Let’s talk about how gorgeous that blue paint color is! I don’t know why I love it so much when boats blend a little with the sky and the sea, but I do. Nice color choice! Can’t wait to see your progress once the resin comes in. Have a great Thanksgiving week!

Really enjoy watching the progress, have you seen sailing sunrise ep 15 and problems they had with water getting into engines on same boat as yours.would hate to see you go through that with your brand new ones.

I don't remember, but do you still have the mast or was it destroyed? If not when do get the new one?

Can you elaborate a little more on the term “sacrificial keel”? What does it mean? You created new keels and had two more shipped from South Africa. Slightly confused…..

What is your AIS ID. I just ran into your U/T chanel yesterday and I have been kinda binge watching your episodes ( but having a bit of a challenge keeping track of where you are both in location and progress status ) . You all are doing such a fantastic job as a family . I'm in FL a snow birder and wish you all safe seas .
@SailingDauntless Жыл бұрын
We are just in FL now in the Ft Pierce Area. We do not have power in the boat and thus have not turned on our electronics yet so no AIS. Thank you for watching and for the compliment!

Wait if it is tempered glass you will not be able to cut it down it will shatter if you try it your self. Only a professional with a laser cutter would be able to do so.
@clivestainlesssteelwomble76653 жыл бұрын
Its all plastic...probably ballistic grade Lexan ...it looks like its about 10-15mm thick.
@bionicsasquatch3 жыл бұрын
@@clivestainlesssteelwomble7665 thanks I am still learning about stuff like that on boats and yachts.
@clivestainlesssteelwomble76653 жыл бұрын
@@bionicsasquatch If they did use glass on a boat...and some do it would probably be like most auto glass laminated but thicker. A cubic meter of water weighs 1metric ton...X that by the speed and you can see why some sailors have Hurricane blinds they can fix over windows to stop them from being smashed in, in a big storm or if a piece of furniture like a block or cleat gets ripped loose and starts flailing around.😬... the old sailing ship order was to batten down the hatches , secure the ports and man the pump's.. Designs like Portuguese bridges and multiple heavily angled smaller window panels are all features of working vessels operating in high sea states. Its one of the biggest difference s between ocean liners of old and modern cruise ships.. the amount and size of the windows as well as the over blown floating hotel superstructures. Glass is also heavy even if it is structurally integrated, so has implications for performance and pleasure vessels.

Big fan of you guys and your latest project. Honesty Alert: I could not stand the "comfort food" segment. I was forced to fast forward through that so that I did not vomit my own comfort food all over my shirt. I know that this "food and how to cook and eat it properly" thing seems to be a thing with many of the sailing channels, but I couldn't possibly give less of a shit what you guys or anyone else for that matter eat on rainy days (or sunny or cloudy or stormy days) or how it is prepared, etc... I wanna see you break shit and fix shit and say shit and do shit and eventually sail super cool shit... Not interested in how you cook shit and eat shit that will ultimately just make everyone shit... Just my $.02... Still love you guys... Keep fixing your shit !!! ;) P.S. - I had pizza.

Disagree, I am interested in all aspects and it was just a quick bit.
