Thanks for the Video 📹 as I'm thinking about buying a Ms 201tc Chainsaw for firewood cutting up, and the Bar and Chain combination that you reviewed is perfect for my needs.

The Light 04 bar is not a “light weight” or reduced bar it is the new branding for the Rollomatic E range of bars. The Light P01 and P04 are light or reduced weight bars. The weight saving between this and the 1.3mm version comes purely from it being a narrower bar. These new bars and 61 PS3 Pro are standard Fitment on the MSA 220 T here in Australia

The light 04 bar is as I understand 20g lighter than the Rollomatic equivalent. The main point is the efficiency.
@danijelmarkic4492 Жыл бұрын
it also seems to me that it somehow vibrates more on the light than with the rolomatik mace

Just bought a light 04 20" as a replacement for my rollomatic they look identical other than paint. Same size pitch teeth etc. all the numbers are the same and it takes the same chain my olde bar uses so am I missing something or can you put the skinny chain on either? My guess would be yes. Other than breaking out a set of veneers these look like copies

Great video James, its not about the chains its just your wanting more wood chip for Max to move with the forklift and bucket 🤣🤣

I’ve had an MS231/C with original blade 10 years now. I wonder will the lighter chain last that long come keeping it sharp.
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t last as long as the PS3 and rollamatic bars. You must keep that bar and chain well lubricated between uses for it to last 10 years 👍🏼

If it's anything like the 1/4" 0.43" bars and chains on the 150s it'll fit on the husky and echo saws too just add an extra link to the chain !
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
Interesting 👍🏼 thanks mate. Although anything with 1/4” chain makes me heave 😂
@theautisticarborist6846 Жыл бұрын
@@MachineryNation i quite like the Stihl quarter pitch, can get it savagely sharp, but it’d definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. What I was getting at however was this could potentially be an option to people whom use Husqvarna, Makita and echo too by adding an additional link to the chain in order to get the chain tensioner and oiler to line up ! Like I do with the 1/4” 0.43” 150 bars on the 2511s and Makita’s be it 18, 36 or 40v max

How much lighter is the actual bar itself? Can’t see weights on the Stihl website. What chain is on the rollomatic bar, ps3 or pmm3?
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head I think it is 20g lighter. Standard PS3 Picco Super 3 chain 👍🏼

@@MachineryNation Did you forget a zero? According to Stihl it's up to 200 grams lighter, not only 20.

I was gonna say it all comes down to price but I think I'd pay the extra just to get the job done quicker 👍

I don’t think there is much difference Bill. But 100% we all love chainsawing but if it makes it quicker, even better hahaz

I do have the Light 04 bars in my MSA300 and on the 220C, but in the case of the 220C the Light 04 that fits the machine is 5 cm shorter, I use to have a 40cm bar and now with Light 04 I only have 35cm.
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you are using them! Do you like them on your 300 and 220?
@sirvozelo1 Жыл бұрын
@@MachineryNation So far yes I like, for what I can see they are lighter and take a chain little thinner witch feels like the machines running little faster and the battery got me few more minutes sense the chain is doing a thinner cuts.

I love a chainsaw video and yes I agree the Light 04 bar is a better combo. What is even quicker on 201 is to convert it to 1/4 pitch and chain and run an unguarded chain you, really don't need a safety chain.
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
1/4 inch chain is great until you have to sharpen it, then it makes me heave 😂😂

Here you can clearly see, the newer saw needs the thinner bar. The engine speed goes down significantly. The old saw keeps the engine speed much better.The carburetor was probably throttled to comply with some emission standards that nobody needs.
@MachineryNation Жыл бұрын
I will check, but both these saws are the same age. Bother have done much work as they have been Stihl demo saws. As I mention at the end of the video, could of just needed warming up more or as we know, you can have 2 identical saws and they both run differently 👍🏼
