This channel is really interesting because of the perspective it offers on artistic talent and how it is managed and maintained by artists dedicated to a life devoted to their passion. It's not something artists usually reveal to an audience. We normally only get to see the performance, not the process. These two are all about showing us the process. And they do it so entertainingly.

@@Lethgar_Smith you nailed it, they help people who maybe don't have as much context for the work that goes into playing these instruments understand that it's not just something you're born into, or that you can just absorb through osmosis... These pieces of music require devotion and hard work to play convincingly, and they really highlight the parts of the process that mostly aren't glorified. People see a concert and can feel like it was just this perfect moment that materialized in an instant. But people don't see the month of rehearsals and all the mistakes and roadblocks that were pushed through to get to that perfect moment.

A little complaint from a big fan of your channel: you guys always review/react to almost same list of "mainstream" violinists. It would be great to see your reactions to some baroque playing. For example, it would be interesting to see your opinion about performances of Shunske Sato (e.g. unusual performance of Bach's Chaconne, a controversial "drunk" interpretation of Vivaldi's Autumn, etc.) , Cynthia Freivogel with Voices of Music (IMO the best Vivaldi's Winter), Voices of Music in general (their great Bach's Air on G string, for example).

Agreed on a majority for best - and I liked Brett's Mendelssohn the most. Some 30 years ago there was a radio show where they had just one work with 4-6 anonymous recordings and a follow up after a few days where the recordings were discussed and revealed. Remember a fantastic Carmen, outstanding of the five - turned out to be an amateur!

I have an idea comes from the "Guess the..." videos, specifically "Guess the Violinist: Brett VS Eddy Edition" and the Korean program "hidden singer". Brett must play secretly with other violinists, on the other side Eddy must guess who Brett is and vice versa. I think you can watch the Korean program and get an idea, the format could be like the last "5 Violinists vs 1 Violist" (I mean the scenario)

It is remarkable always with music how different it can be in different hands but also even in the same ones on a day to day basis. People are not the same. The surroundings are not the same. Quite fascinating!
