My favorite contemporary dance is Noah . He really puts emotion in his dances. His dances are also really powerfull and his movements through a dance are great. My top 3 would be : third would be Michelle , second would Eldon and first would be Noah❤.

Daniel is the most underrated male dancer, in my opinion, and he's my favorite tns dancer. Sure, he can be a brat but his dancing is so beautiful. There is no time, Daniel doesn't look gorgeous in his dances and even in the off season of season 4 to 5, his duet with West is amazing and he revived himself yet still continued to work on his dance. He's just the best and should get more credit

Hey Alisha I know you’ll probably never see this but I just wanted to say I love your channel! I thought I’d tell you ( I know you were rating the character not the person) that Alexandra Beaton isn’t a dancer however she got her role on The Next Step because for how incredible of an actor she was so they tried to trick the audience into thinking she was better than she actually was like when Chloe said “ her flexibility is insane!” When she was just doing the splits so she could take the Emily role she was so perfect for!

This was such a great video, you explained everything so well! I'd love more in this series/style. At least one of the seasons have given a dancer more than one style, sometimes to the extent that some of the mentioned dancers in s1 cast on: contemporary dancers didn't make the list on contemporary dancers (Chloe, Stephanie) with that in mind (not disagreeing with you, wondering about the Wikia)... my list, imo would include Max, around 1 or 2, because although he didn't dance much contemporary in the later seasons, his Nationals solo to me was a defining contemporary moment on the show... wow that was long XD Thanks again for posting!

I don’t get in the show how they had to have the story of Daniel not having emotion so he didn’t get the solo. If anything Eldon doesn’t emote like Daniel if I’m judging off my opinion because he is very serious but I’m the s3 international audition to replace Chloe Daniel was very emotive

If I'm being honest, Noah is a better dancer than Daniel. He emotes and has the passion when he dances, and it's been said many times that Daniel has the technique but not the emotion. Noah can do lots of different lifts, and we've barely seen Daniel do any. Noah can do incredibly high leaps and flips, and the highest we've seen Daniel flip is when he does his aerials. Noah is also a very versatile dancer: in Season 1 when Daniel was rehearsing in Studio A with West, it took a while for Daniel to get the hang of hip-hop, however in Season 4 Noah did a hip-hop small group ("Famous") without any issues and then in Season 6 he did a small group called "Now You Got the Best" for Regionals effortlessly. Adding on to the topic of versatility, Noah also did a ballet pas de deux, a style we rarely see anyone do. Another thing, and my last topic: Noah was a featured dancer ever since Internationals, and the only reason he wasn't featured them was that he'd just moved up from J-Troupe and hadn't properly proven himself. In Season 4 he was in the qualifier trio, the "Famous" small group, the "Bicicletta" they and " Ain't No Number Two", which was impressive because he'd just got off an injury! The "Can't Stop the Fire" routine had him doing all sorts of solo tricks, and when he was on TNS East, he would've had a duet with Richelle. Then in Season 6 he was in the contemporary "Alive" small group, the hip-hop "Now You Got the Best" small group, the ballet pas de deux "Hood Rose" and both of the finals routines ("Hold On to Me" and "Even When We're Gone") - every single dance! I know that Daniel had Eldon, a strong competitor, on his team at the time, and Noah didn't, and maybe it was just Kate making her usual bad decisions by not including Daniel in any dances. But still, the way Noah flows through his moves and can also do hard-hitting hip-hop if needed, is amazing. And, yes, Daniel can be emotive at times, but only when he needed to - at the Internationals troupe auditions. All in all, Noah is definitely superior to Daniel.

I would switch Noah with Eldon but yeah, top three are the boys... they're just soo good. Daniel is phenomenal when he dances. I honestly thought that he would get National male soloist because his performance was great, I enjoyed it more than Eldon's, although the latter's was also good. I don't think he gets enough respect with his abilities, his prowess gets overshadowed by his unlikable personality.

I just realised that all noahs solos look the same It's start with a trick, some walking, another trick, some choreography, another trick and then some turns so I do get where Alishea is coming from I feel like the comments are very bias but If we actually analyse the dancing it would be quite obvious that Eldon and Daniel would have a tie. (The reason why Eldon isn't first is because he uses a lot of tricks and turns and sometimes he looks cringy doing the choreography but he is above Noah because he has better technique) (Daniel isn't first because he doesn't show emotion but he did in his season 3 audition solo against Stephanie)

I think it's fair and it makes sense that Emily is ranked in last because her actress is really just and actress and not a dancer. I actually believe (I'm not sure if this is true) but I believe that Alexandra Beaton was the only regular cast member of the next step who isn't a dancer. I have to say that I do think she's one of the better actors in the series. Also, I mostly agree with your ranking (even though you would know better because I don't dance at all).
