Demoman (with Charge n' Targe/Tide Turner and some sort of booties + head-counting melee weapon): Charge:~15.6 m/s [Duration: 12 seconds as per the wiki] Max range of 187.2 meters. Walking Speed (with 4+ heads): ~7.73 m/s Walking Speed ( Base Normal/No Buffs/No Items): ~ 5.31 m/s Reinhardt (From the SpriteGuy spreadsheet): Charge: ~ 16.6 m/s with a max range of 55 meters Walking Speed: ~5.5 m/s From the walking speed alone, looks like Reinhardt has the Demoman beat by .2 m/s (Note, I'm not taking into account the buff that the demoknight gains from having boots and shield equipped. If he has a shield + boots, the demoknights movespeed is roughly 5.85 m/s or a tad faster than Reinhardt. But remember the first test is no buffs or item buffs.) The second test is pretty easy actually because since the demo charge range is well over 100 m, so we just need to find the time it takes for the demo man to finish the 100m. So 100m/15.6 m/s gives us 6.4 seconds. All we need to prove is that Reinhardt can't finish the 100m race in 6.4 seconds. Since Reinhardt does 55m at a speed of 16.6 m/s, the time to finish 55 m is 3.31 seconds, leaving him to finish 45m at a speed of 5.5 m/s, which would take him 8.5 seconds to complete, which totals Reinhardt's overall time to about 11.81 seconds. Meaning that the Demoknight beats Reinhardt with 5.4 seconds to spare. TL:DR Reinhardt beats Demoman at walking speed by .2 m/s With items Demoman beats Reinhardt by almost 6 seconds to spare. :D Disclaimer: I haven't tested any of these speed/range values, I'll leave that up to someone else. I pulled these from spreadsheets and the tf2 wiki. There is also a high chance that I did a major derp and messed up all my math.

Genji: Swift strike takes him 14 meters in 0.40 seconds, if he kills an enemy in that time he can use it again, seeing as how it is at max potential, he does, so to complete 100 meters it would take him: 2.56 seconds. Reinhardt: Using charge will travel 55 meters in 3.3 seconds, then travels at 5.5 meters per second taking him 8.18 seconds to finish, adding up to 11.48 seconds. Zenyatta: With his newly buffed ultimate, he will travel 65.9 meters in 6 seconds, it will take him another 6.2 seconds to finish the 100 meters adding up to 12.2 seconds. Mercy: Guardian Angel allows her to travel 30 meters in 1.5 seconds, it then takes 2 seconds to recharge meaning that Mercy will finish the 100 meters in about 9 seconds. Winston: His jump allows him to go 20 meters in 1 second, causing Winston to jump the first time and use his ultimate in mid-air will cause his second jump to have no cool-down, allowing him to go 40 meters in 2 seconds, he then has a cool-down time of 2 seconds where in his ultimate his new speed is 7.1 meters per second, meaning he travels 14.2 meters in the next 2 seconds, repeat this and we get his total time of, around 7.6 seconds. Reaper: Using Wraithform will travel at 7.1 meters per second for 3 seconds, getting him 21.3 meters. He can then use Shadowstep to travel 35 meters in 2 seconds, for 6 seconds he will travel at 5.5 mps to take him to 89.5 meters where he can use Wraithform again to travel 10.8 meters at 7.1 mps (taking him 1.52 seconds) total time: 12.52 Soldier 76: Travels at 8.33 meters per second, taking him 12.02 seconds.

Hi everyone. Once more I would like to address the constant battle between Overwatch and TF2. I had no intention of being biased to *either* of the games as I just make videos. This isn't an essay on why either is better than the other. I also wanted to measure both of them at PEAK potential. Which required the buffing of the scout, if Lucio had any ults or abilities that needed charging (that gave him a speed boost) I would've given it to him immediately. It just so happens that the Scout was placed at such high speeds.

It seems the he and Lucio should each use their buffs around the same time even though Lucio's has a shorter duration. Not gonna bother with showing the calcs, but even with the highest estimate for Lucio's Amp It Up (the one from the wiki, 14.91m/s), Scout still wins by approx .6 seconds. Other interesting things: - In a no-ability race, Soldier 76 is perhaps the only hero that can outrun the Scout. Yes, it's because of his Sprint _ability_, but it only involves him, yknow, sprinting and not using any weapons/buff ect. That's allowed in my book. - Scout wins versus Reinhardt in an ability race. Without buffs, Scout loses: Charge is too fast. - Make a Reinhardt vs Demoman episode, with their abilities being the Charge and Bootlegger + Chargin' Targe charge + four Eyelander heads, respectively. The results are surprisingly close and won't disappoint you.

Two things: 1. If you incorrectly calculated the Scout's speed then that means that the Tracer V Scout video is incorrect and may even result in Tracer winning if recalculated. [EDIT: Yeah I just checked your old video against this one and I was right, with the corrected Scout speed Tracer wins in the 100m dash by 0.875 seconds.] 2. The Lúcio speed boost speed is 11.66 because the speed gun gives Lúcio a speed buff to his default (healing) speed, the boost then amplifies it making his speed 110% of his healing mode walking speed not his speed mode walking speed. Therefore 5.5 x 2.1 = 11.66 making that the correct speed measurement.

Letting the scout shoot someone could be considered to be unfair as it was supposed to be a race between Lucio and the scout in a non-combative environment. Lucio's abilities can all be achieved without any teammates or enemies, if we include enemies you could also say that we include teammates, if we would include teammates we could include Ana, if we could include Ana we have a 50% speed boost for 8 seconds. EDIT: I have accepted defeat at this point, the Scout is probably faster then Lucio.

They are not, but you add an additional variable outside of the two who are racing, if he got to have someone to strengthen him(an enemy to kill) then you could argue that Lucio should be able to have an ally to help him(aka Ana). (Note: I don't play TF2, so I don't know if they also have characters that can speed up other characters, in which case my argument is pretty much invalidated automaticly)

If we're going by Archie Sonic. He can run around the earth in 4 seconds in base young form; But if we're going with base Modern game Sonic, he can momentarily outrun a black-hole putting him just below the speed of light and if we're going Classic Sonic, we can see him dash up a chain in an instant and create a Sonic boom. Even Boom-Sonic could likely beat Mario in a foot-race, Matpat compared Mario going on a flat stretch of land to Sonic's more bumpy landscape. I would love to see this one done again since there have been a few changes to both characters, Lucio's wall riding combined with amp it up as well as a wall jump gives him ridiculous speed, although the speed boost from amp it up was reduced. Scout also had the speed buff removed from the crit a cola from Jungle Inferno.

It's a non combat environment in the sense that they're not able to shoot each other, but can interact with other people. Scout would not be able to damage Lucio therefor Lucio would not be able to push him back. I also looked on pages for both wallride and amp it up and there is no mention of a speed increase while wall-riding for either.

What about Winston with an ult ready? You can do a jumpack jump, activate the ult, then jump again and every jump after that is a 2 second cooldown... Also make sure every jump you do is 45 degrees to achieve maximum lenght of jump (not gonna explain why, but I learned highschool physics so take my word for it...). what are you talking about? what ult? also, these races are patently unfair. the question is who is faster WITH BASE STATS. in the no abilities race, tracer/lucio are stripped of all their unique stats, whereas the scout works as he starts. in the normal abilities race, the scout gets access to a huge arsenal. and heres the biggest issue: HES ALLOWED TO SHOOT SOMEONE FIRST. if hes allowed to shoot someone at a race, then lucio is allowed to knock him backwards with his secondary fire, and to pick a raceway with a large wall on the side to oost his speed as he wall-rides. only fair, right? and at that point, you may as well make it a fight instead of a race, with people getting shot all over the place.

you can bhop in tf2 even as scout with well timed jumps. you can go 20% faster than your max speed. 520-624hu/s, 11.88m/s. you said taking all their abilities into account. you only lose boost with baby faces blaster when you mid-air jump. single hop bhopping is possible. you could even gain additional speed while having the winger equipped as it grants 25% higher jumps.

Actually, Overwatch and TF2 are diffrent games. So overall the speeds are other. Overwatch have own speeds and TF2 too have own speed. No matter what Lucio is fastest in Overwatch, and Scout is fastest in TF2 end.

Smaller, condensed maps will require lower speeds to travel the same distance relatively (% of map size). So yes, one character is overall faster (the scout), but in each world, the speed only matters relative to the map size, and relative to the game's other characters. So at the end of the day, making the comparison doesn't make the measurable advantage of speed complete without far more factors.

That is actually wrong Lucio is not the fastest in overwatch he is the highest maintained speed , fastest normal speed without speed buffs from other character is reinhardt which clocks in at 16.66 m/s while lucio's with increased speed is 11.66. Reinhardts ability only last for 55 meters though.

"Scout is the most mobile merc in TF2" untrue in almost any comp game mode for TF2 both the Demo and the Soldier get to mid first. The Soldier maybe one of the slowest classes in the game but RJing can get you cross map in a matter of seconds.
