I’ve been a Frye fan since I’ve started playing. My first fest was Sweetfest and loved playing on her team. Every other fest, I believe that Frye had some of the best choices for me (besides Fame and Strawberry kind of). I have been on her team the entire time. I don’t normally choose idol, unless i truly don’t care for the choices(like the greetings fest). I really enjoy Frye’s design and personality. I truly believe that she would have cut out to be the best leader, as she just feels like one. Honestly, the joke of “oh look at her forehead!!!” is overused and kinda not funny anymore. It’s not that Frye fans are weak, it’s that we’re always not the majority and not large enough to make a difference. I can tell you right now, whenever i have a mirrors and they don’t squidparty, they are so aggressive and fight well. When you look more into Frye’s character in the game and artbook, you’ll see she’s just a really silly and caring inkling! (sorry for such a long comment, this just perturbed me 😭)

im really starting to realize that it's pointless rooting for frye, her losing and all that. I feel as if her chances of winning are like finding a needle in a 10 pound haystack. I’ve always loved the energetic characters. I love Callie so much. I do prefer Marina over pearl, but Frye is absolutely my favorite deep cut member because she’s energetic and fun and has a lovable personality. I’ve been on Frye’s team the majority of the time, but I can say whole-heartedly that I choose based on theme and not idol. I love Frye, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to choose her every splatfest, and when I do, complain that splatfest is rigged or get pissed when she loses. All that matters to me is that I get to see the idols perform, play some splatfest, and enjoy the time I had.

In fact, I really like all idols, but I chose what I really like. But looking at further splatfests, I began to notice that...Nintendo is not particularly worried about choosing where it could be of equal value. Like, remember the same Pearl and Marina, they always had 50-50, and here we have 3 idols, but now with a 33.3 percent chance that someone will win. Yes, all the choices are inherent in the characters themselves by their nature, but I hope that this new year will be the best for Frye.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to play a Splatfest, but when I did I always chose Frye for no reason except I always agreed with her takes. My spicy and sour tolerance is very low, white chocolate is too sweet while dark chocolate is just pure shit, aliens are cool asf, fist bumps are fun and I hate too much physical contact, and I chose Frye for best leader bc I agree with her most of the time!! To be fair though I chose Shiver for the ice cream flavour because I just like vanilla the most. Her boss battle did make me jump off a cliff though

You know what’s funny? I was kinda helping team Solo win in tri-color battle. I was on Friends and if I saw my team wasn’t able to get more turf than Family, I would actively turf over Family’s turf and let Solo paint our turf, regardless if Family was on our team or not. I’d rather take a loss than have Family win. I didn’t quite throw (I still wanted my team to win of course), but when given the chance to lose to Family or Solo, I’d take Solo any day. Funny thing is, Frye is one of my favorite idols, but I did NOT want her to win this time.

Im just gonna say this: Frye is my fave first of all. And I feel like she isn’t as appreciated as much. Some of her choices I feel like are basic and what’s weird is since this new mechanic of there being a 3rd option kinda screws things a bit over? Maybe not. Anywho Frye has a good amount of people who like her, like Big Man. She has the most story and the most personality from what we know from story mode and dialogue. And tbh once splatfests are over in splatoon 3, I’ll still always root for Frye in story mode. Her design is very unique, a mix of Marie and pearl imo. She looks like she has a lot of wisdom for someone who looks and acts a bit old but reassured you she’s very strong ^^ Oh and her music rocks. Her solo is the best and I really love her singing and shivers. Big man needs more appreciation tho
