Honestly, I think it'd be really cool if the in-game universe reason Sonic is so fast is simply because he trained hard enough to the point where he can do it effortlessly. It'd go really well with the "practice makes perfect" design philosophy of the Sonic games imo

I don't think shadow is silver's father. Sure the connection to dragon ball z as well as black knight is interesting but those are either different universes or separate continuities entirely. Plus, we know that Iblis had to have been released in the 200 years prior to Silver being around. And according to Mephiles in Shadow's story, after Iblis was released, shadow was imprisoned and locked away giving him no time to conceive silver so he can't be the father. We also don't know if it is even possible for shadow to reproduce as he was made to be a weapon and the protector of the world and I doubt they took reproduction into consideration when he was being made. I choose to believe that silver's ancestors have yet to even appear in the sonic world especially since 200 years is a very long time.
