The original script for Bad Boys was written with Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz in mind. The studios wasn't interested in the script, so Michael Bey got it and recruited Martin. Martin wanted Eddie Murphy, but Eddie wasn't in the budget. He reached out to Will and between their improvs and Michael Bay script changes Bad Boys came to life.

I don't know which one is my favorite. I always go back and forth on that. I feel like they each do different things well. Like this one still has some of the most iconic moments/shots. The scene in the store where they was asking for candy, the first pan around shot (which is still the best one), and Will running to chase the car to name a few. The 2nd one has the most action and some of the best comedy. The 3rd one has the best story and dramatic moments. Probably the best villain too. The last one is arguably the funniest one and it has a lotta good callbacks to previous films. It also has some of the best action, but different from Bad Boys 2. Either way though, I think they're all good movies which is good enough for me. Not too many buddy cop movies that go 4 for 4. Probably not too many comedy/action movies period that can go 4 for 4 after so many years and keep the quality the same if not better. 20:56 I heard he was actually ok when he played in high school. Nothing crazy but ayight. 35:55 I use to wonder that too. Why they didn't see him looking at them. I think it was just the editing tho. You can see in this shot that they weren't actually looking in his direction. 37:56 I would love to see a Bad Boys and Rush Hour crossover. Always thought that would be dope. It ain't gone ever happen though. We not even gone get that 4th Rush Hour movie like we thought we would. 40:50 She not only witnessed the murder, but she actually did get a good look at everyone that was there. Thats how she was able to identify one of them. She also immediately recognized the dude at the club who shot her friend and that's why she was about to shoot him. And she overheard them speak about when the deal was going down.

The 2nd one is my favorite Bad Boys movie and Favorite Martin Movie. A few other Martin movies are Life, Rebound, and Big Mama's House 2. RIP Michael Taliferro. 41:35 That's a good question. The answer is that they need her in court to testify against him. Yes, the cops can identify him, but having a witness that's not in law enforcement helps a lot with non-bias. Also, she was there when the crime happened. That's also why in The Godfather, they can't lock him up because they need at least one witness that has worked with the family.

A great, classic Michael Bay film. His mid 00s stuff was of varying quality, but the 90s and early 00s was box office gold. My favorite camera spin in the BB movies though is in the 2nd movie when they're in the Honduran dude's house shootout.

The reason Fouchet (Main villain) went after Julie by the end of the movie was kinda out of desperation (at least the way I saw it). Mike, Marcus, and Julie just came from Fouchet's lab during their stakeout. When Fouchet spotted them, he was tipped off to the fact that the cops were closing in his operation. It being so close to his deal, he couldnt afford for the cops to move in on him before he could make the deal. So he kidnapped Julie for leverage to force the cops to back up, lest they risk getting her killed. He only needed them to back off for a few hours and did not anticipate Mike and Marcus being able to track down his deal, let alone stop it.

Hell yeah, this movie is a 90s classic! The whole franchise is great IMHO but this is still my favorite entry, I've rewatched this one the most of the series. You may find the others funnier, especially the second one. Hey, Melo, you should check out "Fallen" (1998) with Denzel Washington & John Goodman, very, very underrated 90s flick, I think you'll really enjoy that one.
