I don't know the lore of Red Flood but in real life ukraine literally means "borderstate" or "on the border". There were many ukraines in both Russia and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth

According to the most authoritative and widespread version, including in Ukraine itself, the name of the state comes from the Old Russian word оукраина - "borderstate" - which was originally applied to various border lands of Rus' and ancient Rus' principalities.@@illyabondar4401

Ukraine literally means "in our country". Next time write something less stupidly…

The meanings of those words are the same in every slavic country and Ukraine is a slavic country. The word consists of two following words: "Kraina" means "state, land, country, border". "U" is a preposition which means "at", "next to", "near". Put the two together and you get "at/on/near/next the border/state/land/country" Its as easy as 1+1=2. Fight is as long as you want but it won't make you less stupid and ridiculous.

@@edgarratsep3631 Kraina doesn't mean on ukrainian "border", and U or V (Vkraina, Ukraina) means IN. So stop make yourself "stupid".
