I thought I knew about all the greatest storytellers of history, but then I read the Gospel According to John. His entire life built up to the writing of his gospel and it shows on the page. It's the greatest story ever told, told in the greatest way. I also trust him over all other accounts for his closeness to Christ. We grow close to people that we understand and that understand us. If John understood Christ more than others, then I trust him to tell me about Christ more than the others.
