For context, RIver and the Doctor are essentially meeting in reverse order, so when the Doctor says it's the first time they've kissed, for her she realises it's probably the last time they'll kiss from her point of view. That's pretty tragic.

Don't worry too much about making sense as you go along this season. Just enjoy the ride. This is my favorite season of Doctor Who because of the unending questions and the dynamic between all the characters. Great reactions

I'm glad to find more and more people feeling this way. A lot of people get hung up on the negatives this season and seem to miss all the ABSOLUTELY NUTS stuff they do this year as well. Yeah some of it is messy but the highs this season are some of the highest in the whole history of Who.

​@@garrettwhite5943Until S10 aired, this was my second favourite season of NuWho (after S5), and I was also quite mystified as to why it had a bad reputation. I always wondered whether it was because the season is very front-loaded with a lot of the bigger moments, while the second half is where most of the more standalone episodes are.

Thanks Emma. This was a really nice surprise. I wasn't expecting a video this week. Hope all is well with you! I love this season btw. It's a bit timey wimey, but I find it very strong, and the overall arc to be very good. Hope you enjoy it! On the Amy/Rory thing, sometimes Moffat just likes to toy with your emotions and it was completely that. It can be irritating, but it's his style.

I did feel how Amy referred about Rory could have been done better. It is poignant the First/Last Kiss between the Doctor and River. The whole situation with Amy raises all sorts of questions to be resolved. I think this series is even better than the last.

Not sure which is scarier! Weeping Angels or The Silence?! Those two episodes had me reeling! Don’t know where else to put this: I recommend a classic, jump out of your seat thriller for Halloween. WAIT UNTIL DARK with the lovely Audrey Hepburn. For dramatic effect and to see the screen more easily, dim the lights or turn them off during the final 8 minutes.

I was waiting for the end to this episode. One way to leave you wanting more after the season-opener. The first half of this season is wild, and you don't have long to wait for the answers to start being revealed. Plus, now that you know about The Silence, I can go into the theory that I have around The Lodger episode from last season. We saw that The Silence had time engines last episode, so it's fairly safe to assume that the one above Craig's flat belonged to one of them that fell foul of the Doctor's telepathic kill order. Given how a malfunctioning time engine almost destroyed the Tardis (& Amy) in that episode, my theory is that The Silence used a time engine to draw the Tardis to Amy's time and then blew it up in The Pandorica Opens.

Remember that the silence in the ladies room told Amy to tell the doctor what he must not know (that she thought she was pregnant) and even though she didn’t remember, she had a compulsion to tell him. The silence can tell people what to do, like a hypnotic suggestion, which th3 doctor used against them. when the doctor put the scene in the glitch on the moon landing tape, the whole human race had the command to shoot the silence. So the silence had to flee. That ending! We all had our jaws on the floor. I loved this because I was 9 years old when the historical events in here happened. I watched the moon landing live on TV, and there was a glitch just where the show put the Silence clip. I remember Nixon, who was actually taken down during the Watergate scandal because he taped everything in his office. There are so many accurate historical things in here that I remember living through. This season definitely has an arc. In fact I’d say there is a multi season arc. Some episodes hit and some miss, but overall this is a great series. And yes, the doctor has a dark side - we saw flashes in Nine and Ten, but 11 goes from goofy to dark easily. The Doctor is always the same, it’s just each regen beings some of his core characteristics to the front and others fade back….butthey are the same characteristics.
