Mooji is a spiritual motivation speaker with the tendency to manipulate the seekers about the spiritual enlightenment, the spiritual path, and his invitations. He could also be lightly called a “spiritual fast food” guru with the instant “spiritual good coffee” awakening, because he has had some hidden intentions and long-term goals. He is mostly driven by his need to constantly talk to others and be loved by others, he has always chased fame to be like R. Maharshi and Papaji and he has intensely created a cult of the guru with the all including sexual benefits. In addition Mooji does not have any big problems to talk about spiritual experiences or the pointing out that he has never had or practiced.

💡I think it's like anything else in life...if someone (including Mooji) says something that resonates with you or helps you great...go with it, if it doesn't leave it and move on. Why make such a big deal or fight about if he's "real" or not? 🤔

Atlanta, Mooji has invited people to Monte Sahaja every year, has asked for donations, organized paid retreats in Portugal, recorded/put on YT several videos about medical /mental-sensitive problems of his followers, published/read private letters, and atc., On the other hand, Mooji has consequently avoided any private and domestic questions regarding to his person, relationships, and ashram financing during talks. Mooji is not a private person anymore and many people got already financially or emotionally involved in that, what's going on in Monte Sahaja. Mooji has hidden intentions and desires. facebook.com/moojiji/videos/10154919627233962/

Why fixate on a character or an image of Mooji that has no inherent existence. There is a trap of falsely idolizing mentors which leads again to authority of mind making you blind. 'Mooji' in transience facilitates some great advice but please don't fixate or become identify-ist. The thinking mind is best loose,flexible, let go and easy, not overly dense with authority. An interested comment at The Mooji a cult?, by Constantin, on October 25, 2018: Hello Everyone! I was very happy to read this thread since many things that are said here have been watched here first hand. I have been with Mooji and later here at Sahaja since 2011. Its very hard difficult to get out of this cult because the amount of bliss one can receive, or seemingly so. But red flags kept coming over the years and now.....well it's not a question any more. Mooji is a cult. The amount of evidence is overwhelming. We can go into detail all day, but i wish to make a few points that have not come to light in this thread so far. Firstly Moo likes to control peoples lives, down to who they have sex with with. And because of this there are people going around to see who is sleeping with who. Furthermore Moo has two faces, one in satsang, where he is lovely and friendly, and then there is the other guy who is very bad tempered and can be callus, rough and will talk behind your back. Mooji does not follow through with things he says and promises. He makes big meetings about something very important, but then nothing happens. So the outcome is more and more politics and power games within the Ashram. And again I would like to point out that many of the stories you hear about Moo cult are true, of course not all of it. We always have to watch out for BS. So thank you all again for this thread, truth is more important than farce.

I discovered Dr. Paul Brunton many decades ago in a book shop in London. I bought the book - and many others to follow. Thank you for your views on Mooji. Thank you for your words. I'm going through a rough time of insecurity and fear - why I am here listening to your insight.

Mooji is not the man, not the person, he is the message. Christ is a title, meaning "the anointed one". From the ancient Egyptian KRST. Don't pay attention to Mooji the man, focus on Mooji's message, for it is the same message that all Bodhisattvas have spoken since time immemorial.

MPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MOOJI FOUNDATION 31 JANUARY 2019 In recent weeks, it has come to our attention that certain individuals - many anonymous - have taken to digital platforms to spread false and harmful rumours about our teacher, Mooji, and this great community that we have built out of love, trust, and a quest for Truth. It is with sadness that we read such unfounded rumours. In our hearts we know that it is the truth that will ultimately endure. It is of utmost importance to the Mooji Foundation and to Moojibaba himself that you, our beloved worldwide community, feel the warmth of his presence, the beauty in his wisdom, and his loving guidance above all. We have therefore included a video message here from Mooji. Moojibaba strongly rejects and refutes any statements levied against him that suggest he acted in any way with improper or nefarious intent. This is simply false. Moojibaba is dedicated to the self-realisation and freedom of every genuine seeker of Truth; indeed, this is his life’s work. He wishes well even the cynics, but we will not stand by while anonymous individuals baselessly mud-sling and defame him and the community, for their own personal self-interest and gain. We have sought counsel to guide us as to potential courses of action, and will pursue any and all remedies available in order to uphold Mooji’s good name, goodwill and reputation. Anyone who feels to be in touch with genuine questions about this topic, please email our team at ContactUs@mooji.org. We are with you in spirit and Truth, Mooji Foundation Ltd

Mooji is not a real spiritual master but more a spiritual teacher or therapist, because he sleeps with his young devotees, his girlfriends have been about 35-40 years younger than him, and because he has built up a cult of enlightened person in his ashram. For instance; on video Mooji - Sri Mooji will be sharing Satsang at Swatatranand Ashram In Rishikesh ’16: Krishnabai, she pushes the cart with Mooji's stuff, she is Mooji’s “personal” assistant at -3:22 and Mooji;s girlfriend is at -1.50. facebook.com/moojiji/videos/10153588339368962

Are you the one to judge who is and who isnt a spiritual Master? Even if he is sleeping with young devotees how does that exclude him from mastery? lord Krsna had 16000 female admirers does that mean he is no longer supreme personality of godhead?
@SilvrSeven7 жыл бұрын
People see women travelling with him sometimes and think that is proof enough to say hes sleeping with them or manipulating or exploiting them. The main reason being that some of these women are really attractive. Admit it, thats all you have to base this on.
@rosemoon80727 жыл бұрын
that is a worrying comment, Timaeon, that just made you less trustworthy .... that opens up the way to the kind of awful abuse that women experience at the hands of gurus .. I am appalled .. a true master would not exploit young devotees !!! young devotees are hugely vulnerable to that kind of behaviour when they are seeking a male authority for their sense of safety .. why do men always feel its fine to use young women in this way ... exploiting their vulnerability ... Any teacher of integrity would not fall into this trap.... I am really shocked you would say that .. it probably refects some distortion of your own and maybe you feel its ok .. there is ample opportunity in these guru follower realms where people are opening themselves up completely and in trust .. a true master should at the very least have mastered that aspect of his desires .. . If you were a mother of a daughter you could no way say 'does sleeping with his young devotees exclude him from mastery ! "??? Actually YES ! ...one like this might be a 'spiritual master' but he could no longer be deemed an honest spiritual guide or a moral man worthy of true respect and trust If a priest in a local church was doing the same thing we would not feel it was ok or right. And Sai Baba was allowed to get away with molesting young boys becuase he was a 'God ? Not ok, but somehow culturally accepted. I do not believe that Mooji would be abusive like this .. however, if he has a girlfriend, partner , woman of equal human standing (not just a fawning adoring handmaiden that quiet patriarchs enjoy around them, but a real, fully present in her own being, woman !) then he would honour her by making this open knowledge ... because this would protect some who might come to him with confused notions about the kind of of love he is offering ... it would make his teachings more clear. .... I am sure that for a man the thought of 16000 female admirers would be rather attractive becuase the vanity of the male ego can take some erasing ! But allowing space for this kind of projection of fantasies has nothing to do with moral integrity ...and perhaps this 'hiding ' of a normal human relationship and partnership is a subtle attraction that is NOT entirely safe for more vulnerable souls ... He has great charisma and appears to me to be a truly honest man in most respects ... but he still leaves this door open and if one of those girls is his partner, then it should be more widely known.
@pardeepparkash3987 жыл бұрын
is this based on hard evidence or mere hearsay ? if the latter , then you should not make untruthful comments

@Ales Dostal, Mooji is a healthy young man so why should he not have a healthy sex life? He doesn't look needy, however it is his private life and why are we to discuss it? If Grace has it that he can encounter Beautiful Beings with Pure Hearts and Selves with whom he can engage in meaningful private relationships, I'm so glad! Let's look inside and do our best and pray for us to be lucky enough to be in such an interaction at least once in our lives. Love and Let Love
@alesdostal17 жыл бұрын
Alicia, Mooji’s sex life is promiscuities, he is 64 old and his other girlfriend Krisnabai is 25 {no marriage, no kids, no future). It indicates that Mooji has sexual desires and attachments, and therefore he is not real spiritual advanced being, and what he speaks may not be the truth. The Monte Sahaja is not a real spiritual ashram, but more likely a camp for the love, spirituality, and intimate relations. A lot of young singles and couples come and live in Monte Sahaja and also outside of Monte Sahaja in rented farm houses. It’s fine with me, but Mooji remains a spiritual unprofessional teacher for me.
@AliciaKonHealth7 жыл бұрын
You are judging, Ales. Mooji never said he went to Alentejo to set up an ashram in the first place, he could have remained in Brixton for all that matters. He is consequential with what he creates and coherent with what he says and if it is good for them not to marry or have kids, obviously Grace or Life has other plans for them. I maintain - let's not project and judge from our little corner, Life will always surprise us! And it will always turn out to be either positive or negative in this changing reality. However how am I without access to the whole picture to judge? Anyway, my Self can 'see' or feel as it is God as well and don't feel Mooji is a dissonant note, but you are my Friend. Clean your instrument

Hi Cid K I am copying your thoughtful response to me via my email here as I could not find it on this page. "Hi mrnibelheim, thanks so much for your reply. I love Rupert Spria and his teachings and I don't necessarily think we are saying anything that contradicts. It's my understanding that there is still a personality that remains with the enlightened master, with it's preferences and quirks, and those things can be irritating to others - but I think you can confuse idiosyncrasies of personality with misbehavior, and they are not the same. From watching David Godman's series on Ramana Maharshi, he was quite fastidious about food preperation and wastefullness; whereas, Papaji was the opposite and a collecter of stuff. If you look at us all as musical instruments, a flute sounds completely different than a tuba, but it is the same breath that moves through us all - thus the personality differences between us. I think the real trouble comes from not recognizing that the same god, spirit, power, grace that moved through those vessels that Rupert listed in his talk, moves through us.... right now. So to elevate the vehicle is to miss the point and keep yourself in bondage to what you also are. To idealize anyone is to keep your true nature unacknowledged and in darkness. But then, these were fully realized beings, and I don't think I've encountered a modern equivalent to the list provided by Rupert. This in my humble opinion as I am not anyone to know experientially. I think the verse in the bible "by their fruit you shall know them" is a really good measuring stick to gauge whether you want to give your trust to another. Hypothetically, the kind of misuse and misbehavior spoken about in this thread (if it were true, to which I haven't seen any evidence thus far) would be a really good indicator to me that I should look elsewhere. Not in a judgmental way, it's just not the behavior I choose to emulate or endorse." As I can also not claim to be self-realized, I can only agree with you. Your argument is very well put, thank you! I would also not want to be around a teacher who exploits or mistreats others. However, I do try to keep an open mind. Some of my teachers are very annoying - but nothing extreme such as sexual exploitation, emotional cruelty or money-grabbing - but I keep learning from them, almost against my will.

There are several Masters who are teaching as Mooji teaches but without all the nonsense of some(most?) of his followers. I met Mooji and spent time with him and he is very sincere and in fact quite extraordinary, but the show that goes on around him, to me, is off putting. One of the clearest teachers/Masters (although he would never call himself that), humble and unassuming, as well as having great clarity is Rupert Spira.
@rosemoon80727 жыл бұрын
each to his / her own .... I too find the prancing about him a bit nauseating at times ... bu maybe its a kind of cynicism like when we watch people in love .... others intimacy and in loveness i always a bit uncomfortbale for onlookers !!!!! maybe its like this ... but also people bring so much of their personal pain to him also .... I try not to be distracted by it because his message is so clear and unusually grounded ! Same light ... different lampshades ... the personality is imortant in the end because not every lampshade appeals to everyone ... even if there is only one light.. noone is more right or wrong ... just what appeals or not. the message cannot be contaminated in the end since it is beyond that level of being.
@alesdostal17 жыл бұрын
Rose, "his message is so clear and unusually grounded". I think that Mooji only adopted and took over the E. Tolle's teachings and replaced only the Tolle's Present Moment for the Presence or the Isness, even he began to call it the Pure Awareness or Pure Consciousness, and he presented that as an ultimate state. Mooji's messages have developed tremendously over the years from many nonsense talks like "forget the enlightenment..." or "can the seer be seen" to the today adopted Toll's teachings combined with the Mooji's instant awakening invitations. It could indicate that Mooji does not have enough own spiritual experience.
@tbayley67 жыл бұрын
"Forget enlightenment" is on point. If you are serious you eventually realise you are pursuing a projection, and that projection is an impediment. And I'm not sure why he would need to get his ideas from Tolle. They are common to the non-dual teaching of his 'master' Papaji, as well as Ramana and Nisargadatta. But best not to be wed to any of these characters. You must be your own satguru - as all of them have actually said.
@liuhui33957 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that seems to be the case with most "Masters".
@catlinmorgan7 жыл бұрын
The message is one and the same. However allowing people to kiss ones's feet and even some putting there fingers in his mouth! seems not to be putting the message across that what you are seeking in within yourself, and not to be found anywhere in a Master or anyone else no matter how 'enlightened' you perceive them to be be, they are simply an instrument to point you in the direction of your own Self.The message has been contaminated historically and that is a concern. Jesus never came to start a church or a religious belief but that is finally what became of it.

Mooji is a chance to get in contact with such a great master a very good example for a real root guru like RAMANA MAHARISHI was , he has produced so many realized masters that you cn be happy to have the opportunity to meet a real master ( not the big business guys who pretend to be what ever but are nothing better then someone who is able to read and recall the content of the teachings ) not so with Ramana Maharishi - then Papaji and Papaji made Mooji and so the transmission goes on and on . he lifes a simple and humble life despite the fact that he could make huge amounts of money ( but this is one sign of a master the fact that he is not interested in such things ) . for me personally he is a very precious gem of the advaita vedanta school or tradition , very charismatic as he radiates love , unconditional and not attached to anything . most of those who pretend to be a master like Rajneesh who called himself a master without any guru ( and contradict himself in mostly every third speech ( pretending to be an enlightened being is not that easy it is way more simple to tell the truth, in that case simply to say no i am no master i just have studied the scripts very well and i am used to talk to ppl for about 30 years every day ) , later he gave himself god like titles and collected RR automobiles , claiming that he is the guru for the rich , as there are enough for the poor ones as he says in a very arrogant way , he wants to take care of the rich , LOL i have huge respect for masters like Mooji with a lineage not self appointed but recognized by others ( like it should always be ) thanks to Mooji i came very close to Ramana Maharshi , such ppl are only born every hundred years if we are lucky . Namaskara Mooji , Namaskara Guru Papaji , Pranam and sooo many thanks to Ramana Maharishi who made all this possible . when you see Mooji talking to his students you can see his devotion and the love he radiates , there is no way to pretend this , either it is genuine or it is a fake and one can feel it specially when it comes to the lineage of Mooji . Om Namah Shivay and jai Maha Maya , ki jay , we can be happy to life in a time where such great beings are available for every no matter if he or she has money or not . my deepest respect . Om Tat Sat. greetings from germany where yoga and advaita vedanta gets more and more popular ( it was very different 30 years ago ) right now we can see the whole world waking up slowly but steady , thanks to such great beings , may their wishes become truth and may the world benefit from it as much as certain ppl have done it now is the time ( that´s my personal feeling but i am sure it is not wrong ) and thanks to the imposters as they make us clear what is real and what is only pretended to be real , thanks for this measuring tool or the pretenders .

You could say all these wonderful things about my mother. My comments about Mooji or any other guru is that the message TODAY is readily available on the internet: "you are what you're looking for." There is only one message: "look within to the self, the (great) I AM, "kingdom of heaven", etc" Ramana Maharshi said it best: "silence is the best form of worship." Of course, we are not the mind, worst, we identify and think we are that which is detrimental: the ego with a story. The stories differ, the I AM is the exact same in all of us. ALL thinking eventually leads to destruction this was perhaps what Jesus meant about the narrow vs wide road that many are on. THE problem with Jesus is that he didn't explain and the message of the I AM therefore is veiled, hidden in plain sight, why did they do this, probably they didn't know. The church IS the blind leading but that is another discussion. What I want to say is please don't worship any individual or entertain ANY story (they are all false), turn within, bypass the mind and all thought. One of the best "gurus" surprisingly is Candice O'Denver: "stop thinking for a moment, there it is" only because she tells you exactly what it is and how to find it the rest (gurus) babble on and on and on with stories and jokes that keep the gullible hooked... Another good one is: stillnessspeaks.com/images/uploaded/file/iamquotesofnisargadatta.pdf A Guru is a talking, walking arrow that should ONLY point to that which nobody wants to believe: they already have-are it: silence. The problem is of course that normally one finds out what the I AM is through words that are THE "destruction"....Alon Geva here on YT and Marc West out of Kingscross, Australia are also good. How honest and smart a Guru is in explaining the I AM should be the hallmarks one should look for...my 2 cents.

I have watched Alon Geva, thanks, he said the mind can not enter the pure awareness directly,, finally someone said that very clearly .....

When one is in the “kingdom of heaven” there is no mind; the mind can’t go there that is why we all have spent decades trying to figure out with the brain what cannot be figured out. The New Testament is great after you find out what it is... Also Mark West markwestsite.com/about/. good one is audio #1. Cheers!

Humans will always criticise. We cant help it. Just like we cant help our kidneys, we cant help our minds. Its job is to criticize and analyze. Thats it. As for Mooji. I truely wont know if he is enlightened or not because 1. I dont know what concept of "enlightenment" i can use to point out "his". Its conceptless. Hence technically " impossible" to point out because it cant be conceptuallized. So technically saying anyone is enlightened, or not, changes nothing. And 2. Im not him. Im me. What impact has he had on my life ? A great one. Thats all that matters.

with all respect, that sentenc is nonsensical
@timaeontalks28027 жыл бұрын
Perhaps if you considered it for a moment an understanding may emerge. As everything is essentially empty of inherent meaning and nothing is fixed how something is got or perceived is given by who one is being that it is."who one is being.." in this sense means the space you are for something, the listening you have for it, the perceptual filters engaged with it, what you are thinking, doing and saying about it, what issues are triggered by it, all of this constitutes who you are being that it is which gives you how you get it. if this were not so everyone would get everything the same way. Take Mooji for example to some people who are being that he is a master etc. that is how they get him, regardless of who he is to himself or others. Those who are being that he is bad and wrong for not fulfilling one of their expectations which they are holding as universal requirements see him in that light and so judge him as inauthentic.Is there a way he actually is ? No.Its all perception. Is he how he is got? No.There actually is no fixed way that he is. Regarding his association with women what determines whether it be appropriate, healthy and congruent is who he is being in those associations and it is this beingness that creates any outcomes. Mooji is open about who his partner is and who his assistants are. These women are not young victims as you seem to infer but conscious empowered individuals having a deep experience of service and devotion.As far as I am concerned what Mooji does in his private life is not my concern.

I enjoy Mooji very much, but I have reservations about students judging their masters by their personal and arbitrary criteria such as kindness, calmness and "speaking words of love." There have been many masters who are quite different, not conforming to the stereotype of the spiritual master at all because they are volatile, bad tempered, meat-eaters and sexually active. However, their very humanness is what challenges our preconceptions and our attempts at reforming ourselves into saints. If a master can be "imperfect" does that not make it clear that our imperfections are OK too, and that there is no work on ourselves that needs to be done?
@timaeontalks28027 жыл бұрын
That work you are talking about none ever completed it, there is no perfecting of the psychological self, who thought has told us we are, but the beauty of what Mooji speaks of is that regardless of how you find your psychological self you can just put that down, when you do , even for a moment , what remains?
@mrnibelheim7 жыл бұрын
Exactly, so there is no need to evaluate myself or my teacher?
@alesdostal17 жыл бұрын
Timaeon, what remains you ask? The psychological self still remains in a latent or a folded state. If it was so easy, there would be many more spiritual awaken beings around, why it is so rare to find only few people even in the enter-levels of enlightenment?
@alesdostal17 жыл бұрын
mrnibelheim, It's very important to recognize some criteria or signs of at least the enter levels of spiritual enlightenment in Mooji or not. It's very difficult to see this. Mooji is a kind of public figure (1000 video recordings, several books, retreat center, two foundations, invitations for the online audience.....). I do not want to follow a spiritual master, who later turns out to be a fake. A teacher or master could be imperfect but he should not to pretend the perfect one. Simply to be honest. But Mooji and his supporters say indirectly almost nothing exclude him from his spiritual mastery, "a guru may share physical love with many"....
@mrnibelheim7 жыл бұрын
Ales, you raise many interesting points, and I wish we could talk in person. In my view there are some long answers to these issues, and also a short answer. As I don't regard myself as capable of telling anyone the long answers, I will just give the short one that I find helpful, but I don't know if it will help anyone else. It is: You are already perfect, living the perfect life as an expression of God, the Divine, or Totality. But because we don't believe this, let alone accept it, we seek out teachers who teach us all sorts of complicated things, and when we are tired of their teachings and their practices we come back to where we started: right now, living the perfect life, even when it is uncomfortable and sometimes painful. Eckhart Tolle highlights this point when he asks, "How do you know this is the right thing which should be happening? Because it is happening." That's about as simple as it gets. But we can choose to complicate it, and if we do, that's also exactly the right thing to be happening. There is, and was, never a problem. I hope this makes some sense.

hey man you seem like you know whats going on, mooji talks the talk btu realy let me down and i dont think hes legit at all. shoots down the use of ayuasca, eats animals that have a life of awful suffering and tries to say that it doesnt matter, so hes giving people the go ahead to eat animals that are bascially in hell. but the ayauasca remark is what really put me off, he said that ayauasca can teach nothing of real value, but he can show you your real self. how can somebody who is meant to be a master speak of something so ignoarantly? he even compares it to alcohol haha.

Take whats good and leave the rest, it may well be that he has no experience of psychedelics, if you have then you dont need anyones permission or validation. In my experience ayauaska and LSD mescalin etc are really amazing but they induce extreme states of consciousness which change and are phenomenal therefore 'of the dream'. Awakening is brought about by uniting consciousness with awareness. Everything has its place in the grand scheme of things.
@williamfox95077 жыл бұрын
exactly he doesnt have any experience of these things, but I would imagine somebody who has united consiousness with awareness as you say, would not speak from assumption like that, speaking of things with authority without any experience is ignorance. also I dont agree that plant teachers are just dream states, san pedro awakens one from the dream into a vivid awarness and clarity, even if it is just trying to point us towards that state, thats all a teacher can do. mooji is just a dream character and his words are just words, he is not above plant teachers, who teach beyond words.
