This is by far the best podcast with a politician. At least he spoke somewhat truth and accepted the mistakes made by his party instead of blaming others and playing God. It is true muhajir feel a scenes of insecurity in Pakistan because because we are a minority limited to a single major city in Pakistan surrounded by people who say we are not sons of the soil this is one of the reason my entire family lives abroad because there is no future for muhajirs in Pakistan and I see many muhajir families settling abroad because don't see any future for themselves and their love one's following post Musharraf and the rise of PPP even in Karachi muhajir's are are not the majority anymore muhajir's are being treated like third rate citizens in Pakistan even though they created Pakistan

Great podcast. Cannot defend parts of MQMs past. However as someone who grew up in 90s karachi, at some points Mohajirs were afraid (like Balochis and Pashtuns today) that we will be wiped out if we did not fight back against the state. Does not justify violence, however things are more complex than they seem

The best podcasts i think every one hates mqm in karachi as u can in general and local body elections. They are just crying from 20 year and practically doing nothing for development of city and people of karachi needs to stand up for their rigths against the biggest dictatorship of ppp/establishment. This cruelty needs to be stopped. Only 8% development of sindh is given to karachi and 6% in their pockets and 60% schools are empty or damaged, 75% parks are encroaced or given to lamd mafia, tanker mafia is making trillions. 😢

It was very uncomfortable to see the comparison of Altaf Hussain with the Aga Khan, the religious and spiritual head (Imam) of Shia Ismaili Muslims. I fail to understand Farooq's thesis that how Ismaili community is insecure therefore they rally behind Aga Khan. I guess he does not know that Imamat is one of the primary religious tenets of Shia Muslims and it being compared with any political leader, the very least being Altaf Hussain who has a following on ethnic lines confirms many misperceptions held by fellow Muslims. Not saying that Shehzad bhai should know everything about all the religious groups but his silence and his lack of action in asking Farooq Sattar to clarify his statement is dangerous because these podcasts are viewed by thousands and such discussions tend to confirm those misperceptions and misconceptions held by masses and that too when it is propagated by those who are said to be 'informed about history'. I saw a similar lack of action during NFP's podcast where he did not ask the host to clarify his statements on the Ahmedi Muslim community and their ex-communication from Islam . Guess this is where privilege kicks in cause they do not realize the repercussions of their statements about the marginalized communities in Pakistan.

As a Karachiite who had the misfortune of living in Karachi during the years of MQM and Altaf Hussein's rule Farooq Sattar is a master liar. He is very conveniently rewriting history because he does not have the nerve to admit that he was a part of a fascist organization that almost destroyed Karachi. To say " it was not part of party policy to have people murdered, blackmailed or tortured " is insulting those of us who lived through the nightmare that was the MQM. The man has more lives than a cat since so many of his contemporaries who were murdered on the orders of Altaf Hussein since they were deemed to a threat to the ego of a madman.

I do not care what Punjab government does, but federal government or federal organizations should not discriminate against other provinces, which they do. The example I gave you is not something small. When East Pakistan was part of Pakistan same bureaucracy, in fact include whole West Pakistan's did not give right to east pakistan and even took the resources on the basis of population, but as soon as they separated, punjab politicians and bureaucracy used population as the criteria to take away all the resources until the curreeny NFC awar. Punjab is not Pakistan...Punjab is part of Pakistan.

I didn't know that people like u who are open to discussion of both sides without much prejudice were there in pakistan (obv people like u exist but nvr encountered once) .
