Karlach is my favorite character by a wide margin and her ending makes me burst into tears every. Damn. Time. 😭 My Tav absolutely went to Avernus with her.

In my playthrough, I romanced Shadowheart, but I joined Karlach and Wyll at the end. I didn't want her to die, or be alone. I love how in the epilogue, Shadowheart was ok and understood why I did what I did, saying that she knows I'll come back for good, but that for now, I need to be there for Karlach. Karlach also glows that blue hue if you make that choice, and as someone who, IRL, has been in a polyam relationship, I like to head canon that me, Karlach, and Shadowheart will one day chill together once everything is figured out.

As I understand it, Karlach's Infernal Engine is a prototype for the Engines in the Steel Watch.....so that may have been part of the bargain with Zariel.

If there were another update letting Karlach go to the house of hope it would be a nice way to tie a couple of companion quests together and incentivise defeating Raphael.

Great video! Karlach is my favorite companion along with Lae’zel. There is a way to save Karlach where she doesn’t become a mindflayer. *SPOILERS AHEAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED* If you play as Karlach as an origin character, romance Gale, and help him claim the crown. When he ascends to godhood he will also ascend Karlach. Fixing her engine, retaining her soul, AND she gets to become a god. There’s also a super cute cutscene

Fr thought you were gonna end that sentence: “The fact remains that she’s a mind-flayer now, and a big part of her personality was not being a mind-flayer.” 😂 It is funny that BG3 is now on my shelf next to Prey (2017) and Soma in terms of “games that make you ask what a person is if not the sum of their memories.”

My favorite ending is Origin karlach romance gale Gale becomes god and takes her to Elysium to not have to suffer anymore it's 999/10 better than having to spend her rest of her days in hell having to fight for survival

When we defeated Gortash and she broke down, I felt hurt for her. So much and I usually am not a empatheic person. She would make a great mum honestly......though leave the cigars out of the equation.
