My version of the out there theory: I think she's blackmailing Rachel's dad which is why she's happy at the end of the episode. She just watched them start a forest fire and if she knows who Rachel is, that gives her more blackmail she can use against him. A theme of Life is Strange is that the law/authority figures are completely useless so this could be more of that since the DA (Rachel's dad) is corrupt/being blackmailed. I think she works for the guy we were introduced to at the beginning of the game Damon Merrick. Frank sounded pretty scared of him when you ask about him but he saves you from the skeevy guys who while scary to Chloe weren't a threat to Frank. Damon might be a big crime boss or he might be into something supernatural rather than money and uses beautiful women to hide his crimes.

In my opinion, you ARE overthinking... xD For me it's a little bit simpler. Her smile at the end and the fact that she is so chill even tough her ass is about to burn means that she knows what happened and who was responsible for the fire. As if she knew rachel would see her and the father and she was provoking rachel. Her smile was defenetly evil. As if she planned it this way. Furthermore you can't tell me that the wind with rachels cries were not supernatural. And the fact that rachel knows everything about what chloe did without seeing it. I think she has some super powers just like max. (Different ones). It could be that the women is rachels actual mother, and she has some super powers too and rachel inherited some and now with the fire and cries she caused she can be certain that rachel is her daughter or something. Or the women is not rachels mother but also some super natural being who wants to exploit rachel or rachels father. Or she is a representation of the 'not trustworthy' part of the raven. We'll see

Fire can't cause wind. You need oxygen of some sort in order to start a fire or in this case for a fire to spread. Now whether if that was intentional or just a coincidence is beyond me at this point. But, we'll find out in the next two episodes.

Here's what I'm thinking. That woman in the white dress actually Rachel's mother. Maybe she heard that Rachel thought her Mother was her actual Mother but it's not, the Woman in the white dress is. So, since Rachel's mother saw that Rachel burned down the forest, her Mother didn't want Rachel to get caught that she did this. So, her Mother pretends that she's the one did that by smoking near the fire. And that smile, I think it's because her Mother saw her for the first time from a long time, and that smile is the smile of proudness. IF that makes sense.

Maybe that woman is Jefferson's assistant for his plan to capture Rachel. She knew that eventually Rachel suspects her father of cheating so she may follow him to see the truth. Seeing them together would make Rachel more vulnerable and an easy target for Jefferson. My secound theory is that the woman may be a Jefferson, (or) someone from highschool who knows how popular and appreciated Rachel is, and who wants to destroy her reputation or her mental health or who simply wants her to act wrong.

Here is my supernatural theory: Woman in white had a butterfly tatoo on his shoulder and definitely got pleased when the oak tree was caught on fire.The tree venerated by native indians was resembling peace and harmony in Arcadia Bay. Destruction of it was the kickstart of tornado which would eventually destroy the town. Rachel had to die because of her unholy act along with Chloe.Thus in first game no matter what Max does Chloe always ends up dead many times, only sacrificing her stops tornado from happening.

That's an interesting theory. I wonder if there will be more foreshadowing of the storm in the next episodes. A part of me isn't satisfied with the storm as it was explained in the end of the original game, just the result of Max abusing time. It will be interesting to see where this prequel goes.

My first thought was that the woman was Rachel, and then I thought it was Max since people constantly said she looked like Rachel when she was dressed like her. Both don't seem to fit since Rachel isn't confirmed on having time-travelling powers, and Max in no way would look like the woman here due to the time-traveling rules to begin with. I do have a theory that Rachel has time-traveling powers. How could she know everything that happened to Chloe throughout the day when she wasn't next to her to begin with.

I write from brother's profile so he will kills me but... I need to share my theory. I think it can't be Rachel from future (kissing own father? no way). BUT what about this - years ago man and woman fall in love, had child and she leave. Mostly it's the father who leave but at some cases it's different. We know he has money. I think your probably wrong on this one AGirlAndAGame regardless Your theory vids are awesome!/ I just don't think this woman is her biological mother my theory.{Just a dumb long theory Prepare Yourself} I think this woman only wants her Dad's money because he makes a lot of money as DA . Basically Rachel is going through something similar to Chloe but in her case this woman is probably manipulating the whole situation(being that maybe Rachel's real mom is probably unaware of her husbands affair) and this mysterious lady is just getting her father to side over with her to just get the $ greens. Thus the reason why Rachel feel's so hurt and betrayed is because she feels stupid for completely trusting her father and now never wants to see him again. Maybe because she felt wronged cuz to Rachel it felt as if that's what her father was all about lying-(She also mentions on the train that she's used to lies because that's what her fathers job revolves around.(and lying is always mentioned throughout the entire episode either by Chloe or Rachel? ). Another reason is this woman looked a bit younger to me and if this was Rachel's mother why would there be a reason for her parents to go behind Rachel's back just to meet, even if they were divorced at some point? And then Rachel having to follow her father to this meet up which was something she suspected, just doesn't add up. Now this is mostly a side track note as to why I also think it couldn't be here mother - Is why does Rachel want to Run away?- aside from all the lying she is probably fed up with, the reason behind this is Rachel most likely had this planned out from the beginning, as nearing the end of the episode she implies it (the whole ditching class was just to catch her father cheating) and Why would Rachel want to run away if it was not for something that she did not agree on. Such as a relationship that to her was completely wrong. She also knew/suspected her father was cheating because she wasn't surprised about seeing her father kissing another woman. So in the end I think Rachel hates her father because she feels that not only is he lying but hurting her mother by cheating with this woman, and with that being said Rachel wants nothing to do with either his father and this lady because she's fed up with all the hiding, lying and having to act like everything is okay when it's not as if ''Nothings changed'' -(hint)on the train- Dialogue option; Chloe-''Maybe if you had my life you'd understand'' - Rachel- ''No, I get that'' -in other words Rachel has her own 'David' in a way but her David is a bit more twisted. _Basically Rachel's going through something somewhat similar to Chloe_ and knowing Chloe is somewhat in the same boat as her but has 'more courage' then herself -''You're a Bad** Chloe Price''- she decides to bring Chloe along that way she won't feel as alone and hence Chloe can back her up from a sticky situation...Who Knows just a long a** theory...

True MorliHolect she does say that but Rachel tells Mr. Keaton that her mom in this case being ('Rose Amber') if you paid close attention and read the whole cast on the Tempest play on the computer in drama class you would know that's her real mom's name, and she was the one who took Rachel's costume and fixed it up a bit. I would assume that 'Rose Amber' is her mothers name because she was under ''A special thanks'' , which means she was one of the parents that took part in helping out with the play. And at the end of the episode Rachel tells Chloe that the woman making out with her father is definitely not her mother implying that Rachel's father is having an affair with the mysterious lady..
