@Brandodamo nice one man, hope to see you drop a vid sooner than later but my favorite ratchets out there are all in the z series literally every model is good but in particular my favs are 3726ZB-(L280) as well as the 2726ZB-3/8(L160) as well as the 2726zb-3/8 compact model is so much more useful than I could have ever thought I mean gets in anywhere and not only that I actually use it for screw driving and it feels/works shockingly well.

Both awesome ratchet I have a hand me down snap and koken 3/8 ratchet. Tekton has an affordable small body 3/8 ratchet that is also good.

Another good test for back drag is too put a deep socket on anvil and hold it so the handle points down. Now slowly rotate socket and see how far from vertical the handle swings before it clicks (use can even use an app on your phone to measure that angle). The ratchets are similar lengths so I think it's a fair comparison. The Koken flex heads are pricey, I picked up their 72T 3/8" drive 150mm standard ratchet for $45 on Amazon.

crazy that snapon is the budget option. koken usa markup the price because they know people will still buy them cause they are just so good

Not if you go Amazon Japan... Much cheaper
@DownHillgamer6 ай бұрын
Yeah koken used to be even MORE cheaper before the new 72t stuff and then koken USA just stuck their dick in it all and the prices are literally higher than snap on now.

@@DownHillgamerliterally koken USA trying to funnel all koken sales in North America thru themselves is holding koken back in the states frfr cuz I bout the 2726-3/8zb for less than 75 taxes etc delivered and koken. But for the prices I’d Rather use the Kochen without warranty and just replace them then pay triple the price on their site as mentioned in the video the prices are stupid on their koken USA site will no longer warranty tools to the USA, I haven’t physically written into them but that’s what I’ve hear and but

Koken tools doesn’t try to be the strongest ratchets out there they do what they do better than anyone on the fucking planet snap on included

I love my old SK flex head 1/4 body 3/8 anvil. So smooth. That koken looks sweet though.

I own both and both are great ratchets. The Koken is unbelievable in blind and extra tight situations.

Holding the ratches by the head in the air would be a better test for back drag. The koken's rubber handle was not a fair matchup.

they made the anvil purposely to break before the teeth get shredded

I got the one with the anvil with a grove on it. I thought that was weird. Better to buy the 1/4 stubby and do the 3/8 swap.

Theyre both premium professional tools, I prefer the koken you cant beat that backdrag/smoothness/strength. I own both as well

Koken sockets absolutely for the win. Ratchets, personal choice any brand
@redmesa2975 Жыл бұрын
I just don’t get why I would need a 3/8 head on a 1/4 ratchet. 1/4 drive sockets go up to 9/16”, so I just use the quarter inch drive set
@onesikm3 Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly why they did that was because too many of these wrenches are breaking. But I don’t know really that’s the first time I’ve seen the anvil machined out thinner like that too? I will tell you thou that both the snap on are not going to take a ton of torque before they let go and need a rebuilt. Here’s why. Notice how the backplate screws down from the anvil side on both snap ons and if you see most of the ratchets made by snap on today the bolts go thru the front to the back and secures the backplate in place. Just look at for example the digital 3/8 torque wrench for instance. That new design of the bolts tightening from the top is a far more superior design versus the kind seen here in your video. So what’s the point of all this ? Why did I mention it? Because the secret hack is too get one of the flex head 1/4 heavy duty ratchets where the bolts go in from the top and then you gut the internals out and drop in the 3/8 anvil using the rebuilt kit then you can really step on that ratchet without it breaking. And the reason I did this was because I wanted to ensure the longerivity of the tool since I converted my extra extra long 1/4 body flex head ratchet soft girl with the 3/8 upgrade so I can have high leverage in tight hard to reach spaces 😃

I think you covered the basics pretty good. I made a similar video about Snap-on vs Koken but I looked at their Roto-head ratchets. Have a look if you want to see that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYfPfaqFnL50rbMsi=GTPRUQhWb_nwLeFF I also did a little demo on the back-drag issue, but I was working with a spark plug on my motorcycle. Same results. Take care.

The Koken has the back of the main gear exposed. That lets me put a finger on it to keep the socket from turning backwards. With that light backdrag one finger is enough.
