually changes up the meta since she's actually a very support-focused character, fittingly for a character who is very much a supporting cast member. Healing aura is a fitting power for Elora and one that doesn't muck up why she didn't just kick Ripto's butt herself in the first place. Besides that, I think you made the points already. There wasn't much to do with Elora beforehand, she had no abilities of her own originally and was very tied to her own environment. She reminds me of the Crash 1 randos like Tawna and how they had basically nothing to them until Nitro Fuelled added a personality and voice to them all. Reignited and Rumble have done similar subtle fleshing out, it just waits to be seen if they'll keep it going, or if they'll even get the CHANCE to. I admit Elora feels a bit like an archetype lost to time. I think if Spyro 2 were made even a little later, Elora would have turned out to be a twist villain, it's so rare for the kindly navigator to be genuine nowadays. :P

@@MiharuTheFox OBVIOUSLY SPOILER ALERT: Merlina from Sonic and the Black Knight is probably a good example. She brings in Sonic to deal with a villain so as to assist her own plan behind the curtains. Same deal with Chef Saltbaker from Cuphead, and Marx and Magolor from Kirby (boy he deals with these guys a lot :P). Basically the kindly exposition guy who is revealed to have made the hero their delivery boy with the charade of some other villain. Elora obviously wasn't this, though I have to say that scene after beating Gulp sure had a shifty vibe for no reason, even in Reignited.

I've always maintained Spyro 3's biggest issue was variety for variety's sake without much consideration to the virtues of focus. Hunter and Elora could easily have been the playable characters in Spyro 3 with Hunter being more speed and distance focused where Spyro can't just have a speed boost luckily near by and Elora being more vertically inclined and I suspect a good peace keeper since she seemed to be the most sensible and organized of the Avalarian gang. And that's just for Spyro 3, let alone a more technically advanced Spyro 4. Yes, it's coming. As far as I'm concerned, that debate isn't even worth having. The question should be when is it coming.

Yeah, I admit I thought it was odd they just made a whole new cast for the playable roster. It made sense for SOME of them to originate from the world you're entering for world building, but Spyro 2 bothered to establish a supporting cast for Spyro that fans would wanna play as. Even out of the new characters, I think Bianca would have made a better fit for the final unlockable given her story arc. The four animal buddies are likeable and all, but feel a bit....superfluous, like they're not as attached to Spyro or the main story. I do think Hero's Tail nailed the idea better, with a mix of new world building characters and some old favourites, like Hunter FINALLY being fully playable.

I didn't even know they added Elora to Rumble, that's great news. They even gave her a skill set, hopefully this leads to her being playable like the Spyro Squad in 3. I've always seen Elora as a possible druid, her being a Faun would give her a connection to nature and we see her tame Pterodactyls from Skelos Badlands to drop items in the Gulp boss fight. Her being kick focused in combat also makes sense, she has hooves and those hurt when they hit you. She could be the Chun-Li of the Spyro universe, all she has to do is learn martial arts from Greta. Not to mention her healing via nature magic, she could visit the Dragon Realms and study with the Beast Makers.

​@@MiharuTheFoxSo, Dreams is kind of a "game-maker" released on PlayStation 4 (it's also on PS5). People often collaborate on various aspects of their games, including asking people to do voice acting. If you accepted, basically I would ask you to record your lines into Dreams on PS4 (or PS5) using a headset. I could then take the audio recorded and include it in my fan-made Spyro level. Does that make sense?
