Let's be honest, Shrek 2 is the peak of Hollywood. Jennifer Saunders took four days for her to record her part in the movie, and you can tell she put her absolute heart into singing Holding Out for a Hero. Little did she know she'd be a part of one of the greatest scenes in a movie of all-time. That scene proves that putting licensed music over some insane action can create a masterpiece of a scene, even better that they incorporated some of the original music from the movie. It's better than the original song! They didn't HAVE to go that hard, but we're glad they did. The Fairy Godmother in general is such a solid villain.

I brought this in to play with my high school students during the last few days of the semester, and we had so much fun playing! I had to change the rules so that the losing team could put down the three the winning team didn't select, and we let in one sequel of a film. (but had to give the full title, ie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back could both be used in the toss-up)

Man, I love Tchaikovsky. When Russia was first not allowed to compete under their flag nor anthem at the 2018 Winter Olympics, their team's anthem was the Olympic anthem. For the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics, it was decided to let them have their own song that isn't the Olympic anthem. Russia wanted Katyusha (a Soviet war song) but that was rejected as it was deemed too Russian. The solution? They ended up with the beginning of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. Which, while not the Russian national anthem, is still quite a wonderful piece.

The one house rule I’d add (and I don’t know if this is part of the rules already) is that the quote must TRY to be a real quote. Like it’s okay if the words are wrong or it’s a one liner that summarizes a whole monologue etc, but it shouldn’t be a character just giving a summary of the plot in a way that they never would in the movie. Like “I’m a chef with a rat on my head” is not a quote, it’s a summary in first person.
