It's honestly kind of amazing to think that one of the DCAU's most important heroes wouldn't have existed if Andrea's life hadn't been ruined and she hadn't been forced to abandon Bruce. I almost wish they could've explored some alternate timeline where Bruce and Andrea end up together, and see how they, and all the other DCAU heroes live their lives without Batman or the Justice League.

My vote is Green Arrow. The normal human who has always been the voice of reason in a sea of madness. He speaks what he believes, consequences be damned. He is the voice that the justice league listen to when the cards are down. He is simply a good person trying to do good, never losing his hope in people.

I vote Question for much the same reason. Green Arrow was the one whose voice got through to the others, but Question had the guts to call out Superman about how close they were getting to Justice Lords territory, and that tried to sacrifice his own hero career by axing Luthor so Superman wouldn't get the chance. Question and Arrow were two sides of the same coin, normal men speaking truth to power from very different perspectives. Perhaps a tie?

I think the Greatest Heroes of the DCAU are Green Arrow ( for keeping the Justice League honest & reminding them how their actions effected the regular people caught in the middle of their battles with villains like in the Cadmus Arc ) Supergirl I feel had a greater impact on the DCAU before running off into the Far Future with the legion of Superheroes where I think she did a lot of good . The Question & Huntress being quirky Street level heroes going places that most Justice Leaguers don't always go solving mysteries . I feel like Vixen has a bigger impact fighting threats that are a little too weird for the founding members, same with Etrigan the Demon , Lobo & the New Gods Orion, Big Barda & Scott Free . In my mind I feel like everyone who isn't Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman do a lot to save the world 🌎 Even Booster Gold got to shine in the middle of a weird magical crisis in one episode.

Superman. He's not just a hero that has saved a countless amounts of people, nearly any one on the justice league is capable of the same feats. But he is arguably one of the most powerful beings in the universe without falling into the traps of power, instead he chooses to selflessly help and inspire an adopted world to be better. Plethora of heroes in the DCAU and its future take inspiration from Superman, directly and indirectly, and brings out the best in others as well. Someone who plays a role in someone else's back story doesnt compare, might as well call Thomas and Martha wayne the greatest heroes for dying if we're going to play that game. Every hero in the Justice League gets a chance to prove themselves at least once; Sir Justin and Vigilante winning a moral victory against the Red Hulk knockoff when clearly outmuscled, Booster Gold saving Metropolis from an equally destructive force while the main members were fighting an overpowered wizard, but to me, Batman edges out the others with how many contingencies, sheer willpower even greater than a Green Lantern, and willingness to sacrifice himself to get the job done. The only one able to keep focused when regressed to an 8-year old with the other founding members, to team up with his future self to stop Chronos in Neo Gotham, to just giving a sad girl a friend to confide in when she was on the precipice of a nuclear meltdown that would have destroyed Gotham. The only Justice League member to successfully dodge Darkseid's Omega beams repeatedly, when a single shot can and has destroyed stronger beings instantaneously. Able to fight certain death if he fell asleep by simply humming "Frera Jacques" and help the other unconscious Justice League members fight through their own personalized nightmares, and when captured by Lex Luthor and his hired villains managed to escape via seducing Cheetah and tricking Grundy into giving him a glass of water. The only member paranoid and prepared enough to have a contingency plan to stop any/all members of the Justice League if they are ever compromised in their mission of being heroes. A primary benefactor/main contributor to the resources and money needed to staff, update, and protect the orbital Hall of Justice.

of course, and I don't mean to suggest that Andrea is the reason why he continued to be Batman - as you alluded to, he feels compelled to fight crime - but she is the reason why he specifically became Batman. What, no "if it weren't for Batsy, then no one could have crashed the first Watchtower into the Thanagarian superweapon"? Look, I know this is just a fun little video, but measuring heroism based on "lives saved as result of actions, intentional or otherwise" isn't a great measure of heroism. As BTAS's Trial episode demonstrated, you aren't morally or legally villainous just because your actions curcumstantially or unpredictably affected the lives of other supervillains. Likewise, Andrea isn't a "hero" just because her breakup with Bruce had the completely unpredictable domino outcome of preventing the end of the universe. (I'd say Batman btw. Dude has a different league of dedication and determination, and it lets him be one of the most competent and dangerous people alive despite having no powers and not being a perfect person. He gave up everything to pursue his cause and risks the most in combat, but never stopped until his failing health threatened to compromise his fundamental principles. Heroism is not just a measure of lives saved, but also of personal sacrifice. Few sacrificed more than Batman.)

In my opinion, the greastest DCAU hero is the Flash. Besides he saving Earth from Eclipso and Lexiac (Lex Luthor and Brainiac), another moment is him trying to buy a toy for some orphans during the christimas special "Comfort and Joy". This may seen insignificant but it actually shows alot of Wally's character and his heroism: The fact he works on energy bar commercials can cause some people to misjudge him as just immature clown, looking for fame like Booster Gold, but in reality he use this status to bring smiles for people, specially kids who had a difficult lifes. Also, as showed in the episode "A Better World", Wally acts as JL conscience. Whenever the heroes are in trouble, he step up and tries to help with his bravery and optimism. One the best exemple of this is in the episode Hereafter, when people belived that Toyman had kill Superman and WW was enrage, almost killing the villain until Wally stopped her. He didn't try to flirt with her or tell jokes. He simply hold her arm and straight up remind her that they don't kill their enemies, that's what Superman would say.

6:21 Well, it would be odd if your conclusions DIDN'T make sense to you... While typing this, I realized that "Jack Napier's" hit on Carl Beaumont for the Valestra mob created the Phantasm... which created Batman... who inadvertently created the Joker during the Ace Chemicals robbery... Just like in the Tim Burton film, Batman and the Joker created one another. Huh. 🤔

If we follow the train of logic from Andrea Beaumont to its natural conclusion... The hand that created the universe saved the most lives, because they created the universe that Bruce, Andrea, and everyone else was born in, allowing them to save all those lives in the first place.

Nah. It was Batman’s utility belt what caused the problem in the first place. He risked the whole thing by your own causality logic, and without Green Lantern he wouldn’t have been able to undo that. If you cast your bias aside, it was Superman who did the most saving, since no trauma pushed him to be a hero against the world that took everything away from him. He chose to use his own abilities for mankind and has the most lives saved under his belt.

Whoa, you buried the lead here. The DCAU did an adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?!

If we really wanna cook then wouldn't be Joe Chill be DCAU's greatest hero as the mugger who killed Bruce's parents allowing him access for the greatest weapon of all Money.

I swear you were going to say Joe Chill. But then you probably wouldn't say Joe Chill because in the DCAU there arguably is no Joe Chill... daaaaaaaaah

There are several JL episodes make a point to emphasize the supportive roles of other heroes, not the heavy hitters. People who move victims out of danger and provide emergency services. Even the prime example in this essay is an act of teamwork. Thats because there is no greatest hero, they don't exist. Every hero is a part pyramid, maybe that means uplifting a higher stone, but that does not make thier position in the structural whole any lesser.

it's a joke from the episode - a kid asks Booster Gold for his autograph, and then gets depressed when he realises he's not Green Lantern.

Nah, we cannot count "the inspiration" as the factor making the greatest hero. At this rate, we can say the creator of The Green Lantern Corps are responsible because they created the ring John would use to help batman travel through time. Or we could guve the credit to the man who killed Thomas and Martha Wayne for setting Bruce on his path to becoming a vigilante at all! Who's to say that Bruce's non-bat-related costumed identity would not have still attracted Chrono's attention? Maybe it just would have been the utility belt of "The Black Phantom" instead? The argument of, Andrea Beaumont leaving Bruce, thus making him Batman, being grounds for being the greatest hero in the DC universe is simply too briad and lenient to not include the dozens of other factors that lead to the heroes becoming heroes in the first place.

No because he committed murder to set Bruce on the path to becoming a vigilante. Andrea didn’t turn to crime until after she made him Batman.
