I'd like to see a side by side comparison between this mod and a Stahlwille 452QR/12261010. Not sure how slim the head is, but usually they're small. The locking flex AND qr would be nice.

Found a long handle compact head ratchet that pivots in two places in Harbor Freight for like 22 dollars and for what I use it works perfect. Have a ratchet with short handle that I used for a RX 7 that I had. Love the video...

My rep still gets the 3/8 faceplates. I made one with the slightly-shorter flex head 1/4, I use it all the time. But honestly, the little 72t round head with the 3/8 anvil is even more useful to me

The FCF72-2 faceplate is the faceplate to convert any T72 based 1/4" ratchet. But, that faceplate doesn't work on the TLLF72&THLLF72. They're designed differently and not interchangeable. To convert the TLLF72&THLLF72 you have to custom machine a TLLF72 faceplate.

For anyone considering doing the 3/8 drive conversion to the THLL72 or THLLF72, the milled faceplate dimensions (to fit the 3/8 drive and o-ring) are … OD: 0.685 in (o-ring hole) ID: 0.550 in (3/8 drive hole) Depth: 0.050 in (o-ring hole) Respectfully. Note: You only need to machine/mill the faceplate of the 1/4” ratchets with the screws through the selector switch side, NOT the faceplate side. Hope this helps someone!

My experience.. the little spring steel v cut tensioner deal that sits beneath the pawls wears out extremely bad thats whats is worn if you cant hear it click at all anymore which personally i dont like. You can get by with bending it back a time or two but after that it just need replaced. Happens bad in my extra long 3/8 straight. Bc i use it like a breaker bar prolly lol. Plus i had to put loctite on the face plate bolts bc they always back out from vibration breaking things loose with it

Hi Mr subaru. Long time fan. Always watch your videos. Love subarus. I do apologize for posting here. Posting in hopes you can help shed some light on a strange issue I have. 02 impreza wrx wagon. Temperature gage is going to red when the car is running but I have my ob2 scanner watching the coolant temperature and the temperature is normal. Fans come on at 204 degrees like they should but by the time it reaches this temperature the temp gage is already topped out in red. I ve replaced the coolant and coolant temp sensor. I even tried a different cluster with the same result. I have not changed the water pump and it doesn't appear to have any type of leak or head gasket issue. Would really appreciate your input. Thanks so much again for your videos. Always look forward to them.

Hey man, using an 02 wrx pedal cluster on my Impreza. It doesn’t seem to line up on the clutch side. There is three holes. Two outside mounting holes there is a double layer hole. Is the cylinder standoffs at the base of the clutch master mounting bolts. Do those go through first inside layer to make the entire structure the pivot section be flush with the inside? Do you know! Thx

First off not sure i would say modifying a Snap-on part would be considered doing it right. If Snap-on wanted the modification done they would either offer as complete ratchet or all the parts. That being said I got a new one of the extra long flex head ratchet and it came with to other head with screws from the front. I converted it to 3/8 drive. Used as my daily driver and stripped out the gears in 2 months. It is handy in tight spots. Not sure it was worth the $$$.
@itsatoolthing6323
@itsatoolthing6323 2 жыл бұрын
@@ianloyd6384 I should clarify the Snap-on ratchet that had the head with the screws from the front on the extra long flex ratchet was not normal. Snap-on claims that the current 72 1/4 ratchet head with the screws from the rear are stronger than the ones with the screws from the front. If that was the case then why wouldn't they put that head on all of the models. Maybe they only think the exact long ratchet is the only you could put enough force for it to be impact full. Normally if you are changing from 1/4 to 3/8 drive you have to change the main drive gear, the anvil o-ring and the front plate cost about $25 off the Snap-on truck. If you convert the extra long flex Snap-on ratchet you will also need to swap out the ratchet head. You can buy the head separately but in most cases if you have a 2nd 1/4 ratchet with the head you need you can just swap the head with the ratchet you want to convert to 3/8 drive. The only reason this would be a problem is if at some point you decide you want to convert that 2nd ratchet to 3/8 drive.
