The problem with the new characters is they just have the best tools of everyone: hellsweeps, orbitals, parries, punishes, counters, range, mixups, damage, wallcarry AND good movement. Most characters have a few of these but Leroy and Fahkumram have all of them, along with fairly easy execution. Very low risk high reward.

It's mainly their damage and easy bread and butter combos. Where the technically skilled characters have to work hard to hit 100 damage. Dlc characters have it built into their basic staples.

@RoboRadiot as a Miguel man I can definitely state that quite a few players don't really know how to handle Miguel's pressure since he isn't exactly played that much. But honestly if you keep him out of close range and keep in mind that his weak side is to the left those two things alone can make a match harder for Miguel

For Heihachi and Miguel my strategy is usually to block a string and try to backdash while they’re attacking. Hopefully they whiff something or I can interrupt their movement when they try to keep up with me. The problem is when you get cornered, so try to avoid that as much as possible.

@@Esappx3 You can counter him the same way you would counter the rest of the Mishima cast, SSL to avoid hell sweeps, fuzzy guard his ff3, or EWGF. He's bad mainly because there are other MIshimas that do everything he does but just better. His poking is terrible and slow. And a lot of his most used moves are very punishable. HIs combos are so-so.

As an Armor King main, I agree. There's not much shenanigans with AK when your opponent has good throw break, pretty much one of the more honest characters I think. Too honest for his own good. Still a cool character though so, I'll still main him.

Kinda sorta but not really. Voldo shares similarities with a few characters in Tekken. He does have a mantis stance, like zafina, similar hurtboxes but different looks. Voldo is super evasive with his weird moves, kinda like Eddy in a way. Voldo key attribute is the ability to fight in both front & backturn, in standard and his stance. He is kinda like Lei in that regard. Both have unique ability while laying on ground. Zafina is more about getting oppressive with the now buffed & absurd hurtboxes of her two low stances, as well as the +frames of her scarecrow stance. Her core design inspiration is the Egyptian with ancient mystic touch which Namco did a pretty cool job with, especially with the mantis/tarantula concepts.

All his stances you can pick up for decent combos or punish, SS non existent and he has no longer the strongest backsdash of the game (just see how Zafina , Fakhumram or Leroy can fly away in skilled hands). It's just annoying because he keeps moving, has a couple of tricks or setups and beginners are not used to his ginga but that's it.

I remember he was not very good because his lows suck dick and he didn't have a while standing launch punisher like many others do, which meant that you had to do an electric out of a crouch to punish unsafe moves that leave you crouched which is much harder to do than with other characters. but he seemed to have gotten a launch punisher with season 3, so idk how the heihachi situation is now since I stopped playing right before season 3 hit.

Everyone seems to want nerfs rather than more buffs. Playing defensively and patient which is always encouraged by the pro players feels crazy hard to me atm when mistakes are being punished so hard with over the top moves and damage in the current meta.

Eddy requires a different fighting mindset to pull off... JDCR is great at the orthodox (drag king heihatchi) however, Eddy is an unorthodox fighter that is why he doesn't play Eddy since Eddy cant sidestep, @6:22 and JDCR is used to sidestepping moves. Again, different fighting styles is not a gimmick and Eddy is weaker then Zafina but to each his own.

I just picked up Miguel for fun, and honestly I don’t know why he is rated so low? He has insane pressure, great stance moves, one of the best damage in the game(staple combos are 80+ with wall), great lows, powercrushers and launchers and mixup potentional. You can't have insane pressure when you're as linear as Miguel. He's got good poke strings, good CH, really bad punishment, struggles to track, poor neutral and T-Rex arms. Can struggle for mids too.

Theres a saying in the FGC that if you make everyone OP no ones OP. But I disagree with that :D. In my opinion that is how MKX was. Almost every char had a safe unseeable 50/50. It was a game of "who presses more buttons and who guesses right". If all your moves are bad you have to play a lot safer and movement becomes much more important. In my opinion thats more fun.

I don't like these type of videos, not because I think JDCR is wrong, no. I dislike it cuz very weak players will take these type of opinions as proof that it's not them who's bad, it's their character. This mindset of never taking responsibility for your losses is poison for your own growth as a player. When he says Armor King is top 5 worst characters, that doesn't mean he's an disadvantage at all in online ranked up to like the highest ranks. Neither is heihachi or even gigas. I think Eddy is like yoshi in the aspect of not being able to rely on combos for your big damage. More creativity is required. Yoshis wall damage has been improved in season three though. I don’t play eddy but he appears to be more difficult than most characters in high level play.

yoshi is way better than eddy I main both eddy and yoshi, when I playin yoshi in high ranked, people would still fail to punish or fall into all kinds of traps while eddy get punished to death even if you playin as safety as possible

High execution at first but once you become fully acclimated to his flamingo and L/R transitions, everything is cake. His damage output isn't the best but I'm considering adding him to my roster of mains as well. Very fun yet tricky to use for high level play

I'm questioning why JDCR doesn't do down 3+4,1 against a low stance Zafina despite being a pro player,I learned that in roughly an hour of fundamental practice Armour kings best low is down 3+4,also every pro player has mained Leroy and Fahkumram because they are tier whores, as for me i play Ganryu,Miguel, Armour King mostly and trying to learn Bob as I got bored of playing Geese and Fahkumram....also Miguel is one of the best characters cus no one plays him which makes him unpredictable that and he hasn't had no nerfs or buffs in a long time despite him being over powered

No, she has good combo damage wich is hard to pull off for beginners because of the weird input timing you have to pull off correctly. She also has a really weak punish game and the second worst backdash, trash movement in generall wich makes pressure reeeeaaaally hard to handle and worst of all she is the easyiest too learn in terms of match up knownlegde. Also her wallcarry options are below average wich makes the big combo damage in many stages unreliable. And she has many more problems. Her damage is overall mediocre and she is hard to master. I know that is an unpopular opinion but it is just "cool" to bash her because "she does not fit in tekken". She got even hated before she was playable. There are character like paul who can literly 3hit you even without rage. But her damage is op? Like for real? :D

@@trezayngounder558 Nah i woudn't say that. I am currently studying design in germany so i think i can make this point. She has pretty good Charakter design. The way a good character is designed is really easy to make out. If you can recognize her/him by just looking at her/his sihllouette and if between 3 and 5 colors are used then it is already a solid design if the colors fit (wich they do, they're all cold colors). If you personally just don't like it, that is completly fine. I for excample hate Alisas design. Even tho it is technicly still a good design. Also, Lucky Chloe was designed by Yūsuke Kozaki wich has design expierience since 1997. Gameplaywise i can't say that she is good. But bad would be an overrreaction. All she needs is a better backdash. That would in my opinion put her slightly above mid tier. But does still not fix every problem. Wich is totaly fine that way since i think every character has to have flaws.

As someone who mains Lars, this take is a welcome surprise. I think he's gotten better too (season 1 was tough), but I think there are many areas where it's clear he struggles to keep up or provide alternative play when compared to the rest of the roster

Jhavonte' Golida I’m not a lars player, but my sister is, so I’ve been playing against lars since season 1. The good changes are quite noticeable. In season 1 and 2, she could barely get one win in, like, 20 games. I would be stuck with a 17 win streak and guilt for being able to beat her so badly. The match up that we usually play has become a lot more balanced now.

He has sidestep. It's not like eddy where it evades nothing, jack can evade linear moves with his sidestep.
