When I was a kid my Mom would use leftover Dean’s French Onion Dip on egg noodles with ground beef as “stroganoff”. 😂 Good times.

I'm glad Kevin chose Dean's. Like I said in my comment for that review, it's usually what my mom goes with. Can't wait to see the next blind taste test showdown, whatever it may be!

Years ago, my favorite was HELUVA DIP clam dip. It was discontinued for whatever reason I don't know. I also like the NACHO dips, ( any brand ) that are midly hot but not burning hot. I mostly make my own BLU cheese dip using blue cheese wedges minced into a container of SOUR cream. ( yummy ) I do the same thing making HORSERADISH dip.

This was so fun. By watching your reviews on the dip I had to go get me french onion with bacon dip by Dean's and I been chowing down on it. I so agree Walmart dip is so salty as you said it would choke a horse 🤣

I said when you first tasted it that my favorite is Deans French onion and you would be surprised how good it taste on baked potatoes with butter as well.

HeluvaGood has always been my store bought favorite. I wish we had the Daisy around these parts. Curious to try it. I’m a sour cream fanatic. My absolute favorite is to mix sour cream with onion soup mix! It’s nice to be able to control the amount of seasoning/flavor that goes into it.

We sell Dean's in a smaller container in our stores. we also sell A&e French onion dip in the smaller containers, but we are not sure if you get them in your state.

@TamiDunn oh yes, she has, one was just a month ago and she said, "Ugh, why do I even try it if it's not Dean's?". Lol. Unfortunately there are no Kroger stores nearby to try that one out!

I bought some Daisy ranch dip after you guys reviewed it and it is good. This review though makes me want to buy some Walmart french onion dip just to see if it is really really salty.

Very late to the video here! I got the sense that Kevin loved the Helluva dip the most in the regular taste. It didn’t seem like he was that into the Deans. In the blind taste test He preferred the Deans. That so interesting!

I feel like maybe you got a bad batch with that Walmart dip. I often get the Great Value dips and chips (its hard to beat their value they are so much cheaper than a lot of the other brands here) and have never noticed any excessive saltiness that I can remember. Either way though I love these comparison videos very informative!

I don't eat french onion dip but I know people use the Lipton Onion Soup mix with a container of sour cream and make their dip that way

It’s finally here! Loved this dip series. I was also shocked that great value did so poorly, as often the products are quality good for the. Alice you get. Have to agree with Tami this time, as I have tried the Kroger version and really enjoyed it. Don’t know if they have these at Kentucky Krogers, but there is a Brand called “La Terra Fina” that sells dips like caramelized onion, spinach and Parmesan, etc. over with the hummus that I’ve been curious about.

Haven't watched the video yet, or read any comments, Imma let you finish, but Dean's FO Dip is the greatest dip of all time. Caveat, though... let it set out for a few minutes, then stir it up - it tastes SO much better! Now, on to the show! Back to say... VINDICATION! Dean's is the best (okay, top two)... I like a dip that's oniony, but not onion-forward, so it's good to know I'm not missing out on anything!!!

This was great! Ty for this I’ve been wanting to try the daisy but it is way more expensive here so I think I’ll wait. Fresh market has all our pumpkin stuff now and poppy popcorn has a new Mediterranean herb and pimento cheese rn on sale for $4.99 a bag when regular price is 10.49

We have actually tried both of those flavors from Poppy Popcorn. We saw the pumpkin stuff at our store last week, but didn't find anything new. We will check again this week though! :)

I enjoyed this immensely! It’s interesting to see how different products can be… Kevin is such a good sport!!! Daisy brand is hit/miss for me… their sour cream is great but their cottage cheese is awful…the great value is a let down because most of their stuff is very good… I buy the Aldi brand and it’s good.. I’d love to see a salsa taste test… frozen fish filets or chicken nuggets…

I think you probably got a bad batch of Great Value or they changed suppliers. It has probably been a year since I have had any dip, but the GV was really good in the past. I am craving French Onion dip now. That is my favorite.

We don't have most of these brands in Canada- we have Heluva and Daisy, maybe Great Value, but none of the others (we don't have Kroeger stores here), but I am honestly shocked at the prices- here, we'd pay probably $3 or so for the small 8oz container, those big containers would be more like $5 each here. Just thought you may find that interesting! And good to know to avoid the Great Value brand haha.

I was following, but when you guys went back to dip again I got lost on what you said about what. 😂😂 I can’t believe the Great Value brand was so salty. Like Kevin said, they are usual good quality. I’m good with the Dean’s. I like how Kevin described the tang from the sour cream and onion. What a fun review.

I agree! Big surprise! I’m a big fan of great value private label usually delivering pretty good quality for the best deal around. This is why I love these blind taste tests.

I have to drive to Iowa to get it. When I go to Iowa I purchase it then. But I agree Kroger is one dip I can live with. I liked the thickness about it, the taste was good.

I disagree about the daisy we buy it all the time and never taste more sour cream then onion. That said everyone has their own opinion. I enjoyed yours on all of the dips. How you have a great weekend.

That is very weird I love the walmart brand french onion dip Never been salty to me at all. Maybe they made a bad batch of them. U might want to wait awhile and try it again. I don't like any of the rest of the dips you review my second flavor is the kroger brand.

I've had Walmart brand before, it didn't taste of a lot of salt.. Could just be a bad one you got.. I would like to try others, I've had Deans.. It's ok.. I'd prefer something else.

I used to love Prairie Farms- it was so thick, and the flavor was so good- the last 2 containers I purchased- they were so loose, and the flavor is not there. 7-11 sells the 16oz container for $5.99! Used to be $3.99 and then $4.99 and now it's $5.99! Ridiculous for sure. I will not buy that brand ever again.

I like the Daisy because it don't have manufactured glutamate(MSG) in it . I eat the cottage cheese and the dips so I don't know if there plain sour cream taste like the onion dip. As if I want sour cream I buy a different brand never tried the Daisy sour cream .
