Yeah, Synch was great, Jubilee, Monet, Skin, Paige, Chamber..Generation X was such an interesting team. My favorite issue was the one where the team had to save Emma Frost when she was captured by Marrow.

They have a chance to bring these characters back to the current main X storylines. I'd love to see a short-run storyline from Evertt's point of view. When he synch's up, to see how he sees a person's power. I'd imagine he learns more about it objectively than anyone who has had to experiment with their powers to learn them. @@bebeheart5128 After they killed Synch, I gave up on X-MEN related fare for years, and never read anything else from that writer again. I was that pissed off at how they did him. Neither D.C. nor Marvel really give a damn about Black characters. Except showing them as somehow weak and unbalanced compared to the white characters. They may push Storm, maybe Cyborg, but that's it. For me, Generation X ended with Monet returning to Emma's academy after that vampire hunting arc.

When you have "us" in the room, the story turns out hella different. Its better than what it used to be now, but thats not necessarily anything to brag about. We still have a long way to go getting more representation in the industry

I have an obscure one for you. On the WildStorm imprint of Image Comics, Warren Ellis wrote a super team comic called StormWatch about a UN peacekeeping force. The thing that made it interesting was that the field leader was black and their main villain was his father. It was cool for a minute. May be a good thing to do a review of.

Plus with her all her abilities she's a beast. The psychic abilities, the super strength, super speed, super hearing, healing and endurance she's a monster. I wish they would place her on a good team or give her a mini soon.

Depends. Darwin technically has the potential to be more powerful, but if he gets overwhelmed his body does have the tendency to respond in ways that aren't physical. Like when he fought Hulk. His body just removed him from the situation. That said, Synch can overload other mutants powers... So if he duped Darwin's abilities... He'd likely be more powerful

I don't know how this video escaped my noticed. Synch was the reason I read Generation X when it came out (I'm dating myself). But I didn't read it solely because he was one of the few black X-Men (that list is still small). I liked his power set, even though it was co-dependent and he was a character that was new and different at the time, predating Hope Summers by almost 20 years. But like a lot of characters of color at the time, they did little to flesh them out and just straight up killed them half the time. Criminal.

I think Generation X as a whole is underrated... not just Synch. Part of the problem with Everett in general may have been that his power is dependent on other people, but unlike Rogue didn't have anything permanent stick. Perhaps if there was a less flattering power that would flair up every now and then. He was a good character, put his power didn't "pop," and on a tram that is important to draw attention... and sell action figures.

I don't think his powers having "flair" really had anything to do with it. I think it was just that people typically don't know how to write characters with broken power sets long term
