My mum isn't in any religion, but she loved the story of Lilith as Adams first wife so much, that she named me Lilith (it's my second name). At school I had the subject religion. One day when I was six or seven years old my teacher asked me if I knew where the name was from and I said it was Adams first wife and she didn't belive me... All I can remember was that she said that my mum was stupid to name me after a demon. The next week my mum printed out copy of a well known dictonary explaining the story of Lilith and took that to my teacher.

@@TREYtheExplainer Hey, the actual myth- history of the stories and how they changed over the centuries is super interesting. I think most atheists agree with me- or would if they saw your videos. I've never been in any church services or masses or whatever they're called, but I've became more and more interested in these origin stories over the years. All the hints to the even older stories...fascinating. LIlith was also one of my favourite things form the old bible lore.

There is a word in Arabic similar to "Qippoz" which is "كابوس" Kabos < it means nightmare but it can describe a mythical creature as the word means also the one who sits on your chest (while sleeping inducing nightmare) which causes Sleep paralysis. Maybe this word is related to the original Hebrew word.

It make no sense at all. This is put out by a non believer and should be taken as such. Chapters 1 and 2 was written by Moses, that is it, no one else and both chapters are about the 6th day of creation. Chapter 1 tells the reader that God created male and female. Then on the 7th day God rested. Chapter 2 just goes into more detail of the creation of the two. That's it, nothing more. Moses tells us that God senses Adam's loneliness so He makes a help mate by putting Adam in a deep sleep then takes a rib from his side. From this rib He creates Eve. Remember, this is still the six day of creation, in chapter 1. There is no Lilith, who disobeys and runs off, that is ridiculous. If the Lilith story is true, then God is not who He says He is, sovereign. Chapter 3, the fall of man, is meaningless, Lilith would have already sinned against God, the rest of the Bible, bogus. Just like the word "day" in Genesis 1 meaning millions of years, is just impossible, so Lilith being created in chapter 1 and Eve in chapter 2, also impossible.

I literally started wheezing when I realised that there is a possibility that some of the people in ancient times heard a desert owl (Strix hadorami) sometime in the night and got scared shitless after seeing them stare back at them with their big ol eyes. I love how Trey's consistent premise is that all sorts of cryptids and religious creatures around the world have possibly been mistaken for owls. This is amazing. Edit: just watched the rest of the video and my point still stands. I wouldn't be surprised if the demon herself was inspired by the creatures of the night, so while she wasn't necessarily an owl in the original designs, that doesn't change the possibility of humans getting scared by owls throughout eons.

Every civilization reaches its apex with an order of esoteric mystics and warrior poets. God does exist, and he makes himself known to people who want to understand. Few people are curious though, and are satisfied with the bullshit rituals and empty platitudes because it provides security, identity, etc. For the curious though, there are frontiers of being worth pursuing if you are capable of asking the right questions.

From my research, (correct me if I'm wrong I'm not an expert I'm just writing an ameteur essay on the origins of writing, I'm not qualified in linguistics or history) i understand that the epic of gilgamesh is the oldest piece of fiction discovered, and with the Mesopotamian culture being as influential to the surrounding areas as it was it shouldnt be surprising to see many similarities. However i do think the sheer amount of similarities is pretty incredible, it seems like the epic of gilgamesh is the root for a huge amount of tales and mythology and while to me its not strange to see links to Gilgamesh every now and again I am always surprised to see how, quite frankly, astoundingly influential the poem really was.

In 2006, I heard about Lilith, Adam’s first wife, on the History Channel. A few days later, I was forced to go to synagogue (my family is Jewish.) So, bored out of my mind, I started looking for Lillith in the English translation of the Old Testament in Genesis and couldn’t find her. Thank you for all this info. Im trying to write a fictional novel ( Im just an amateur really ). When I first read/heard about lilith, I conjured a story in my mind that goes like this : Adam and Lilith was created by God Lilith was too evil so God banished her away from the Garden of Eden. Lilith met lucifer ( who was already banished from heaven ) and asked lilith to trick Adam and Eve onto eating the fruit of the tree of good and evil Lilith sneaked into the the garden and disguised herself as a serpent ( with legs. In Biology it is believed that snakes had legs before they evolved into their current form by the way ) and tricked eve onto eating the fruit. God punished lilith ( who was still in a form of a snake ) and removed her arms and legs God then banishes Adam and Eve from the garden who are now mortals. On the other side of the story the Angel Azrael was the keeper of the Garden of Eden. Using his tool the scythe to cut grass and keep the garden neat and tidy. As he was the keeper of the garden, God told Azrael to keep an eye on Adam and Eve to make sure they don't eat the fruit from the forbidden tree. Since Azrael failed on keeping Adam and Eve from eating the fruit of the forbidden tree, he was punished by God by changing his task from being the keeper of the Garden ( he loved being the keeper of the garden ) to being the keeper of life and death. And so so now Azrael cuts life with his scythe regardless if it was long or short just like how he used to cut the grass in the Garden of Eden regardless if the grass was tall or not. Thus he became the Angel of Death.

Thanks for showing a picture of a barn owl, which makes a loud screeching sound, as opposed to a screech owl, which makes a peaceful trill call. People unfamiliar with the barn owl's call often get very frightened if they hear it at night and don't know it's source. Same thing with the Lilith perhaps.

Diavolo, however can ignore his fate for those 10 seconds and move freely in an intangible state meaning he can't attack himself or take damage in "erased time". Once the 10 seconds run out however, he can instantly attack but he can only be in one place. He can trick people unaware of his ability by taunting them just before skipping time so they attack then but the attack will just faze through him and hit whatever's on the other side due to its inertia, be it another person or an object. How do you think a mind is supposed to react if its destiny is completely changed? It gets severely disoriented. In essence, king crimson is the original D4C, it can create a space were its own misfortune is negated and it can heal or essentially create a new user that has the same memories and motivation as the previous one. About some theoretical matchups: The world inserts actual time in a timeline, adding extra fate where diaVolo has no control over since no actual time oasses, that is to day there are no fated events in between a fraction of an instant. Essentially king crimson gets donuted. Against killer queen, in direct combat diavolo can be as reckless as he wants because he can negate the first bomb detonating or prevent him getting touched. If kira uses bites the dust on him, the first time he will blow up and time will rewind, the second time, king crimson will protect him from exploding meaning only kira gets sent back in time while the rest of the world just continues the timeline loop free while kira and whoever the bomb was planted on (it's not clear whether the host has to be a stand user or not since we only saw it on Hayato and the Paramedic lady who, as far a s we know weren't stand users) are stuck in the 1 hour loop, unfortunately he is unaware of what happens in each rewind, besides what he can glean from the people around him, he might therefore never figure it out and have trapped himself. King crimson against king crimson is a stalemate but eventually boils down to which diavolo uses it the least, making it a very hardboiled and stamina driven battle. If diavolo uses king crimson while time reaches a singularity point caused by made in heaven, he can temporarily avoid being compressed to the point from which the big bang sprung. Thus however is only in 10 second intervals and relies on diavolo's stamina, that is if earth wasn't destroyed already or he simply dies of old age which once again depends on his stamina. Her his future sight is severely shitrend because of course that time frame is accelerated. Made in heaven could sneak up on him like that already, preventing his personality and possibly his stand from returning in the new universe. D4C can get blitzed by king crimson while it positions itself just when it emerges with a new valentine. He would die yo the menger amalgamation though since it's a constant effect unless it happens within 10 seconds where he becomes intangible while the other diavolo is consumed, thereby removing the danger. Against love train he can't do anything really since it is a reaction effect that doesn't rely on fate but on instant reflection, making diavolo's attacks useless, he might be able to phaze through the screen and kill valentine inside it though.

Very interesting video! I checked my Norwegian copy of the bible and Lilith was just translated as Lilit, but qippoz was translated as "small owls" which I found interesting. The whole verse of the qippoz taken out of context just makes it sound like a children's verse about owls and falcons (not vultures) laying eggs.

Lilith as Adam's first wife and refusing to submit/obey was always my favourite church story despite the fact that she was clearly meant to be the bad guy, I had mad respect for that to the point that if I have a daughter I'm gonna call her Lilith lmao. Given the precedent set in the Nephilim video, there's more versions based on the religion. Elohim referring to all gods of the world and Yahweh being the Hebrew God, they could be taken as related. Each pantheon has an origin of man where the gods create man and woman, and later elaborates on how Yahweh created his first man and woman.

The multiple tellings of the same story sounds a lot like what is found in the Nihon Shoki. It deals with the origin story of Japan and the author or authors will write a story once and then might do it again saying something like 'it has also been said that' or 'in another account it went like', usually the versions are only slightly different.
