I could see "Nazo" being a redesigned Hyper Sonic for Modern Sonic. If they bring "Nazo" back officially, they can re-purpose it to be Modern Hyper Sonic. That would be so cool to see. I'm aware that Iikuza said the Super Emeralds are non-canon . . .but that was before Mania, where the Super Emeralds make a brief cameo as statues ( and Whitehead actually giving a official explanation on twitter about those statues). So . . .maybe? . . . please? . . .Iizuka?

Nazo should have be cannon and be future in Sonic X. I honesty never knew he was meant to be in Sonic X but now I think he should had been in the anime. I already seen the fanmade movie of Nazo (really good btw) and now I want him to either in the video games, new anime sonic's show, or in Archie comics.

Theory: Maybe Nazo was originally meant to be this series stand in for metal sonic. Sonic X had all the characters from SA1 to SH, even including a Emeral from Advanced, but they left out Metal Sonic. It's not that Metal Sonic was some obscure character by the time Sonic X came out (Sonic Heroes remember?) You included most of the Chaotix crew but not the big badie of Sonic Heroes Metal Sonic? So what if this was Sonic Xs version of Metal Sonic? He looks similar to Sonic, one of the only other images was him chained up in Eggmans lab (pretty strange for a version of Super Sonic to be chained up in egg mans lair of all places). Maybe he was scrapped in the end because of Sonic Xs storyline. Instead of sonic Xs 3rd story arc following Heroes ( the perfect time to introduce Metal sonic) we got the Meterax arc. Great in all yes but there really wasn't much room for this new metal sonic to come into play. I mean it was pretty obvious this guy would contribute a good deal of story to Sonic Xs story but there wasn't a whole lot of room for that. We had a chaotic water monster to deal with in the first story arc, a genocidal hedgehog in the next, and planet destroying aliens in the next one. where the heck do you have time to fit a story around a metalic double ganger of the blue blure? Answer: no time at all.
