Ezekiel wasn't killed by Morlun. In that very story, Spiderman realized that Ezekiel survived the attack and escaped. Ezekiel later brought Peter to Africa in an attempt to use him as a sacrifice to save himself, but had a change of heart leading to him sacrificing himself to the giant spider that he had intended for Peter to be killed by.

I feel the same way with the symbiotes , I prefer when they were just a weird alien thing Spidey brought back from space. Granted I understand the desire and need to expand the world and mythos of these characters and I think some of it is cool. Like back to the symbiotes I think it's cool that the origin for their weakness comes from their creator making the all black weapon and them hearing the clanging of the hammer and the heat of the forge.

The Spider God , is based off a real African Myth, in which the character (Anansi) has the powers of a Spider and is a trickster who uses his wits to defeat stronger opponents. Well, at the time, he was the only other living person with those powers besides Kane (and maybe Venom if you count that). Back then, he was cool and his story, while very controversial, was cool too. However, just like Ben Reilly, Ezekiel should have stayed dead after he served his story purpose. Now that we have this SpiderVerse bullshit and bringing a character in to be a villain of a film where it makes no sense (think of it like forcing Alfred to be the villain of a Batgirl movie), most people now will only see him as "the fake Spider-Man from that awful spin-off movie."

Yet they have, since his first unnamed appearance in 1988, in Thor Volume 1 #398. Second, It's true that the whole multiverse thing is relatively new and only about a decade old, but it's been a concept since the mid-90's when they played around with it for the animated show. And of course you'll never see anything current if you just go back and watch the original comics, that's what makes them originals, go back and drive the original car and you'll see all cars were meant to be electric with none of that gasoline internal combustion shit. Things change, that's why batman doesn't carry a gun anymore, why superman isn't just really good at jumping anymore and can actually fly.

This was a really damn cool story and an exceptionally different character. Ambiguous not a hero or a villain but play the role of both. I’d love for them to revive his character and do him justice in a major redemption type of way. I know how his story went and it closed itself out. But still I’d love to see a new story about him that ties into Spider-Man‘s life in a very poetic way. Based on the website we’ve. He wasn’t around for long but a very profound character.
