Well I wish I could say the same. Don't get me wrong I was and still am a huge fan. I owned both of his live albums and loved them! I was so looking forward to seeing him on the "Like a Rock" tour in Toronto. The show was only about 45 minutes long. So many songs didn't get played. What there was, was good. But sooo short. Maybe it was the end of the tour and they were tired and burnt out. I don't know. But I was disappointed. Still love him though. Great American Singer/Story teller.

@@graybri That would suck. I saw shows on every tour since Against the Wind - and they were always around 2 hours. I saw Queen with Freddie and I think Bob Seger has that same type charisma, different style and personality. He always seemed like we were doing him a favor, in a good way. Like this song says "… Out there in the spotlight You're a million miles away Every ounce of energy You try to give away As the sweat pours out your body Like the music that you play Really does describe how he performs -even his last tour, when he was 74

Bob Seger is a great rock singer, songwriter & musician known for his raspy powerful voice. He wrote & recorded songs that dealt with love, women & blue-collar themes. "Turn The Page" is my favorite song by him. But he has so many great songs especially in the 70's-80's such as "Mainstreet", "Still The Same", "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", "Hollywood Nights", "Against The Wind", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Shame On The Moon", "Roll Me Away", "Like A Rock", "Shakedown", "We've Got Tonight", "Old Time Rock & Roll" etc.

Back in the late sixties to the late seventies Bob's hair was as long as Sam's , hence the " woman or a man " lyrics . Bob mentored a young Glen Frey several years before the Eagles were formed . That was an alto saxophone you heard , played by the late Alto Reed , when he passed away is when Bob quit touring saying that it just wasn't the same anymore .

Yeah, so I was at this concert. This is from "Live Bullet," which was recorded over two nights at Cobol Hall in Detroit Michigan in 1975. That line "Sometimes you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can..." is in reference to long hair. Long hair hippies were completely despised in the 60's and 70's. Being a native of Detroit, we loved Bob Seger LONG before he became a national superstar. As Kid Rock said at his Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction, Seger paid more dues than all the other "70's" rockers COMBINED. We loved him. But no one else really did. Until "Night Moves" was released. Then, in his own words, he went from touring in station wagons to jet airplanes.

Seger is a legend! His voice, his song writing...the best! He's not only in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, he is also in the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his amazing stories he tells!! You mention the story of the song and you were spot on about the long hair...when it says they went into the restaurant and people were talking is that a woman or a man, it's because at the time Bob had really long hair. Seger is a master storyteller! All his songs are stories! Turn the Page is a slower beat that showcases his amazing voice and it's slower than what you will normally hear in his catalog, but it was a great introduction! Bob is ALL ROCK-N-ROLL and his gritty voice is a perfect match!! FInd some videos that show him singing live, he rocks!!! If you decide to go down the Bob Seger Rabbit Hole, and I think you two are a perfect match and need to hear more, then I am ALL IN! (I'm all in for a trip down the Led Zeppelin Rabbit Hole too!)
