Im finding myself hard walled at plat 5 withing a few hundred points off of diamond with my juri and ive been playing her hella hard over the last few months i keep looking at some of your stuff to add to and evolve my overall gameplay and gameplan gotta say your stuff is so helpful. I just really feel myself as a player am getting both lucky who im matched with bur also im missing core things like good offensive presence and such, not really aure how to drill it and get better

Having more options is never a bad thing , you still do get the forced knockdown on CH, this just added more reward for hard reads to movement options like you mentioned. I think her stand HK punish counter is fine as it is too, being able to do any follow up at all is good when characters like cammy don't get anything in that situation. I would prefer characters be unique rather than them homoginizing their options so every character has the same options. Those limitations and how you develop strategies to play around them is what makes fighting games the most fun to me

I like this patch, I think juri is well balanced strength wise so just giving her fun things to do in niche circumstances feels like a good approach

I dont consider myself reliable about balance implications since i just entered the street fighter series at 6 (with a little 3s prior) but when this patch dropped i was so frustrated seeing so many clips of people showing there "anti air" punishes on people whiffing buttons that would never hit you in the first place and got to experience the patch hype exaggeration in real time. Even for dp punishes i labbed for hours and i struggled to find something more optimal or practical enough to warrant learning it over the punishes ive refined from watching you the last year. For the record im a big Juri believer and think shes in a pretty good spot just annoying when other people tell you your character is better when they dont understand them

Why is Juri such an odd character for Capcom to balance? They don't really ever nerf or buff in any significant way. They tend to just tweak existing moves and tools that don't see a lot of use.

well according to mago juri is stronger now, not because of the "buff" but because other top tiers got nerfed and by default she feels stronger.

I started on controller and rebound a few buttons to keep from overthinking and just recently switched to Hitbox because I wanted a little more consistency. Just go with whatever you find to be more comfortable and allows you to focus on the game and not the buttons you're pressing or how you're holding your hands/controller.

I like the feeling of keys. I have a haute42 t16 and I replaced the buttons with keyboard caps. I also had the b16 which is basically a keyboard. It’s just the feeling and the shape of the key layout that’s hard on a standard keyboard. Doable tho!

I started on keyboard for the first year of SFV and it worked great. it's a great option imo and v easy to switch to a hitbox controller if you ever want to (as long as you map your controls on KB like a hitbox)
