Your daughters are above and beyond. No shame. Spent 21 years in the USMC. Your daughter gave everything to serve. I am grateful 🙏. This family is legendary. Colin and Others have to be so proud that your family accomplished this feat. I'm so impressed. Carry on Semper Fi.

Syd, you are a trooper! You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Just decide you are going to do it and that NOTHING will stop you, and nothing will. Be it a small hole you need to crawl into, or a pile of faring compound that needs to be mixed in a hurry. All is possible, just sometimes it needs to happen at YOUR pace. Breath deep, hold it for a count and let it out slowly. I have enjoyed watching the amazing progress you guys have made with this boat. When I first saw the gaping, ragged holes, I thought WOW, that will take FOREVER to fix, and it will NEVER look right. But I was wrong. The entire family has done a phenomenal job with that boat. I can't wait to see her floating like her designers intended, or better yet, sailing over the oceans. I realize you still have a LONG way to go, but WOW, just WOW!

Syd, you are SO brave! This was not optimal, but don't give up. Don't let fear run your life, if you can keep the triggers to a minimum you'll do great. Just don't let it take over, like I did. (I had to eat Those Pills for years, due to my panic taking over my life.) Please, seek help now, before it escalates. I got a handle of some of the peeves I had, but I let one get too big. Love, from Sweden. /Catta

Sydney.... Brave, brave girl!!! You are so kind to try to help out and not leave the hard challenge of close spaces to your sister. The next time you try to conquer your fear, please do it in a place that is easy to exit. Having trouble getting out would make anyone panic. I can't imagine getting stuck and trying to fight a fear at the same time! I hope you are all recovered! It was interesting to see you kick the keel after it was only attached at those 4 points. That indicates how strong the attachment is when it is fully filled in and fiiberglassed. Amazing!

I'm 70 years old Syd an have had claustrophobia most of my life since I got stuck in a culvert that went under a road and it took digging up the road and cutting the culvert to get me free. I was stuck in there for over 12 hours and the kitten I was trying to rescue walked out 15 minutes after I got stuck. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed about your condition, most people have no idea how terrifying it is. I can't even ride in a car without my window down a couple of inchs. Your a very brave young lady and I hope you can get the help I never got to get past this terrible condition. Lol God bless you and help you get past your fears.

Not to worry too much, your dad will cut the hull into absolutely repairable ribbons before he leaves you stranded in a hull cubby. You might want to realize this and cut out larger openings temporarily before they create risk and anxiety. You can glass everything back to full strength after the "tight" scarry inside work is complete. Great progress on an enormous job.

I have an idea for you , having seen you and many car body shop work you have a task of sanding down lots of high edge filler . It’s possible that after spreading the filler put cling film on top and smooth it out pushing the high spots down then peel of to a uniform surface with minimum sanding. Mick G UK.

I had a fear of heights, I overcame that fear by taking baby steps. Working on a 12 foot roof, staring down a forth floor balcony until I found myself standing on the edge of a 500 foot cliff, just standing there ,it felt good. Trying to overcome a Phobia takes a great amount of courage ask for help, I did. and it worked. Besides, your dad was there, I met his kind before. I can assure you that if your life was in danger he would turn into a craised lunatic who would not hesitate to pound the hull to pieces to get you out.

That's a lot of work of got done in this episode. Regarding the "ugly green" color filler; don't let the olive industry hear you say that as that's as close to an olive green color as you'll find anywhere. Also, while it's close to olive-drab used by the US Military on their camo paint, it's not quite there. Regardless of the color, the end results are looking really good in preparation for the final gel coat. The tight space episode is completely understandable and it's good to see that it end the way that it did. My wife has severe claustrophobia and would not even attempt that repair so kudos for the effort to even try it.

Had to go look up the purpose of a "Boot Stripe" guess it is just an aesthetic thing for the most part. Point worth mentioning about fairing compound is that if the glass work is done properly, most of the fairing compound gets sanded off. Makes for expensive dust but a nice looking hull.
