thank you for that scriptural disection. 2 Thess has intrigued me for some years and i have heard many proposals as to who the MOL actually is. what you have said makes sense in regard to this progressive evil that we see in the world. i would add another dimension to what you have said , and that is the influence of secular science and education that teach evolution as a fact, in effect denying the Genesis account of creation. this is part of the deluding influence that people blindly follow without questio,n and the same people dismiss the gospel as fairytale stories. and therefore it should be clearly visible as a deluding influence to those who believe that the scriptures are Gods word and is therefore the truth. thank you for that breakdown of scripture it helps me greatly

I found this very interesting. In verse 7 of 2Thess 2 where it says "until he be taken out of the way" actually seems to mean "until he be formed out of the midst." Look up taken and way in a Greek Lexicon. He is being formed out of the midst of lawlessness. I have many thoughts on this. We live in a time when much the church is no longer a city on a hill. Her light is dim with the UNBALANCED doctrine of grace lulling many to sleep. God's people as a whole are in the bed with the world. Paul tells us in 1Thess. 5 what our protection is in the day of trouble; the breastplate of Faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. Proverbs 11:8 The righteous man is delivered from trouble and it falls on the wicked....PS 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will hide me ... OUR PROTECTION IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE IS NOT ESCAPING IN A RAPTURE BUT RATHER THE FORMING OF CHRIST IN US.

Enjoyed your talk. However, are you saying that since the falling away and the revealing are two separate events then it could never be the same person/entity? It is true the Bible doesn't say it's a religious figure, but it also didn't say it wouldn't be. I would suggest that view 3 the man of lawlessness is a result of view 4, and when view 4 (lawlessness) has fully matured, then the man of lawlessness (view 3) will be fully revealed. We all struggle with the principle of lawlessness/selfishness, but there is no other institution throughout history that we find this principle more ardent. Good series! Would love to hear your thoughts.

Leftism through the ages: From the pagans of ancient history to the modern Democrat Party and the apolitical leftists. There is a direct connection. That's the Spirit of Lawlessness. One day there will be a figurehead leftist who will come close to succeeding in replacing God with Government and Environmentalism. That's when Jesus will come. I firmly believe that.

If this is literal, then the temple has to be reconstructed because apparently this individual will set himself up in the temple and proclaim himself to be God. History suggests that similar events have happened previously (e.g., Antiochus IV). In this case, Antiochus set up a statue of Zeus in the temple and sacrificed pig's blood - which Daniel refers to as an abomination. Epiphanes refers to "God manifest." The Roman general Titus also engaged in sacrifices prior the destruction of the temple in AD 70. What is most interesting is this person will be destroyed by the Second Coming of Christ. So this has to refer to a future event.

Jeffrey Guse - Ponder this? If man does not know his body is the temple of God, and man does whatever man chooses with the flesh through his mind, and thought. Who controls the temple? If man is in control then man is lawless except for his laws. thus man sins against his God. Sin is lawlessness. These are considered abominations, to name only a few. Man is born in sin. Man loves himself, he loves other men, and he has other gods who cannot save. And, when that day comes for the man, then will he know his Christ within. But, the temple of God which man is destroying daily, in many different ways, can be rebuilt when man returns to his God. Man then knows the temple of God is the body where his soul is. The spirit of God dwells within man, as man. Man walks with his Eternal God. If not, we can throw the bible away and forget what Jesus taught.

The reformers correctly identified the Papacy as the 'man (perpetual system) of sin'. See Professor Walter Veith, Two Beasts.

The fourth theory was what I believed before watching the video and like he says we'll know when we see it, no need to worry and assume.. also I would guess the mark of the beast could be dna activation, becoming God, so the devil enters the temple of God and claims to be God. Accept an injection to alter your DNA so you can become spiderman Superman etc and be immortal and watch TV by closing your eyes, make phone calls from your brain, fly, the list if never ending, and those who don't receive the mark are persecuted and flee to forests.
