I just wanted to say that although it may seem that way Jonghyun did not hide his emotions, there really is no need to search for it in his lyrics since he was very open about mental health in general. He didn`t sugar coat things and he is very expressive in his work and also his radio show etc. whilst it is sad that he isn`t physically with us anymore he still is and always will be a member of SHINee. The happy memories we see are honest moments between all of them and honestly don't need to be analysed (this isn't referring to you but more so to some other reactors I've seen). Thank you for taking your time in getting to know all of the members^^

Based on what I've seen and read he never seemed like someone that would hide his emotions or hold back what he thought. Mental health is still a big problem in Korea, since they still don't open up about it. There are more celebrities that talk about it but hope it gets better. Mmm...I try to not mention it too much because we all know what happened, so the focus should be on their musical legacy and who they are as people :)

@@Soshiworld0805 yeah definitely which is why I'm still very happy that he opened so many doors for those conversations to be held^^ and I hope you didn't take my comment as an attack I didn't mean it that way I just see a lot of people trying to find sadness in moments that weren't so I just wanted to mention it since I'm not sure exactly how familiar you are with the members^^ keep up the good content and have a nice day :)

@@jayjibrown That's what I want my channel to be, a place where we can discuss stuff :) Yeah, he opened a few doors :) Sulli were also very open about her thoughts as well...and even got them to add rules to hopefully help others :) So, yeah, I'd say these days it's better than it was in Second Generation, and even better than in first generation of Kpop. I'll admit that I don't know them as well as actual fans, but most likely better than a lot of reactors :)

@@jayjibrown Yep, same here :) I actually think it will. One law actually allows the labels to sue sasaengs which they were never able to before. So, I think if every label together started suing sasaengs and show that they've had enough, it might also get other annoying fans to back off.

Just to clarify, there is one thing this guide gets wrong -- or doesn't do a good job explaining -- which I feel is important for people to know. SHINee never took time off. (They weren't inactive for a year after Jonghyun's death.) They only took a couple months off to grieve and to regroup. Jonghyun died Dec.18, 2017 and in February 2018 -- two months after Jonghyun died -- SHINee held their SHINee World Concert 2018 -- The Best From Now On concert in Japan, and only 5 months after his death they had their official comeback with their album The Story of Light which celebrated their 10th anniversary. And they had a full sleight of activities and promoted like normal. Even through their grief they never skipped a beat. It was important to them to be there for Shawols and to show us that they wouldn't give up or stop being SHINee as a tribute to Jonghyun and to honor him, so they purposefully made an effort to keep moving forward and not stop their activities for too long. You will soon discover that Shawols never talk about Jonghyun as if he is gone. We very rarely use past tense words to describe him. We always talk about SHINee like nothing has changed. Even when SHINee does interviews or people in the industry talk about the group they still say "The five of you," etc. Jonghyun is very much a part of everything SHINee does. So just appreciate the fact that we have hundreds of clips of him to enjoy. Because he is still here. You can see and feel him in everything that makes SHINee who they are and you can feel his presence in everything SHINee does. The way to honor Jonghyun's memory is to watch him in everything he did throughout his career and to react to his music and listen to his songs. So, go ahead and react to as much SHINee content, and even Jonghyun's solo work, as you can. It's OK if it makes us a little emotional sometimes, but the way to get to know him and SHINee better is to really spend some time getting to know them as the amazing performers that they are. All Jonghyun ever wanted was to make people happy through his work and to influence the world with his songs and lyrics. So, honor him by discovering what an amazing person he was and seeing exactly what he wanted people to remember him for. Yes, it can be sad, but you don't necessarily have to make it that way if you just appreciate his work for what it is and live in the moment. His final words to the world were "Tell me I did Well." And that is what we fans try to do. By continuing to watch and listen to his and SHINee's music and appreciating the hundreds of clips of him we are lucky enough to have with SHINee as a group of 5, we are showing Jonghyun that, yes indeed, you did well and your life will forever be meaningful to thousands of people. You will never be forgotten Jonghyun, you did well.

As this guide points out, people even used to make fun of Taemin's singing and they would say that he was tone deaf and couldn't sing. However, it's sort of a misconception that Taemin "couldn't sing." it wasn't that he couldn't sing, it was just that he debuted when he was so young -- he was only 14 years old -- that his voice hadn't really developed yet and he didn't really have a good grasp of how to use his voice and produce the sounds he wanted with it. So, in the beginning, when he sang he was often flat or his voice cracked or he was off key or out of tune, etc. And because he was being compared to the other members of SHINee who are all 2 to 4 years older than him, and the other members had such phenomenal voices to start out with, it really made Taemin sound like he was lacking. That's why in these first few songs you will see that he only has a few lines, and most of the time he was just given big solo dance breaks to fill the stage at his parts in the song. However, if he was really tone deaf he never would have become an SM Idol trainee -- SM would have put him on the dance track and probably steered him toward becoming a backup dancer -- and he definitely would have never become the amazing singer that he is today. Someone who is truly tone deaf is physically unable to hear the difference in the notes and is unable to carry a tune. But Taemin really wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't just a dancer, so he spent a lot of extra time concentrating on vocal lessons and the other SHINee members -- especially Onew and Jonghyun -- spent some serious time coaching and mentoring him until he learned what it took to match their vocal range and to use his voice. If you notice, Taemin's style of singing, especially in SHINee songs, is a lot like Jonghyun -- SHINee's main vocalist, and one of the best vocalists in the industry. And once you watch more of SHINee, you will see that Taemin fills in for Jonghyun whenever Jonghyun was unable to participate in a performance. And even today, Taemin often takes over the high notes and the parts that I think would probably have been Jonghyun's parts in their new songs -- he has now become one of SHINee's main vocalists. Jonghyun was the one that really took Taemin under his wing and helped him to become the singer that he is today. So, many think that Taemin's voice emulates Jonghyun because he is the one that taught Taemin to sing. Jonghyun has always been Taemin's biggest supporter and the one that rooted for him the hardest and loudest out of anyone.

Thanks for reacting to this newer guide! I’m glad you took the time to get to know them and I appreciate the way you handled the news about Jonghyun. I understand that it’s a heavy subject for everyone and depression is real but I think it’s also very important to celebrate him and his work and almost treat him as if he’s just away on a long vacation sometimes because neither Shinee or shawols want to have that be the defining point of their group. Onto more happier things! I wonder whose style do you resonate most with? All members have solo work and itd be interesting to see your take on them - especially Key and Taemin since they released more albums recently.

Hello I don't comment much but I have something quite dear to my heart that I would like to let you know: You mentioned reacting to one of this albums (i think you meant poet|artist) in December. To be honest, I think it would be better to have you react to it without it having to be tied to dec.18th. He (and SHINee too) are often reduced to what happened and that really makes me quite sad. i feel more comfortable when reactors celebrate his life rather than look back on his passing. So please do consider reacting to his work not because he has gone from us, but because he was, and still is, with us and treat it as such. He's so much more than many people know and talk about. If you disagree you are free to delete this comment. I just couldn't not tell you. Sorry if I offended you, it was not what I wanted to do. Please do take care♡ and keep loving them as you do now♡

First of all no need to delete any comment unless it's a hate comment :) Second the reason why I want to react to that album is because the title sounds so interesting :) Also reacting to it in December would give me some more time to learn more about them musically, and hopefully understand them better :) I'd like to apologize because my wording of it could've been much better :( I meant it in a celebratory way and nothing else :) Hopefully this will clarify some things. If you want to react to Jonghyun's Poet Artist album and you need more time to get to know them, then please consider doing it in January or any other month besides December. Even though you may not intend it to be, it can be interpreted by many as a ploy to feed off of the hype that surrounds Dec. 18 and what that day means to Jonghyun and SHINee fans. Especially because you are just getting to know the group and you don't really know them very well. You need to understand how important it is to Shawols that Jonghyun is given the utmost respect and that his life is much more than just one month or a specific day. Dec. 18 should never be a date that defines Jonghyun. Please consider paying your respects to Jonghyun in a different way in December. Instead, maybe consider doing some holiday song reactions and reacting to SHINee's Christmas and holiday songs instead.

And be as open as possible :) First I'd like to welcome you to my channel, and second my attention has always been to react to all their solo stuff to show respect to all of them :) So, yeah I'll hold off with his solo stuff until early next year :) It's like Key said that we shouldn't avoid talking or listening to Jonghyun's music and so on because his legacy still exist, not just with shinee but his albums and mv's are still here :) Again thank you for commenting on the video :)

It's a well known fact that when Key and Minho were trainees they didn't get alone because their personalities are the complete opposite. Even though Minho and Key are now very close and they have learned to understand and accept and respect their differences, it's still a running joke that they know how to push each other's buttons and they don't want to spend too much time together. Their hatred for each other is no longer real, but they play up their dislike as a joke. So any time Key or Minho is asked about spending time alone with each other or giving each other extra respect, etc. it's a given that they will both say no. They have a complicated relationship, because even though they were both born in 1991, which makes them the same age, Minho became an SM trainee first so he is considered a senior to Key, but Key is actually about 3 months older than Minho, so it has become a point of contention -- who deserves more respect? The older one or the one with more time in the industry? It all has to do with the Korean honorific system and how you are supposed to show respect for those who came before you and/or those who are older than you, etc. But neither one wants to concede to the other. So over the years it has turned into a funny power struggle between the two of them. However, these days Minho and Key are super close and you always see them together, especially after being apart for almost 2 years while they served in the military. Minho really missed his members, and it seems Key in particular, because you see them together all the time, even just hanging out. As Minho said, they are more like an old married couple now that just gets each other and knows what each other wants without even having to say anything. If you really want to see how good of an athlete Minho is, check out a compilation video called "Minho winning at Sports and Games" kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3_FqWWjbZZ6h6c He is literally the best Idol athlete there is and he wins at everything he does. And every year the entertainment industry holds what is called Idol Olympics where Idols from all different Kpop companies and groups compete in athletic events -- from swimming, to diving, to track and field, to team sports like basketball and soccer, etc. (Multiple events just like the real olympics.) And Minho is known for always participating, and not only in one event, but every event in the whole competition and he wins almost everything he competes in. You will see what I mean when you watch the video I suggested.

Yeah, they're either like a married couple of Tom & Jerry...so it's always fun to see them bicker in shows :D I've seen clips or even episodes of Let's Go Dream Team 2 :) I wish they brought that show back, it was fun to watch. 'cause I think what they have now is a bit different.
