I honestly kinda hate how ONLY the Zenin Family are fully fleshed out. The Gojo Family are unknown, and the Kamo Family are being Carried by a Dude who's not even Human. I think that if Gege was going to do this treatment, there's no reason to even mentioned the other families as Important.

The thing about the power scaling is that Gege just wanted to do something cool for Maki at the beginning and that he regrets that scene or just changing it a little. Similar to how he regretted not exercising Hanami in the Exchage Event

It’s better to just ignore any numbers that Gege gives because his ass does not know math, in theory black flash is regular punch to the power of 2,5 which doesn’t make sense by what we were shown in the manga, they’ve had a whole ass comic of Gege asking for help with gojos limitless to make it make sense

They were never intended to interact, megumi is not a the type to even care about clan leadership it was just put on him. It's also not an integral part in megumis arc, his fate was intertwined with sukuna. And as you can see there was no possible point where they would be able to meet. Jjk is not naruto we aren't going to see each and every character interaction there is no filler and the it's supposed to be a short yet complex story, your thinking about it too serialized.

funny thing is naoya is actually pretty innocent when you compare him to villains people actually like in the series, sukuna, kenjaku, geto, toji, even maki actually has worse crimes etc. all did worse things and people dunk on naoya harder than every single one of them. heck, even with the implication from the maki conversation could be chalked up to him just talking about how since mai is dead, she could never tell maki how it feels like to be an adult since she'll never get the chance herself. everyone somehow jumps to the worst possible conclusion for the character and wonder why people could like him while completely ignoring just well written he is and the narrative behind him. naoya is a victim but on a different end of the spectrum who lives by the zenin clan's ideals whilst at the same time rejecting them for being old fashioned, he looks up to toji unlike the rest of the zenin clan, bar for maybe ranta, and chastises them for looking down on toji for using weapons even though they wield them so openly. he begrudgingly respects gojo and seems to want to stand on the same podium as him and toji despite having disdain for the former. even the stuff about maki and mai is more so referring to clan politics like them being married off showing that at the end of the day he's operating within that system and not necessarily his own ideas, heck even the ideas that make naoya "naoya" are all ideas projected onto him by others around him. the idea he's better than his brothers and clan members? those around him. the only real thing that comes from naoya himself is his admiration for toji and gojo to some degree. his main driving factor is only proving to himself that maki can't stand alongside toji because of the notions his clan forced upon him about women and non sorcerers. then there's the female allusion with naoya's DE and his cursed spirit form showing some sort of internal lack on his part since innate domains are shaped by one's soul and i'd assume the same would be true for your cursed spirit form. naoya is just such a wasted character in some regards, with bits of his character never quite being resolved nor do they go anywhere and its all left to speculation. its weirder when you realise that the first intro of maki's mom was through her walking with naoya of all people, why out of all people was it her giving the news? why not someone else? why was it her at the end of the who stabbed naoya in the back? heck where was naoya's own mom when naobito died? was maki's mom some kind of filler on some level for that hole? maybe I'm reaching, maybe I'm not but all these things made naoya likeable as a character imo, i have far more empathy for him than i do any other antagonist in jjk just because no matter what you say him killing yuji, megumi and choso would have prevented the current events in the manga. yuta still would've done what he needed to do without much changing, and him killing maki would've been justified under jujutsu society. its just a hindsight thing excellent video by the way! its rare to find a vid that goes deeper into naoya's character beyond the surface level stuff

I dislike Naoya and her personality (but I like her appearance and I find her attractive to the point of being in my opinion the top 3 most attractive male JJK characters) The problem I always see is that when I say that people call me sick when the majority are sukuna and kenjaku simps personal opinion I feel that Naoya could have been better used and had a better rivalry with Maki (a Zuko vs Azula) I feel that in the end Gege demonized him a lot when there are unknown things about this (the Japanese fandom before Naoya came out as a spirit damn, they said that Naoya spoke about Mai and Maki like a conservative grandmother, those who say that your breasts have grown or that you are already a decent little woman, only that being a man and young he seems more like a predator) For me sukuna and kenjaku is worse than naoya The guy was good for a story of generational trauma and making him a tragic villain (before you say not all villains should have sad stories, I agree but that's why we have sukuna, kenjaku and mahito) Naoya could have been a better tragic villain than Geto since Naoya would bring more depth to the main problem that the work is trying to teach us, which has its roots in the world of sorcerers, sorcerers are like that because they are educated to think that way, Naoya was not born evil, but his family and traditions made him that way, seeing how a student of Satoru (someone who wanted to end that policy) breaks the generational chain would have given greater impact not only to Maki but also to Satoru's purpose. Conclusion they developed Maki excellently but left the Zenin clan being a waste, Naoya had good potential as a tragic villain from the concept (even surpassing Geto)

@@alicass9195 oh no, i actually agree a lot with you on all these points. the strange thing for me is, i wouldn't mind if people didn't like naoya but they got out of their way to demonise anyone who does and that's my real problem with them. like kenjaku and sukuna did worse things and yet they stan them like there's no tomorrow. as if kenjaku didn't put a woman through nine pregnancies and nine abortions for his own curiosity? and that's not worse? the thing about naoya being used as an example of generational trauma is something i really did see his character having the potential to represent. i think with a manga like jjk that has a lack of sad backstories it would've worked out better than most would like to admit. one thing i really liked about him was his dynamic with maki, I'm not sure if its just me but the two characters really hit their peaks when interacting with one another and its something i would've liked to see for a bit longer. so i can defs see where you're coming from with wanting that Zuko and Azula dynamic.

@@lemon_boi305 the plot following the shibuya arc in general seems a bit rushed in my opinion. Gege could have done a lot more to flesh the world out and do some character development. Personally, I would have loved to see Nayoa change his ways after being beaten by Maki. Either by him sacrificing himself for a woman or by Maki saving him. Either way, I would have loved to see him acknowledging Maki as being on Toji level and maybe even beyond that.

The projection sorcery getting projected on 😂😂 Naoya dying like he did and his whole character was wasted. His domain really was confusing( why it was a uterus). I wonder what it meant. Naoya wanting to kill megumi and yuji was right cause look what happened. He actually could've killed Yuji quite easily with a katana and projection sorcery. Had he sneak attacked him. There's a lot of missed opportunities In jjk. Hell sukuna was completely useless for a majority of the story.

Realistically, curse naoya with his domain expansion even to the end of jjk is still top 10, it was just that he faced maki of all people, otherwise he probably is even above hakaris and uraumes level, as he only loses to people like maki or others with more refined domain expansions/techniques

Gege really blew it with Naoya. He's got an amazing charcter design and his flaws of boundless misogyny should have been used to show some character growth by making him sacrifice himself for a woman sometime after being beaten by Maki or him being saved by Maki and him admiting that Maki is worthy of being the new Toji. But no, he got stabbed in the back, achieving absolutely fck all. What a waste.

There are lots of wasted characters and Naoya might be one but I don't think he is in the regard you're talking about. This is Gege's writing, not Kishimoto's. JJK is much more like seinen then a shonen in that regard. In the meta narrative of JJK, characters who adhere to those traditionalist rules are punished, like Naoya, and characters who break free, end up winning. It would've been cool to see him be used for more or atleast see his technique a bit more, but he didn't necessarily have to be redeemed. Especially since we already get multiple characters, like Maki, who represent breaking the shackles of tradition and freeing yourself from that mindset. Also I think Gojo kind of already represents a person who is favored and pampered by said system and then breaking out of it instead of having to be mistreated by it first.

Power Scaling is stupid. Authors just write cool shit, they don’t spend time sweating about whether it can be calculated accurately. And they’re certainly not keeping track of every feat and comparing them to other character’s feats to make sure that characters power levels are consistent across the board.

Can we all agree that two random characters coming to help maki kill naoya was just shit writing. One had a hyperbolic time chamber to maker her enlightened and she became Toji in a minute while the other just happened to be an enlightened swordman to show maki what she lacked. Worst writing in anime history. Mega plot armor 🤦‍♂️. Also Kama would have died against human naoya so why was he still alive

I don’t actually think The whole Mach 3 thing is that much of an issue When Maki takes his attack she was mentally nerfed which we know messes with her heavenly restriction and causes her stats to be out of whack So I’m just going to go out on a limb and say she was weakened when Naoya landed the attack so this doesn’t mess with future higher end scaling Since there’s tons of people above her at this point This doesn’t solve all the problems with the scaling but it’s a decent enough explanation

It is because u can't follow the 24 fps and react to a mach 3 speed yet alone mach 1. People argue about reaction but don't understand how speed works. If u hear a jet flying these burst are very loud and hard to pinpoint. Even with the hr, you cannot figure out nor react to speed of sound that's not even accounting for the surrounding around there her body wouldve been thrown back just from the blast not even his fist. Assuming u can figure out to then follow the fps rule not accounting for surrounding wind is impossible. I do agree it's not a powerscaling rule, it's a flaw in writing. Gege is very bad at writing and understanding physics.

Honestly, Mai and Naoya's theory for me can be explained in two ways (that he did it or that he really is just an idiot) although I have the feeling that in the anime they can clarify this doubt (they won't say it directly) but they could use phrases like -Why don't you ask your sister... the truth is, she is -Why don't you ask Mai how much of a man I am?

He is not even the most evil character but I hate him more then anyone in this anime. Even Sukuna seems more likeable then this guy. And then I see that as a child he was the only only open to Toji. What the heck was that clan. Why did we need to talk so much about this clan full of jerks instead of learning about the gojos or the Kamos? From one we only really know one member and the other is a brain that used to get backshots from Yujis dad and worse Choso. What the heck is this ?
