He would take mine/others cards and BEND THEM almost 90 degrees when picking them up or putting them down. The second time he did it to mine I snapped and he immediately stopped luckily. As for a good 1v1 matchup, maybe a "Which commander is the most fun to play against?" between two interesting and/or politics-oriented commanders. As a Sen Triplets player this video makes me a bit salty. Like 70% of the games you don't even play your commander because there is never a 1 turn window and losing them usually means game over. And without triplets you usually don't even steal anything from your opponent, because triplets themselves don't actually have synergy with other cards that steal stuff. They have synergy with pillowfort cards, stax and artifact matters cards, maybe wizards. So if you are going to hate on the deck, at least hate on it for the right reasons. My build of this commander is pretty strong, but also somewhat tricky to pilot. Top Narset decks are usually really straightforward. If anyone wants to check out my build and discuss ideas, it would be a blast! tappedout.net/mtg-decks/eternal-empire-1/

Personally as someone who has a Triplets deck I know how annoying it is and I have played it.... I want to say at most once this year, perhaps not even once being honest. The reason is a mix of: A. I know it isn't the most fun deck to play against, having your stuff taken isn't that fun, it's got a seriously strong form of resource denial in that it gives you a card, plus that card's effect, while stripping that card from an opponent, which is DUMB. You can even play LANDS from their hand, fixing your mana to cast their spells. B. The only reason I find Narset to be more problematic is the innate Hexproof. The Triplets are SO, SO, SO, SO, SO, SO, SO easy to kill. Literally every color has an answer to them: White can spot remove any form of permanent. Blue can counter them, bounce them, or use things like Pongify. Black has creature removal in spades. Red has direct damage and they have a whopping 3 toughness so Bolt range and dedicated to artifact removal which they just so happen to be. Green even can deal with them for the same reasons as Red, low toughness for fight or the best color for Artifact removal. The Triplets are so ridiculously fragile it's not even funny.

Even after watching this, I would still say Narset is worse then sen triplets. My play group has both commanders in it and from experience Narset is definitely the more annoying commander to face, at least for our play group. My play group runs a lot of removal in it so Sen triplets is usually just a 5 mana force removal. By the time Sen Triplets does stick around, everyone is about out of cards already so its less effective. Narset on the other hand can't be removed unless someone basically has a board wipe and board wipes are a lot less common in our group so it almost always sticks. Finally while going off the Narset deck always just does the same thing, while Sen Triplets can be fun to see the ridiculous board states its able to create.

From what I can tell, Narset comes out on top here for the following reasons. 1) Equipping her with either Hammer of Nazahan or Darksteel Plate (or even just having an Eldrazi Monument) out in play makes here almost impossible to deal with once she's successfully cast. 2) The forementioned cards can all be cast for free from here own ability. 3) Extra Turn, Miracle and Copy target spell cards can potentially end the game from a single attack from Narset. Sample hit: Temporal Mastery, Mystical Tutor, Aminatou's Augury and Repeated Reverberation. Yeah. Lets recap shall we. 3a) Take an extra turn. 3b) Fetch any Instant and Sorcery and put it on top of your library. 3c) Exile top 8 (hopefully getting land drop) and then cast known tutored card + any other eligable cards without having to pay any mana. 4c) Repeat 3c's effect (Aminatou's Augury)... twice. Good game.

Honestly, I've played against both a LOT and own one of them. Narset is basically Jeskai Maelstrom Wanderer in that her entire purpose is to turn your deck into a barage of free spells that your opponents have to deal with, and I love that about playing the list. It is random, and even a bad Narset list can compete at a lot of tables. But I get why people dislike her, it isn't fun watching someone win (much less watching them taking 10-20 minutes to do so or just whiff). I've built in a lot of cards that I like to call "Scoop Conditions" so that if someone is playing against me and doesn't want to wait an eternity to lose, I put the table into a lock that they can't recover from. Sure it is frustrating to the unprepared player, and that is why I always clarify with the table what my goal is and why I have the list built that way. If they don't think these conditions can be avoided or that they can prevent the problem synergies I power down to a different list. I know Narset is powerful and degenerate, so is watching a Maelstrom Wanderer storm into oblivion for 11 minutes. But what I don't like about Sen Truplets is that many lists are built to acclimate to their group metas, and Sen Triplets can take an unfair advantage of that by pretending to be a casual list while actually having a really high potential to be a constant threat through the entire game. At least Narset is only running one creature and needs 6 mana to even see play. Considering both creatures have the same amount of access to ramp through rituals and rocks, Sen Triplets will almost always see the board first.

The only problem I have with the arguments presented by each side is that they act as though there is only one way to play each deck. Narset doesn't have to be only extra turns and combat, and Sen Triplets doesn't have to only play another person's deck. I've seen and played against lists where Triplets focused on combo and value disruption and lists where Narset fires off stupidly over-costed enchantments and Insurrection effects. I think it's more about the deck builder's interests rather than the obvious ways to play which make a specific card or deck list annoying.

One thing that wasn't mentioned in the video (probably since it's from the perspective of the person playing them) is that Sen Triplets aren't powerfull enough to justify their use since they generate so much salt from other players. This annoyed me massively when I built my Triplets deck, as they would rarely resolve/stay on the board and when they did, I might have gotten like three spell and a land, but then have my 5 mana commander removed and appear to be the arch enemy without actually having advanced my gameplan enough to be a serious threat. I love these topics and discussions. How about what Commander has the most fun or best ETB ability. Roon or Yurok? Orr... Best Zombie tribal commander? Top 5??

I beat the tar out of a Sen Triplets deck at GenCon...one of my favorite games ever. I was using obscure cards, so they were mostly leaving me alone. I had out Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, then threw out a Kormus Bell and enchanted the Sen Triplets player with Curse of Death's Hold....can't use my cards if you don't have any mana.

People complain about my Triplets until Memnarch and the infinite mana hits. Suddenly the Triplets arent that big of a deal.

So far I have only played against Narset decks and mostly it seems to be an all or nothing deal. Either she attacks and wins. Or she gets countered or hit with removal (or everyone has a good blocker and the marset deck hasn't drawn its evasion stuff) and flounders around for the rest of the game

Narset is in my Kykar deck, not the main purpose but helps with casting a lot of spells to make lots of token friends.

The first commander deck i made was Sen Triplets. I remember looking through my cards to find a legendary creature after i learned about Commander. I only found a couple, one of which was Sen Triplets which i remember being one of the first mythics i pulled from my first set. I was like, damn this card is cool and i never actually played with it. So i made myself probably the worlds worst Sen triplets deck and never won a game with it. Coolest feeling ever when i managed to cast someone else's cyclonic rift tho

I've never played against either of these decks because people are too scared they'll lose all their friends or whatever when asked about them. I don't know what that says about the community or the commanders but thought it was interesting

I certainly was not expecting Sen Triplets to win the poll

Urza is limited because he's monocolored, but the fact that you can have easily 20 mana generators per turn during the end of mid game/beginning of late game and that blue is (with black) the best color for monocolored decks, (especially if you play a lot of artifacts), I think urza is weaker than korvold (because it has 3 colors and sacrificing creatures to gain advantage is OP) but it can become pretty overwhelming very quickly

Would enjoy hearing your opinions on the next "Head to head" maybe just before seeing the results.

How often are you gonna do close quarters?

How about what's a more hated archetype to play against, Mill or Discard?

At least with Narset the deckbuilder has the option to not build the most efficient extra turns-style cheese that makes her hated. With Sen Triplets, the actual text itself forces the the strategy that is frustrating to play against.
