I’d normally roll my eyes at a hero built like this but given that he is a generator that sustains himself and his powers it makes sense. Plus he seems pretty cool. I agree with someone comment that Marvel should maybe consider him as their Superman where he serves as a stabilizing influence on earth.

I think the main issue characters like Blue Marvel (and by proxy, Superman) suffer is that very few writers know how to actually write them and keep them compelling. Its sad, but true. Cause Blue Marvel is an amazing character. Its a shame he hasn't been used more effectively lately, but I have a feeling we will see him back soon.

I think BM is a cool character. I'd like to see Marvel flesh him out a bit more. They could go in on his scientific area. I mean he's alot than he looks so he could very advance. They could also deal more with his experience in USMC and civil rights piece. They opened the door with Black Panther. I'm not saying it's got to be radical just realistic. I would love for them to do that. Maybe like you said, do a prequel series, even before Adam: Legend of Blue Marvel. Show what he went through that whole time. Dealing with hate on both sides of the fence. Its a good story with so much potential. I would like to see if they do anything with him. The Ultimates last issue kind of implied there was more to come, but not sure if it got canceled or just put on hiatus. Either way they need to be using Blue Marvel more. 💯 Plus Ultra, my friend!

Well as an alternative, how about Blair Underwood. I know he had a reoccurring role on Marvels Agents of Shield, but they killed him off. I feel like Adam has a certain amount of gravitas to his character and Blair can pull that off. +Hammond In the Marvel 616 universe you already have Sam Wilson (Falcon), Blade, Sentry, Spectrum (Monica Rambeau), Misty Knight, Bishop, STorm and Luke Cage among others lol. Don't have to be sarcastic. Just read marvel comics and do your research. And Blerd is a big fan of BP, so am I and a lot of marvel fans, way before the movie. He's a cool character. And what's wrong with Africa, which is a continent with lots of different countries, if the character is written well who cares? lol

Marvel doesn't know what to do with Blue Marvel. When he appears in the comics now, he never appears in the fights. He will be in the panel before and then just not be in the fight. An Ultimates animated adaptation feature Blue Marvel and Company would be great! Ride the Captain Marvel wave, then surprise everyone with more dope heroes. The Ultimates is a pretty good run. It’ll be first time Black Panther was featured on TV since the BET days, we get to see Monica show off what real energy manipulation looks like and Captain Marvel gets more character development

Not sleeping has to be terrible. Not because of not being able to rest. Yet sleeping allows your brain to stop processing and relax. This qualms your emotions and psyche. Basically helps to keep you level headed. A person who doesn't sleep has to be stern as all hell. Like a drill sargent x10. Being they are constantly trying to center themselves naturally. Yet I guess if he wants to cool off he can just fly off to Hawaii or something. Guess the powers and the ability to escape helps.

A movie in the late 1940's early 1950's could introduce a lot of the early Marvel characters including BM. Jimmy Woo's Avengers, All Winner Squad, 3D Man, the Crimson Commando, Stonewall, Namor etc.

So what is he like as a character? He looks really cool and while it is a little off putting for him to have so much going on (Mega genius, ex-soldier, tones of applications for his super powers making him like a mix of superman, green lantern and doctor fate, crazy number of accomplishments) I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. I love a good superman book and he has arguably even more going on. So what can be said about his personality? Some of the panels had him looking kinda somber, while others made him look very lively, so it is a bit hard to get a read on what he is like. Is he a super responsible dude, all about doing the right thing because he hates injustice? Is he a super passionate scientist that loves to explore the untouched possibilities about the world? Is he a super goofy and lovable jokester that loves making people smile? Is he some combo of the ones listed, maybe something I didn't list? I would really like to know more about him before looking into his books, otherwise I'm only picking up the book because he looks cool (Which isn't a bad thing, I love the color balance with his costume, but I would prefer to know if I was going to go into one of his books thinking he was cool for more than just his suit and his powers.)

Depends on who he's around. He's fairly straight forward and serious, but when he's around Monica Rambeau, he softens up. When he's around T'Challa he tightens up some, but still knows how to take a joke. When he's with Mister Fantastic, its always business. Just depends. Lots of variables. For the most part, he's as "responsible" as any other hero. Probably takes the job more seriously than some. He's kind of a mixed bag of things. I will definitely say he's more laid back in The Ultimates comics, though.

Thats how you get the DCEU lol. Marvel is making more movies with characters of color and different genders, but they only release 2... occasionally 3 a year. I'd rather them take their sweet ass time and get it right, like Black Panther. Than rush some ish to the theater 💯

Trouble is, like with most uber powerful characters, he's hard to write for. Same problem Supes always had. Same reason Doctor Manhattan works better as an ensemble character. An indestructible god tier man typically has very little to be afraid of.

Seriously, what is the point of characters like BM or Sentry, or anyone else like that? Cosmic-level beings more powerful than everyone else with 50+ year histories, right at the jump? There is no history earning of said powers, they just ARE. He is the just the "best" at everything with no weaknesses. What's worse, they are retconned into "real" continuity, not even introduced as all-new. What kind of BS is that? What major crossover event over the last 20-30 years could not have been resolved single-handed by BM if he actually was around?

If u really followed comics in DC only Superman, Martion Manhunter, and Shazam was all in the same power rankings Wonder Woman and Aquaman was way below them but DC gave them a crazy power boost, Marvel had a lot of characters in that power range but know black characters the same with DC so Icon and Blue Marvel both was welcome with powers of strength and other abilities different from the others but DC but Icon waste side Marvel is using Blue Marvel in a lot of their stories he's a great character one of my favorite

Agreed except that those characters had decades of history to grow to what they became. They were not what they are now from issue 1. Did Supes even fly? The Hulk is another ridiculously super-crazy OP character, but he didn't start that way, and evolved over time. BM and Sentry were introduced as god-level entities, and bypassed any type of growth or development by saying they were around all along, it was all off-page. But they did exist in the world, and all the other heroes knew about them? Seems super silly, and quite frankly, lazy. This kind of stuff is OK for a one-shot, cross-over event type supervillain (ie the types of characters DC has had to create to deal with the likes of Supes), but for not characters that are supposed to carry a title.

Blue Marvel was around when President Kennedy was in office in Marvel him and Sentry, Marvel needed these two characters to compete with DC because DC was making all their characters gods, and Blue Marvel was a two way moneymaker he bought in more black people who wanted a character like him, DC blow it with Icon another great character that is black who would help sell more comics, and I love these kind of characters, and cosmic characters all the God like characters

An Ultimates movie would be far more likely. Though I have ideas of how you make a Blue Marvel movie. You could easily make it the first superhero civil rights movie, which is in line with his origin. Let his struggle be trying to live in a world where some people are scared of what he is, while others think he should do something to change the world. And then just use Anti-Man as the villain. He wouldn't be the most imposing villain, but he'd be someone BM would not want to fight
