Maybe it's just me but I think what costed Rip the match is the fact that he didn't build any Bcopter, thus Hawke got more units and forced Rip to build anti-air while Hawke could just chill on his weak side. But hey I'm just a low ranked AWBW player so don't mind me. :3

With hindsight I think two passages were key to GetGood winning. Firstly, 10:50 - rip *needs* an income advantage vs Hawke, so he needs to push in either the top-left or bottom-right. Instead he pushes *both*, and loses. If rip had picked one place to focus his forces, he may have taken a city. Secondly, 14:37 - GetGood's wall here is inspired. Once Hawke has the income advantage, in GetGood's hands, that is very hard to counter. So some dabbling from rip, and a moment of brilliance from GetGood. Fantastically close and well-played from both, though.

The lack of air units feels like a bit of a macro blunder for Rip. He went to the trouble of freeing the airport, then built one TCopter and nothing else from it the rest of the match. If he'd skipped the early artillery and used that money to buy tanks he might've pulled off a brawlier earlygame and we'd be looking at a totally different match, or if he'd committed to the airport after freeing it and made that his new strong side after losing the right lane he might've been able to swing things back in his favor.

Rip_ fought on his weak side for the entire battle and applied very little pressure on his strong side. The ex machina was completely ineffective because he was in no position to take advantage. A few battlecopters prior to that would have helped. Having said all that, even a small income disadvantage is a big deal. The funds spent on the t copter and mechs may have allowed for a battlecopter though.

Agreed, it seems like he didn't really capitalize on the ex machina at all, he could've swung a few properties if he had prepared in anticipation, or maybe even do a front shift beforehand. His biggest problem this match: Not making enough Recons.

Really nice video, deej. Always nice to see these battles between the grandmasters So I have another reason for Rip's loss, which I think is the most important here He played on his weak side almost the entire match, like it might be good in the beginning if you're trying to get your opponent off guard, but after a while....you're playing 1 base vs 2 bases and an airport...which is definitely not in Rip's favor That in my opinion had much more impact than "Co Matchup" مرة ثانية....استمتعت بالفيديو كالعادة، استمر!

I know I'm a bit late to this vid, but I feel like Rip played right into GetGood's hand by attacking into that wall on the left side. Ended up giving a pretty good amount of charge. And you should do a collab with Semi Original Guy, he loves medium tanks, calls them "classy", and doesn't like neotanks. I bet you two could have a fun conversation

To me you are kinda to advance wars what T90 is to Age of Empires 2. The absolute best commentator, and also a really solid player. I only wish AW had the potential to grow as much as AoE2, but with nintendo that's never gonna happen, they're all profit and lawsuits.

Great commentary, but I would say try and avoid personal bias towards one player over the other. You were over praising rip_ in my opinion while on the other end I feel like you weren’t giving GetGood the praise that he deserved for his play style. Once we reached Mid game Hawk was in complete control of the situation in both income, units, damage done, CO power usage etc…
