Hearing it so thoroughly described, it sounds more like a eldritch abomination than most other cryptids, no discernable face/features, supposed precognition, causes horrific dreams and nightmares, the 50 voice scream, and just generally being a grim omen of something man-made crumbling in a catastrophic event

I know someone who believes that the “Mothman” is actually an Angel taking form in a corporeal body, and it’s trying to protect us from horrible tragedy’s. It’s actually an interesting theory when you take a look at all the events conspiring after he was seen.

1. its not real (Watch trey the explainer's video about it) 2. If it was real, I think it would be some sort of undiscovered animal, not an angel. Mothman did not warn the people of danger, it allegedly terrorised the town and killed someone's dog. Plus, Mothman had nothing to do with the silver bridge.

Mothman has always been a favorite of mine, when I was in the third grade I read about him for the first time and learned about the theories that he was an omen of disaster. Then the book I was reading said he may have died in the silver bridge collapse which made me super sad, in my mind he died trying to warn people. Rest In Peace, Mothman. May you be surrounded by lämps in moth Heaven.

I love the attention to detail Bethesda:Austin put into building lore on a game without NPCs. They even have the famous mothman statue in the in game location of Point Pleasant, and the TNT munition plants. However, the game was pretty bugged when I still played it so whenever I saw a mothman, he either got randomly killed by the server, or he ran away

In a way yes, the main differences being long horse is only in dreams and usually is not related to disasters, depending on how long the dreamer perceives long horse as the worst it becomes do TL;DR Long horse is inconveniences or minor accidents and moth man is huge disasters

this actually reminds me of a funny moment back in 6th grade 2015. i just moved from West Virginia to North Carolina, and me and the class were watching this Danger Dolan video about cryptids (back when Danger Dolan was actually good.). and he got to the Mothman part and said he was from West Virginia. as soon as he said that, the entire class looked straight at my eyes with disbelief. i felt weird, yet accomplished that i was from a state that Mothman was from.

Here's a fun story I used to go to a summer camp called Camp Wiregrass in Alabama, and they had a Mothman legend. Counselors and long time campers had reported seeing Mothman before, and there was even a "ritual" to summon him. Late at night you had to go out onto the baseball pitch and walk the bases without looking behind you. If you did this, Mothman would follow you the whole time, but you weren't supposed to look behind you. I can't remember much as this was several years ago, but it was a little spooky lol.
